1 Now, Ahab, had seventy sons in Samaria,so Jehu wrote letters, and sent to Samaria, unto the rulers of Jezreelthe elders, and unto them who had been foster-parents for Ahab, saying:
1 E Acabe tinha setenta filhos em Samaria. E Jeú escreveu cartas, e enviou-as para Samaria, para os governantes de Jezreel, para os anciãos, e para aqueles que criavam os filhos de Acabe, dizendo:
2 Now, therefore, when this letter cometh in unto you, there being, with you, the sons of your lord,and, with you, the chariots and the homes, and a fortified city, and the armour,
2 Agora, tão logo esta carta chegue a vós, vendo que os filhos do vosso mestre estão convosco, e que há convosco carruagens e cavalos, também uma cidade fortificada, e armadura;
3 ye shall look out the goodliest and fittest of the sons of your lord, and set on the throne of his father, and ye shall do battle for the house of your lord.
3 procurai mesmo o melhor e o mais correto dos filhos do vosso senhor, e ponde-o no trono do seu pai, e lutai pela casa do vosso senhor.
4 Then feared they very greatly, and said, Lo! two kings, stood not before him; how then, should, we, stand?
4 Porém eles estavam mui temerosos, e disseram: Eis que dois reis não ficaram de pé diante dele; como então ficaremos nós de pé?
5 So he that was over the house, and he that was over the city, and the elders, and the foster-parents sent unto Jehu, sayingThy servants, we are! and, all that thou shalt say unto us, will we do,we will make no man king, whatsoever is good in thine own eyes, do!
5 E aquele que estava sobre a casa, e aquele que estava sobre a cidade, também os anciãos, e os tutores dos filhos, mandaram dizer a Jeú: Nós somos teus servos, e faremos tudo o que tu nos disseres; não faremos rei algum; faz tu aquilo que for bom aos teus olhos.
6 Then wrote he unto them a second letter, sayingIf, mine, ye are, and, unto my voice, ye intend to hearken, take ye the heads of the men who are sons of your lord, and come in unto me about this time to-morrow, in Jezreel. Now, the sons of the king, seventy persons, were with the great men of the city, who had been bringing them up.
6 Então, ele escreveu uma carta, pela segunda vez, a eles, dizendo: Se vós fordes meus, e se vós atentardes a minha voz, tomai as cabeças dos homens, filhos do vosso senhor, e vinde até mim, em Jezreel, por volta desta hora amanhã. Ora, os filhos do rei, sendo setenta pessoas, estavam com os grandes homens da cidade, os quais os criavam.
7 And it came to pass, when the letter reached them, that they took the sons of the king, and slew them, seventy persons,and put their heads in baskets, and sent unto him to Jezreel.
7 E sucedeu, quando a carta chegou até eles, que eles pegaram os filhos do rei, e mataram setenta pessoas, e colocaram as suas cabeças em cestos, e os enviaram a Jezreel.
8 And there came in a messenger and told him, saying, They have brought in the heads of the sons of the king. And he saidLay ye them in two heaps, at the entrance of the gate, until the morning.
8 E ali chegou um mensageiro, e lhe contou, dizendo: Eles trouxeram as cabeças dos filhos do rei. E ele disse: Ponde-as em dois montões à entrada do portão até amanhã.
9 And it came to pass, in the morning, that he went out and took his stand, and said unto all the people, Righteous, are, ye! Lo! I, conspired against my lord, and slew him, but, who, smote, all these?
9 E sucedeu, pela manhã, que ele saiu, e se pôs de pé, e disse a todo o povo: Vocês são retos; eis que eu conspirei contra o meu senhor e o matei; mas quem matou todos estes?
10 Know ye, then, that there shall fall nought of the word of Yahweh, to the ground, which Yahweh spake concerning the house of Ahab,but, Yahweh, hath done that which he spake through his servant Elijah.
10 Sabei agora que nada ali cairá por terra da palavra do SENHOR, a qual o SENHOR falou acerca da casa de Acabe; porque o SENHOR tem feito aquilo que ele falou pelo seu servo Elias.
11 Then Jehu smote all that were left remaining unto the house of Ahab, in Jezreel, and all his great men, and his acquaintances and his priests,until there was not left remaining to him, a survivor.
11 Assim, Jeú matou todos os que restaram da casa de Acabe em Jezreel, e todos os seus grandes homens, e a sua parentela, e os seus sacerdotes, até não deixar restar mais nenhum deles.
