1 It was pleasing before Darius, that he should set up over the kingdom, a hundred and twenty satraps,that they should be over all the kingdom;
1 Dario achou por bem colocar sobre o reino cento e vinte príncipes, os quais deveriam estar sobre todo o reino;
2 and, over these, three confidential ministers, of whom, Daniel, was first,that, to them, these satraps should render an account, and, the king, not be suffering loss.
2 e sobre estes três presidentes, dos quais Daniel era primeiro, para que os príncipes pudessem prestar-lhes contas, e o rei não tivesse nenhum dano.
3 Then, this Daniel, signalised himself, above the ministers and the satraps, because, a distinguished spirit, was in him, and, the king, thought to set him up over all the kingdom,
3 Então este Daniel era o preferido sobre os presidentes e príncipes, porque havia nele um espírito excelente, e o rei pensou em colocá-lo sobre todo o reino.
4 Then, the ministers and the satraps, began seeking to find, occasion, against Daniel, in respect of the kingdom,but, no occasion nor wickedness, could they find, inasmuch as, faithful, was he, and, neither error nor wickedness, could be found against him.
4 Então os presidentes e os príncipes buscaram encontrar ocasião contra Daniel a respeito do reino, porém eles não puderam encontrar nenhuma ocasião, nem culpa, porquanto ele era fiel, e não se achou erro ou culpa nele.
5 Then, these men, were saying, We shall not find against this Daniel, any occasion; unless we find it against him in respect of the law of his God.
5 Então disseram estes homens: Nós não encontraremos qualquer ocasião contra este Daniel, exceto se procurarmos contra ele algo concernente à lei do seu Deus.
6 Then, these ministers and satraps, crowded together unto the king,and, thus, were saying to him, O Darius the king! for ages, live!
6 Então estes presidentes e príncipes reuniram-se junto ao rei, e assim disseram-lhe: Rei Dario, vive para sempre.
7 All the ministers of the kingdom, the nobles and satraps, the near friends and the pashas, have consulted together, to establish a royal statute, and to confirm an interdict,That, whosoever shall ask a petition of any God or man, for thirty days, save of thee, O king, shall be cast into the den of lions.
7 Todos os presidentes do reino, os governadores e os príncipes, os conselheiros e os capitães, reuniram-se para estabelecer um estatuto real, e fazer um firme decreto, para que todo aquele que suplicar a qualquer Deus ou homem por trinta dias, exceto a ti, ó rei, seja lançado na cova dos leões.
8 Now, O king! wilt thou establish the interdict, and sign the writing, that it may not be changedaccording to the law of the Medes and Persians, which may not be abolished,
8 Agora, ó rei, estabelece o decreto, e assina o escrito, para que não seja modificado, de acordo com a lei dos medos e persas, a qual não se altera.
9 Wherefore, King Darius, signed the writing and the interdict.
9 Portanto, o rei Dario assinou o escrito e o decreto.
10 But, Daniel, when he knew that the writing, was signed, went to his own house, and, the windows being opened to him, in his chamber, toward Jerusalem, three times a day, was he kneeling upon his knees, and praying and giving thanks before his God, in like manner as he had been doing aforetime.
10 Então, quando Daniel soube que o escrito foi assinado, ele foi para sua casa e, com as suas janelas abertas em sua câmara que dava para Jerusalém, ele abaixou-se sobre os seus joelhos três vezes ao dia e orou, e deu graças perante o seu Deus, como costumava fazer antes.
11 Then, these men, crowded together, and found Daniel,praying and making supplication, before his God.
11 Então estes homens reuniram-se, e encontraram Daniel orando e fazendo súplicas perante o seu Deus.
12 Then drew they near, and began to speak before the king, concerning the royal interdict, Didst thou not sign, an interdict, that, any man who should petition of any God or man, for thirty days, save of thee, O king, should be cast into the den of lions? The king answered and said, Certain is the thingaccording to the law of the Medes and Persians, which may not be abolished.
12 Então eles se aproximaram, e falaram perante o rei a respeito do decreto real: Não assinaste tu um decreto para que todo homem que venha a fazer uma súplica a qualquer Deus ou homem, dentro de trinta dias, exceto a ti, ó rei, venha a ser lançado na cova dos leões? O rei respondeu, e disse: O assunto é verdadeiro, de acordo com a lei dos medos e persas, a qual não se altera.
13 Then answered they and were saying before the king, Daniel, who is of the sons of the exile of Judah, hath made thee, O king, of none account, also the interdict which thou hast signed,but, three times a day, is asking his petition.
13 Então eles responderam, e disseram perante o rei: Aquele Daniel, o qual é dos filhos dos cativos de Judá, não considera a ti, ó rei, nem o decreto que assinaste, mas faz a sua oração três vezes ao dia.
14 Then, the king, when he heard, the matter, was sorely displeased with himself, and, upon Daniel, set his heart, to deliver him,and, until the going in of the sun, was striving to rescue him.
