1 Then sent Hezekiah unto all Israel and Judah, moreover also, letters, wrote he unto Ephraim and Manasseh, that they should come unto the house of Yahweh, in Jerusalem,to keep a passover unto Yahweh, God of Israel.
1 O rei Ezequias enviou uma mensagem a todo o Israel e Judá e escreveu cartas para o povo de Efraim e Manassés. Convidou todos a virem ao templo do S enhor em Jerusalém para celebrar a Páscoa do S enhor , o Deus de Israel.
2 Yea, the king and his rulers and all the convocation in Jerusalem, had taken counsel,to keep the passover in the second month.
2 O rei, seus oficiais e toda a comunidade de Jerusalém decidiram celebrar a Páscoa um mês depois da data estabelecida.
3 For they were unable to keep it at that time,because, the priests, had not hallowed themselves in sufficient numbers, and, the people, had not gathered themselves unto Jerusalem.
3 Não conseguiram celebrá-la na data prescrita, porque não havia como purificar sacerdotes em número suficiente até esse dia, e o povo ainda não tinha se reunido em Jerusalém.
4 And the thing was right, in the eyes of the king,and in the eyes of all the convocation.
4 Esse plano para celebrar a Páscoa pareceu bom ao rei e a toda a comunidade.
5 So they established a decree, to make proclamation throughout all Israel, from Beer-sheba even unto Dan, that they should come in to keep a passover unto Yahweh the God of Israel, in Jerusalem,for, not for a long time, had they kept it as written.
5 Assim, fizeram uma proclamação em todo o Israel, desde Berseba, ao sul, até Dã, ao norte, convidando todos a virem a Jerusalém para celebrar a Páscoa do S enhor , o Deus de Israel. Fazia tempo que essa festa não era celebrada por um grande número de pessoas, como a lei exigia.
6 The runners, therefore, went with letters from the hand of the king and his rulers, throughout all Israel and Judah, and according to the commandment of the king, saying,Ye sons of Israel, return ye unto Yahweh, God of Abraham, Isaac and Israel, and he will return unto the remnant, that which is left to you, out of the hand of the kings of Assyria.
6 Por ordem do rei, mensageiros foram enviados a todo o Israel e Judá. Levavam cartas que diziam: “Ó israelitas, voltem para o S
7 And be not ye like your fathers, or like your brethren, who acted unfaithfully with Yahweh, God of your fathers,who therefore delivered them up for an astonishment, as, ye yourselves, can see.
7 Não sejam como seus antepassados e parentes que foram infiéis ao S enhor , o Deus de seus antepassados, e se tornaram objeto de desprezo, como vocês mesmos podem ver.
8 Now, do not stiffen your neck, like your fathers,stretch forth the hand unto Yahweh, and enter into his sanctuary which he hath hallowed unto times age-abiding, and serve Yahweh your God, that he may turn from you the glow of his anger.
8 Não sejam teimosos, como eles foram, mas submetam-se ao S enhor . Venham a este templo que ele consagrou para sempre. Adorem o S enhor , seu Deus, para que sua ira ardente se desvie de vocês.
9 For, by your returning unto Yahweh, your brethren and your children, shall find compassion before their captors, so as to return unto this land. For, gracious and compassionate, is Yahweh your God, and will not turn away his face from you, if ye will return unto him.
9 “Pois, se voltarem para o S enhor , seus parentes e seus filhos serão tratados com bondade por aqueles que os capturaram e voltarão a esta terra. Pois o S enhor , seu Deus, é cheio de graça e compaixão. Não os rejeitará se voltarem para ele”.
10 So the runners were passing from city to city throughout the land of Ephraim and Manasseh, even unto Zebulun,-but they were laughing them to scorn, and mocking them.
10 Os mensageiros foram de cidade em cidade em Efraim e Manassés e até o território de Zebulom, mas a maioria do povo riu e zombou deles.
11 Howbeit, some, out of Asher and Manasseh and out of Zebulun, humbled themselves, and came to Jerusalem.
11 Contudo, alguns de Aser, Manassés e Zebulom se humilharam e vieram a Jerusalém.
12 Also, upon Judah, came the hand of God, to give them one heart,to keep the commandment of the king and the rulers, as the word of Yahweh.
12 Ao mesmo tempo, a mão de Deus estava sobre o povo da terra de Judá, dando-lhes um só coração para obedecer às ordens do rei e de seus oficiais, conforme a palavra do S enhor .
13 And there gathered themselves unto Jerusalem much people, to keep the festival of unleavened cakes, in the second month,an exceeding large convocation.
13 Assim, uma grande multidão se reuniu em Jerusalém no segundo mês, para comemorar a Festa dos Pães sem Fermento.
14 Then rose they up, and removed the altars, which were in Jerusalem,-and, all the censers, removed they, and cast them into the Kidron ravine.