12 Then arose he, and came in, and departed for Samaria,the sheep-shearing house itself being on the road;
12 E ele se levantou e partiu, e veio até Samaria. E, estando no caminho, junto à casa de tosquia,
13 so, Jehu, lighted upon the brethren of Ahaziah king of Judah, and said, Who are, ye? And they saidBrethren of Ahaziah, are, we; so we came down to salute the sons of the king, and the sons of the queen.
13 Jeú se encontrou com os irmãos de Acazias, rei de Judá, e disse: Quem sois vós? E eles responderam: Nós somos os irmãos de Acazias; e descemos para saudar os filhos do rei e os filhos da rainha.
14 Then said he,Take them alive. So they took them alive, and slew them
14 E ele disse: Apanhai-os vivos. E eles os apanharam vivos, e os mataram junto ao fosso da casa de tosquia, a saber, quarenta e dois homens; tampouco poupou ele qualquer um deles.
15 Then departed he from thence, and lighted on Jehonadab son of Rechab coming to meet him, and he blessed him, and said unto himIs thy heart, right, as my heart is with thy heart? And Jehonadab saidIt is. Then, if it is, give me thy hand. So he gave him his hand. And he took him up to him, into the chariot;
15 E, quando ele havia partido dali, ele desceu diante de Jonadabe, e o filho de Recabe vindo para se encontrar com ele; o saudou, e lhe disse: É reto o teu coração, como o meu coração é com o teu coração? E Jonadabe respondeu: É. Se for, dá-me a tua mão. E ele deu-lhe a sua mão; e ele o fez subir na carruagem.
16 and saidDo come with me, and see my jealousy for Yahweh. So he made him ride in his chariot.
16 E ele disse: Vem comigo, e vê o meu zelo pelo SENHOR. Assim, eles fizeram-no andar na sua carruagem.
17 And, when he came into Samaria, he smote all that were left remaining unto Ahab, in Samaria, until he had destroyed him,according to the word of Yahweh, which he had spoken unto Elijah.
17 E, quando ele chegou a Samaria, ele matou todos os que restaram de Acabe em Samaria, até que o destruiu, segundo o dizer do SENHOR, o qual ele falou a Elias.
18 Then Jehu gathered together all the people, and said unto them,Ahab, served Baal, a little,Jehu, will serve him, much.
18 E Jeú reuniu todo o povo, e disse a eles: Acabe serviu um pouco a Baal; mas Jeú servirá muito a ele.
19 Now, therefore, all the prophets of Baal, all his servants and all his priests, call ye for me; do not let, a man, be missing; for, a great sacrifice, have I, to Baal, no one that is missing, shall live. But, Jehu, acted, craftily, to the end he might destroy the servants of Baal.
19 Agora, portanto, chamai-me todos os profetas de Baal, todos os seus servos, e todos os seus sacerdotes; que não falte nenhum; porque eu tenho um grande sacrifício para fazer a Baal; qualquer um que faltar, este não viverá. Porém, Jeú fez isto em sutileza, com o intento de poder destruir os adoradores de Baal.
20 And Jehu saidHallow ye a solemn festival unto Baal. And they made proclamation.
20 E Jeú disse: Proclamai uma assembleia solene para Baal. E eles a proclamaram.
21 And Jehu sent throughout all Israel, and all the servants of Baal came in, so that there was not left remaining a man, who had not come in,and they entered the house of Baal, and the house of Baal was filled, from door to door.
21 E Jeú enviou por todo o Israel; e todos os adoradores de Baal vieram, de modo que não houve nenhum homem que não viesse. E eles entraram na casa de Baal; e a casa de Baal estava cheia, de uma extremidade a outra.
22 Then said he to him who was over the wardrobe chamber, Bring forth vestments for all the servants of Baal. And he brought forth for them the vestments.
22 E ele disse àquele que estava a cargo das vestimentas: Traz vestimentas para todos os adoradores de Baal. E ele trouxe-lhes as vestimentas.
23 Then entered Jehu, with Jehonadab son of Rechab, into the house of Baal,and he said unto the servants of BaalSearch ye and see, that there be not here, with you, any of the servants of Yahweh, none but the servants of Baal, alone.
