1 So the king and Haman came in, to banquet with Esther the queen.
1 Veio, pois, o rei com Hamã, para beber com a rainha Ester.
2 Then said the king unto Esther, on the second day also, during the banquet of wine, What is thy petition, Queen Esther, that it may be granted thee? and what is thy requestunto the half of the kingdomthat it may be performed?
2 No segundo dia, durante o banquete do vinho, disse o rei a Ester: Qual é a tua petição, rainha Ester? E se te dará. Que desejas? Cumprir-se-á ainda que seja metade do reino.
3 Then answered Esther the queen, and said, If I have found favour in thine eyes, O king, and if, unto the king, it seem good, let my life be granted me, as my petition, and my people, as my request;
3 Então, respondeu a rainha Ester e disse: Se perante ti, ó rei, achei favor, e se bem parecer ao rei, dê-se-me por minha petição a minha vida, e, pelo meu desejo, a vida do meu povo.
4 For we are sold, I and my people, to be destroyed, to be slain and to be caused to perish. If indeed, for bondmen and for bondwomen, we had been sold, I had held my peace, although the adversary could not have made good the damage to the king.
4 Porque fomos vendidos, eu e o meu povo, para nos destruírem, matarem e aniquilarem de vez; se ainda como servos e como servas nos tivessem vendido, calar-me-ia, porque o inimigo não merece que eu moleste o rei.
5 Then spake King Ahasuerus, and said unto Esther the queen,Who is he now, and where is he, whose heart is set to act thus?
5 Então, falou o rei Assuero e disse à rainha Ester: Quem é esse e onde está esse cujo coração o instigou a fazer assim?
6 And Esther said, A man who is an adversary and enemy, this wicked Haman. And, Haman, was terrified, before the king and the queen.
6 Respondeu Ester: O adversário e inimigo é este mau Hamã. Então, Hamã se perturbou perante o rei e a rainha.
7 Now, the king, arising in his wrath from the banquet of wine, and going into the palace garden, Haman, stood to make request for his life from Esther the queen, for he saw that ruin, was determined against him, by the king.
7 O rei, no seu furor, se levantou do banquete do vinho e passou para o jardim do palácio; Hamã, porém, ficou para rogar por sua vida à rainha Ester, pois viu que o mal contra ele já estava determinado pelo rei.
8 When, the king, returned out of the palace garden into the place of the banquet of wine, Haman, was lying prostrate upon the couch whereon Esther was. Then said the king, Will he, even dare to force the queen, while I am in the house? No sooner had the word gone forth out of the mouth of the king, than, the face of Haman, they had covered.
8 Tornando o rei do jardim do palácio à casa do banquete do vinho, Hamã tinha caído sobre o divã em que se achava Ester. Então, disse o rei: Acaso, teria ele querido forçar a rainha perante mim, na minha casa? Tendo o rei dito estas palavras, cobriram o rosto de Hamã.
9 Then said Harbonahone of the eunuchs before the kingYea lo! the gallows that Haman made ready for Mordecai, who had spoken well for the king, is standing in Hamans house, of a height of fifty cubits. Then said the king, Hang him thereon.
9 Então, disse Harbona, um dos eunucos que serviam o rei: Eis que existe junto à casa de Hamã a forca de cinquenta côvados de altura que ele preparou para Mordecai, que falara em defesa do rei. Então, disse o rei: Enforcai-o nela.
10 So they hanged Haman on the gallows which he had prepared for Mordecai,and, the wrath of the king, was appeased.
10 Enforcaram, pois, Hamã na forca que ele tinha preparado para Mordecai. Então, o furor do rei se aplacou.