14 Começaram a trabalhar e removeram os santuários idólatras de Jerusalém. Também removeram todos os altares de incenso e os jogaram no vale de Cedrom.
15 Then slaughtered they the passover, on the fourteenth of the second month,and, the priests and the Levites, were put to shame, and hallowed themselves, and brought in the ascending-sacrifices of the house of Yahweh.
15 No décimo quarto dia do segundo mês, o povo abateu o cordeiro pascal. Isso deixou os sacerdotes e levitas envergonhados, por isso se purificaram e trouxeram holocaustos ao templo do S enhor .
16 And they stood in their place, according to their regulation, according to the law of Moses the man of God,the priests, dashing the blood, at the hand of the Levites.
16 Tomaram seus lugares no templo, conforme a instrução da lei de Moisés, homem de Deus. Os levitas trouxeram sangue dos sacrifícios para os sacerdotes, que o aspergiram sobre o altar.
17 For there were many in the convocation, who had not hallowed themselves,but, the Levites, were over the slaughtering of the passover-lambs, for every one who was, not pure, to hallow him unto Yahweh.
17 Visto que muitas pessoas não haviam se purificado, os levitas tiveram de abater para elas o cordeiro pascal, a fim de consagrá-las ao S enhor .
18 For, the multitude of the people, many out of Ephraim and Manasseh, Issachar and Zebulun, had not purified themselves, for they did eat the passover, otherwise than as was written,for Hezekiah prayed for them, saying, May Yahweh the Good, put a propitiatory-covering about
18 A maioria dos que vieram de Efraim, Manassés, Issacar e Zebulom não havia se purificado. Mas o rei Ezequias orou por eles e foi permitido que comessem a refeição pascal, embora isso fosse contrário aos requisitos da lei. Pois Ezequias orou: “Que o S enhor , que é bondoso, perdoe
19 every one who hath prepared, his heart, to seek God, even Yahweh, God of his fathers,though not according to the purification of the sanctuary!
19 aqueles que resolveram buscar o S enhor , o Deus de seus antepassados, mesmo que não estejam devidamente purificados conforme os padrões do santuário”.
20 And Yahweh hearkened unto Hezekiah, and healed the people.
20 E o S enhor ouviu a oração de Ezequias e perdoou o povo.
21 And so the sons of Israel who were found in Jerusalem kept the festival of unleavened cakes seven days, with great rejoicing,and the Levites and the priests, were offering praise unto Yahweh day by day, with loud instruments, unto Yahweh.
21 Então os israelitas que estavam em Jerusalém comemoraram com grande alegria durante sete dias a Festa dos Pães sem Fermento. A cada dia, os levitas e os sacerdotes louvavam o S enhor com instrumentos ressoantes.
22 And Hezekiah spake unto the heart of all the Levites who were giving good instruction respecting Yahweh,and they did eat the appointed feast seven days, sacrificing the peace-offerings, and offering praise unto Yahweh, God of their fathers.
22 Ezequias elogiou todos os levitas pela aptidão que demonstraram no serviço ao S enhor . A celebração prosseguiu por sete dias. Apresentaram ofertas de paz, e o povo agradeceu ao S enhor , o Deus de seus antepassados.
23 Then all the convocation took counsel, to keep seven days more,and they kept seven days, with rejoicing.
23 Toda a comunidade resolveu continuar com a festa por mais sete dias, de modo que celebraram com alegria por mais uma semana.
24 For, Hezekiah king of Judah, presented to the convocation, a thousand bullocks and seven thousand sheep, and, the rulers, presented to the convocation, a thousand bullocks and ten thousand sheep,-and, priests in great numbers, hallowed themselves.
24 Ezequias, rei de Judá, deu à comunidade mil novilhos e sete mil ovelhas para as ofertas, e os oficiais deram mil novilhos e dez mil ovelhas e cabras. Nesse meio-tempo, muitos outros sacerdotes se purificaram.
25 So all the convocation of Judah, and the priests and the Levites, and all the convocation that came in out of Israel, rejoiced,also the sojourners who were coming in out of the land of Israel, and the dwellers in Judah.
25 Toda a comunidade de Judá se alegrou, incluindo os sacerdotes, os levitas, todos que vieram da terra de Israel, os estrangeiros residentes em Israel que vieram para a festa e todos que moravam em Judá.
26 Thus was there great rejoicing, in Jerusalem,for, since the days son of David king of Israel, there had not been the like of this, in Jerusalem.
26 Houve grande alegria em Jerusalém, pois a cidade não via uma celebração como essa desde os dias de Salomão, filho do rei Davi.
27 Then rose up the priests the Levites, and blessed the people, and there was a hearkening unto their voice,and their prayer entered into his holy dwelling-place, even into the heavens.
27 Então os sacerdotes e os levitas se levantaram e abençoaram o povo, e Deus, de sua santa habitação nos céus, ouviu sua oração.