23 E Jeú, com Jonadabe, o filho de Recabe, entraram na casa de Baal, e disse aos adoradores de Baal: Examinai, e vede que não haja aqui convosco nenhum dos servos do SENHOR, mas somente os adoradores de Baal.
24 And, when they entered to offer sacrifices and ascending-offerings, Jehu, set him, outside, eighty men, and saidThe man who shall escape, of the men whom I am bringing into your power, his own life, shall be for, his life.
24 E quando eles entraram para oferecer sacrifícios e ofertas queimadas, Jeú indicou oitenta homens de fora, e disse: Se algum dos homens que eu trouxe às vossas mãos escapar, aquele que o deixar ir, a sua vida será pela vida daquele.
25 And it came to pass, as soon as he had made an end of offering the ascending-sacrifice, that Jehu said to the runners and to the officersEnter, smite them, let not, a man, get out. So they smote them, with the edge of the sword,and the runners and the officers cast them out, and then went as far as the city of the house of Baal,
25 E sucedeu, tão logo ele terminou de oferecer a oferta queimada, que Jeú disse ao guarda e aos capitães: Entrai, e matai-os; não deixeis nenhum escapar. E eles os feriram com a lâmina da espada; e a guarda e os capitães os lançaram fora, e foram até a cidade da casa de Baal.
26 and brought forth the idolatrous pillars that were in the house of Baal, and then burned it;
26 E eles removeram as imagens da casa de Baal, e as queimaram.
27 and they brake down the pillars of Baal,and brake down the house of Baal, and appointed it for a sewer-houseuntil this day.
27 E eles derrubaram a imagem de Baal, e derrubaram a casa de Baal, e fizeram dela uma casa de dejetos até este dia.
28 Thus Jehu destroyed Baal out of Israel.
28 Assim, Jeú destruiu Baal de Israel.
29 Nevertheless, as for the sins of Jeroboam son of Nebat, which he caused, Israel, to commit, Jehu turned not away from following them,the calves of gold, one being in Bethel, and the other in Dan.
29 Todavia, dos pecados de Jeroboão, o filho de Nebate, que fez Israel pecar, deles não se apartou Jeú, a saber, os bezerros de ouro que estavam em Betel, e que estavam em Dã.
30 And Yahweh said unto Jehu: Because thou hast done well, by doing that which was right in mine eyesaccording to all that was in my heart, hast done to the house of Ahab, sons, of thine, unto the fourth generation, shall sit upon the throne of Israel.
30 E o SENHOR disse a Jeú: Como tens feito bem em executar aquilo que é reto aos meus olhos, e tens feito à casa de Acabe segundo tudo o que estava no meu coração, os teus filhos da quarta geração se assentarão sobre o trono de Israel.
31 But, Jehu, took not heed to walk in the law of Yahweh God of Israel, with all his heart,he turned not away from the sins of Jeroboam, which he caused, Israel, to commit.
31 Porém, Jeú não atentou em andar na lei do SENHOR Deus de Israel de todo o seu coração; porquanto não se apartou dos pecados de Jeroboão, o qual fez Israel pecar.
32 In those days, began Yahweh to make inroads in Israel,and Hazael smote them in all the boundaries of Israel;
32 Naqueles dias, o SENHOR começou a diminuir Israel; e Hazael os feriu em todos os limites de Israel;
33 from the Jordan, towards sunrise, all the land of Gilead, the Gadites, and the Reubenites, and the Manassites,from Aroer, which is by the torrent of Arnon, both Gilead and Bashan.
33 desde o Jordão para o leste, a toda terra de Gileade, os gaditas, e os rubenitas, e os manassitas; desde Aroer, que está junto ao rio Arnom, a saber, Gileade e Basã.
34 Now, the rest of the story of Jehu, and all that he did, and all his might, are they not written in the book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel?
34 Ora, o restante dos atos de Jeú, e tudo o que ele fez, e todo o seu poder, não estão escritos no livro das Crônicas dos reis de Israel?
35 And Jehu slept with his fathers, and they buried him in Samaria,and, Jehoahaz his son, reigned, in his stead.
35 E Jeú dormiu com os seus pais; e o sepultaram em Samaria. E Jeoacaz, o seu filho, reinou no seu lugar.
36 Now, the days that Jehu reigned over Israel, were twenty-eight years, in Samaria.
36 E o tempo em que Jeú reinou sobre Israel em Samaria foi de vinte e oito anos.
