1 Twenty years old, was Ahaz when he began to reign, and, sixteen years, reigned he in Jerusalem,but he did not that which was right in the eyes of Yahweh, like David his father;
1 Acaz tinha vinte anos de idade quando começou a reinar, e reinou dezesseis anos em Jerusalém; mas ele não fez aquilo que era reto aos olhos do SENHOR seu Deus, como Davi, o seu pai;
2 but walked in the ways of the kings of Israel,yea, even molten images, made he to the Baalim;
2 porque andou nos caminhos dos reis de Israel, e fez também imagens derretidas para os baalins.
3 and, he, burned incense, in the valley of the son of Hinnom,-and burnt his sons, in the fire, according to the abominable ways of the nations, whom Yahweh dispossessed from before the sons of Israel.
3 Além disso, ele queimou incenso no vale do filho de Hinom, e queimou os seus filhos no fogo, segundo as abominações dos pagãos os quais o SENHOR havia expulsado de diante dos filhos de Israel.
4 And he sacrificed and burnt incense in the high places, and upon the hills,and under every green tree.
4 Ele também sacrificou e queimou incenso nos lugares altos, e nos outeiros, e debaixo de toda árvore verde.
5 Wherefore Yahweh his God delivered him into the hand of the king of Syria, who smote him, and carried away captive from him a large body of captives, and brought them into Damascus,yea, even into the hand of the king of Israel, was he delivered, who smote him with a great smiting.
5 Porquanto o SENHOR seu Deus o entregou nas mãos do rei da Síria; e eles o feriram, e levaram consigo uma grande multidão de cativos, e os trouxeram a Damasco. E ele também foi entregue na mão do rei de Israel, que o feriu com um grande massacre.
6 And Pekah son of Remaliah slew, in Judah, a hundred and twenty thousand in one day, all, sons of valour,-because they had forsaken Yahweh, God of their fathers.
6 Porque Peca, o filho de Remalias, matou em Judá, cento e vinte mil em um dia, os quais eram todos homens valentes; porque eles haviam abandonado o SENHOR Deus dos seus pais.
7 And Zichri a hero of Ephraim, slew Maaseiah son of the king, and Azrikam, chief ruler of the house,and Elkanah, that was next unto the king.
7 E Zicri, um homem poderoso de Efraim, matou Maaseias, o filho do rei, e a Azricão, o governador da casa, e Elcana que estava próximo ao rei.
8 And the sons of Israel, carried away captive, from among their brethren two hundred thousand, wives, sons and daughters, moreover also, of much spoil, did they plunder them,and brought the spoil to Samaria.
8 E os filhos de Israel levaram consigo cativos dos seus irmãos duzentos mil, mulheres, filhos e filhas, e também retiraram muito despojo deles, e trouxeram o despojo para Samaria.
9 But, in that place, was a prophet unto Yahweh, Oded his name, so he went out to meet the host that was coming unto Samaria, and said unto them, Lo! in the wrath of Yahweh, God of your fathers, against Judah, hath he delivered them into your hand,and ye have slain them in a rage, until, to the heavens, it hath reached.
9 Porém, um profeta do SENHOR esteve lá, cujo nome era Obede; e ele saiu na frente do exército que vinha para Samaria, e disse-lhes: Eis que, como o SENHOR Deus dos vossos pais ficou irado com Judá, ele os entregou na vossa mão, e vós os tem matado em uma fúria que alcançava até o céu.
10 Now, therefore, ye, are thinking to tread down, the children of Judah and Jerusalem, as servants and as handmaids for yourselves. But is it not sothat, ye yourselves, are altogether guilty against Yahweh your God?
10 E agora intentais manter subjugados os filhos de Judá e de Jerusalém como servos e servas a vós; porém não há convosco, convosco mesmo, pecados contra o SENHOR vosso Deus?
11 Now, therefore, hearken unto me, and restore the captives whom ye have taken captive from among your brethren,for, the glow of the anger of Yahweh, is over you.
11 Agora, ouvi-me, portanto, e entregai de volta os cativos, os quais trouxestes cativos dos vossos irmãos; porque a ira ardente do SENHOR está sobre vós.
12 Then rose up certain of the chiefs of the sons of EphraimAzariah son of Jehohanan, Berechiah son of Meshillemoth, and Jehizkiah son of Shallum, and Amasa son of Hadlai,against them who were coming in from the army;
12 Então, alguns dos cabeças dos filhos de Efraim: Azarias, o filho de Joanã, Berequias, o filho de Mesilemote, e Jeizquias, o filho de Salum, e Amasa, o filho de Hadlai, puseram-se de pé contra aqueles que vieram da guerra,
13 and said unto them, Ye shall not bring in the captives hither, for, with guilt against Yahweh already upon us, ye, are thinking to add unto our sins, and unto our guilt,for great is the guilt we have, and fierce is the anger over Israel.
