Amós 3

1 Hear ye this word, which Yahweh hath spoken, concerning you, ye sons of Israel,concerning the whole family which I brought up out of the land of Egypt saying:
1 Ouvi, israelitas, o oráculo que o Senhor pronunciou contra vós, contra todo o povo, disse ele, que tirei do Egito.
2 Only you, have I acknowledged, of all the families of the ground, For this cause, will I visit upon you all your iniquities.
2 Dentre todas as raças da terra só a vós conheço; por isso vos castigarei por todas as vossas iniqüidades.
3 Can two walk together,except they meet?
3 Porventura caminharão juntos dois homens, se não tiverem chegado previamente a um acordo?
4 Will a lion roar in the forest, when, prey, he hath none? Will a young lion utter his voice out of his den, when he hath made no capture?
4 Rugirá por acaso o leão na floresta, sem que tenha achado alguma presa? Gritará o leãozinho no covil, se não tiver apanhado alguma coisa?
5 Will a bird fall upon a net to the earth, when there is no, snare, for it? Will a net rise front the ground, when it hath, captured nothing?
5 Cairá o pardal no laço posto no solo, se a armadilha não estiver armada? Levantar-se-á da terra o laço sem ter apanhado alguma coisa?
6 Or a horn be blown in a city, and, a people, not tremble? Or calamity happen in a city, and, Yahweh, not have wrought with effect?
6 Tocará o alarme na cidade sem que o povo se assuste? Virá uma calamidade sobre uma cidade sem que o Senhor a tenha disposto?
7 Surely My Lord Yahweh, will do, nothing,except he have disclosed his secret unto his servants, the prophets!
7 {Porque o Senhor Javé nada faz sem revelar seu segredo aos profetas, seus servos.}
8 A lion, hath roared, Who will not fear? My Lord Yahweh, hath spoken, Who can forbear to prophesy?
8 O leão ruge, quem não temerá? O Senhor Javé fala: quem não profetizará?
9 Announce it over the palaces in Ashdod, and over the palaces in the land of Egypt,and say yeGather yourselves together upon the mountains of Samaria, and behold yethe great disorders in the midst thereof, and the oppressed within her.
9 Proclamai este oráculo nos palácios de Azot, nos palácios do Egito. Clamai: Juntai-vos nos montes da Samaria, e vede quantas desordens há nessa cidade, quanta violência se pratica no seu seio!
10 Therefore do they not know how to do right, Declareth Yahweh, who are treasuring up violence and spoil in their palaces.
10 Não sabem fazer o que é reto - oráculo do Senhor - amontoam em seus palácios {o fruto} de suas violências e de seus roubos.
11 ThereforeThus, saith My Lord, Yahweh, An adversary! Yea round about the land,and he who shall bring down, from thee, thy strength, And spoiled shall be thy palaces.
11 Por isso, assim diz o Senhor Javé: Eis o inimigo a invadir a terra! Ele aniquilará a tua força; teus palácios serão pilhados.
12 Thus, saith Yahweh, Just as a shepherd rescueth, out of the mouth of the lion, a couple of shankbones, or the tip of an ear, so, shall be rescued the sons of Israel, who are tarrying in Samaria, in the corner of the divan, and on the damask of the luxurious couch.
12 Oráculo do Senhor: o pastor só consegue arrancar da boca do leão duas pernas e uma ponta de orelha; assim serão salvos os filhos de Israel que habitam em Samaria, reclinados em sofás, em almofadas de Damasco.
13 Hear ye and bear witness, throughout the house of Jacob,Commandeth My Lord, Yahweh, God of hosts:
13 Ouvi isto, e declarai-o à casa de Jacó, diz o Senhor Javé, Deus dos exércitos:
14 That, in the day I visit the transgressions of Israel upon him, then will I punish, concerning the altars of Bethel, So shall the horns of the altar, be broken off, and they shall fall to the ground;
14 No dia em que eu punir Israel por seus crimes, punirei os altares de Betel: os cornos do altar serão quebrados e cairão por terra.
15 And I will smite the winter house along with the summer house,and the houses of ivory, shall be destroyed! and the great houses, shall disappear, Declareth Yahweh.
15 Derrubarei a residência de inverno e a residência de verão; as moradas de marfim serão destruídas, muitas casas serão aniquiladas - oráculo do Senhor.