14 Então o rei, quando ouviu estas palavras, ficou profundamente insatisfeito consigo mesmo, e propôs em seu coração livrar Daniel; e ele trabalhou até o pôr do sol para livrá-lo.
15 Then, these men, crowded unto the king,and were saying to the king, Know, O king, that the law of the Medes and Persians is, that, no interdict nor statute which the king establisheth, may be changed.
15 Então estes homens reuniram-se diante do rei, e disseram ao rei: Sabe, ó rei, que a lei dos medos e persas é que nenhum decreto, nem estatuto que o rei estabelece pode ser mudado.
16 Then, the king, gave word, and they brought Daniel, and cast him into the den of lions. The king spake and said to Daniel,Thy God, whom thou art serving continually, he, will deliver thee.
16 Então o rei ordenou, e eles trouxeram Daniel e o lançaram dentro da cova dos leões. Então, o rei falou e disse a Daniel: O teu Deus, a quem tu continuamente serves, te livrará.
17 And there was brought a certain stone, and laid upon the mouth of the den; and the king sealed it with his own signet-ring, and with the signet-ring of his nobles, that nothing might be changed, as to Daniel.
17 E uma pedra foi trazida, e colocada sobre a boca da cova; e o rei a selou com seu próprio sinete, e com o sinete de seus senhores, para que o propósito não se modificasse concernente a Daniel.
18 Then the king departed to his palace, and spent the night fasting, and no, table, was brought in before him,and, his sleep, fled from him.
18 Então o rei foi para o seu palácio, e passou a noite jejuando; nem foram trazidos os instrumentos de música perante ele, e apartou-se dele o seu sono.
19 Then the king rose early, with the dawn,and, hastilyunto the den of lions, departed;
19 Então o rei levantou-se muito cedo pela manhã, e foi apressadamente até a cova dos leões.
20 and, when he drew near to the den, unto Daniel, with distressed voice, made he outcry,the king spake and said unto Daniel, O Daniel! servant of the Living God! Thy God, whom thou art serving continually, hath he been able to deliver thee from the lions?
20 E quando ele chegou à cova, gritou com uma voz angustiante por Daniel; e o rei falou, e disse a Daniel: Ó Daniel, servo do Deus vivo, o teu Deus, a quem tu continuamente serves, foi capaz de livrar-te dos leões?
21 Then, Daniel, with the king, spake,O king! for ages, live!
21 Então disse Daniel ao rei: Ó rei, vive para sempre.
22 My God, hath sent his messenger, and hath shut the mouth of the lions, and they have not hurt me; forasmuch as, before him, rectitude was found in me, moreover also, before thee, O king, no, crime, had I committed.
22 O meu Deus enviou o seu anjo, e fechou a boca dos leões, para que não me ferissem; visto que, perante ele, encontrou-se inocência em mim, e também perante a ti, ó rei, não tenho feito mal algum.
23 Then, the king, was exceedingly glad concerning him, and gave word to take up, Daniel, out of the den. So Daniel, was taken up, out of the den, and, no manner of hurt, was found in him, for that he had trusted in his God.
23 Então o rei ficou extremamente contente por ele, e ordenou para que eles erguessem Daniel para fora da cova. Então, Daniel foi erguido da cova, e nenhum tipo de ferimento encontrou-se nele, porque ele acreditou em seu Deus.
24 And the king, gave word, that they should bring those men who had accused Daniel, and, into the den of lions, they cast themthem, their children, and their wives,and, they had not reached the bottom of the den, when the lions, seized them, and, all their bones, brake they in pieces.
24 E o rei ordenou, e trouxeram-lhe aqueles homens que tinham acusado Daniel, e foram lançados dentro da cova dos leões; eles, os seus filhos e as suas esposas; e os leões tiveram domínio sobre eles, e quebraram todos os seus ossos em pedaços antes que chegassem ao fundo da cova.
25 Then, Darius the king, wrote to all the peoples, the races, and the tongues who were dwelling in all the earth, Your prosperity abound!
25 Então o rei Dario escreveu para todo povo, nações e línguas, que habitam em toda a terra: Paz vos seja multiplicada.
26 From before me, is appointed a decree that, throughout every dominion of my kingdom, men tremble and withdraw falteringly from before the God of Daniel,for that, he, is the Living God, and abiding for ages, and, his kingdom, that which shall not be destroyed, and, his dominion, is unto the end:
26 Eu estabeleço um decreto pelo qual em todo o domínio do meu reino, homens tremam e temam perante o Deus de Daniel; pois ele é o Deus vivo e imutável para sempre; e o seu reino não será destruído, e o seu domínio durará até o fim.
27 who delivereth and rescueth and worketh signs and wonders, in the heavens, and in the earth,for that he hath delivered Daniel out of the power of the lions.
27 Ele livra e resgata, e ele opera sinais e maravilhas no céu e na terra, aquele que livrou Daniel do poder dos leões.
28 And, this Daniel, prospered in the reign of Darius,and in the reign of Cyrus the Persian. :
28 Então este Daniel prosperou no reinado de Dario, e no reinado de Ciro, o persa.