13 e disseram-lhes: Vós não trareis os cativos para cá; porque mesmo que já tenhamos ofendido o SENHOR, vós intentais acrescentar mais aos nossos pecados e às nossas transgressões; porquanto a nossa transgressão é grande, e há uma ardente ira contra Israel.
14 So the armed men left the captives, and tile plunder, before the rulers, and all the convocation.
14 Assim os homens armados deixaram os cativos e o despojo diante dos príncipes e de toda a congregação.
15 Then rose up the men who have been expressed by nameand took the captives, and, all who were naked among them, clothed they out of the spoil, and arrayed them and sandalled them, and gave them to eat and to drink, and anointed them, and conducted them with asses for every one that was exhausted, and brought them to Jericho the city of palm-trees, near unto their brethren,and then returned to Samaria.
15 E os homens que foram designados pelo nome se levantaram, e tomaram os cativos, e com o despojo vestiram todos os que estavam nus entre eles, e os vestiram, e os calçaram, e os deram de comer e de beber, e os ungiram, e levaram todos os fracos dentre eles sobre jumentos, e os trouxeram a Jericó, a cidade das palmeiras, aos seus irmãos; então, eles retornaram a Samaria.
16 At that time, sent King Ahaz unto the kings of Assyria to help him.
16 Naquele tempo, o rei Acaz enviou aos reis da Assíria para ajudá-lo.
17 For again had, the Edomites, come and smitten Judah, and carried away captives;
17 Porque, novamente, os edomitas vieram, e feriram a Judá, e levaram consigo cativos.
18 and, the Philistines, had spread themselves out against the cities of the lowland and of the south, pertaining to Judah, and had captured Beth-shemesh and Aijalon and Gederoth, and Soco with its villages, and Timnah with its villages, and Gimzo, with its villages,and dwelt there.
18 Os filisteus também invadiram as cidades da região baixa, e do sul de Judá, e conquistaram Bete-Semes, e Aijalom, e Gederote, e Socó com as suas aldeias, e Timna com as suas aldeias, também Ginzo e as suas aldeias; e eles ali habitaram.
19 For Yahweh had brought Judah low, because of Ahaz king of Israel,for he had given the rein in Judah, and, been grievously unfaithful, with Yahweh.
19 Porque o SENHOR humilhou a Judá por causa de Acaz, rei de Israel; pois ele fez Judá ficar nu, e transgrediu gravemente contra o SENHOR.
20 And Tilgath-pilneser king of Assyria, came against him,and distressed him, but strengthened him not.
20 E Tiglate-Pileser, rei da Assíria, veio até ele, e o angustiou, mas não o fortaleceu.
21 For Ahaz took away a portion out of the house of Yahweh, and out of the house of the king, and the rulers,and gave unto the king of Assyria, but he helped him not.
21 Porque Acaz tomou uma porção da casa do SENHOR, e da casa do rei, e dos príncipes, e a deu ao rei da Assíria; mas ele não o ajudou.
22 And, in the time of his distress, he yet further acted unfaithfully with Yahweh,he, King Ahaz!
22 E no tempo da sua angústia, ele transgrediu ainda mais contra o SENHOR; este é aquele rei Acaz.
23 For he sacrificed unto the gods of Damascus who had smitten him, and said, Because the gods of the kings of Syria are helping them, unto them, will I sacrifice, that they may help me. But, they, served to seduce him and all Israel.
23 Porque ele sacrificou aos deuses de Damasco, os quais o feriram; e disse: Porque os deuses dos reis da Síria os ajudaram, por isso sacrificarei a eles, para que possam me ajudar. Porém, eles foram a sua ruína, e de todo o Israel.
24 And Ahaz gathered together the utensils of the house of God, and brake away the fittings of the house of God, and shut up the doors of the house of Yahweh,and made for himself altars at every corner in Jerusalem;
24 E Acaz reuniu os vasos da casa de Deus, e cortou em pedaços os vasos da casa de Deus, e fechou as portas da casa do SENHOR, e ele lhe fez altares em todas as esquinas de Jerusalém.
25 and, in every several city of Judah, made he high places, for burning incense unto other gods,and provoked Yahweh, God of his fathers.
25 E em cada uma destas várias cidades de Judá ele fez lugares altos para queimar incenso a outros deuses, e provocou à ira ao SENHOR Deus dos seus pais.
26 But, the rest of his story, and all his ways, first and last, there they are, written the book of the Kings of Judah and Israel.
26 Ora, o restante dos atos e de todos os seus caminhos, os primeiros e os últimos, eis que estão escritos no livro dos reis de Judá e de Israel.
27 And Ahaz slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the city, in Jerusalem, but they brought him not into the sepulchres of the kings of Israel,and Hezekiah his son reigned in his stead.
27 E Acaz dormiu com os seus pais, e eles o sepultaram na cidade, a saber, em Jerusalém; mas não o colocaram nos sepulcros dos reis de Israel; e Ezequias, o seu filho, reinou em seu lugar.
