1 For, indeed, concerning the ministry which is for the saints, it is, superfluous for me, to be writing to you;
1 Ora, quanto à assistência a favor dos santos, não é necessário que eu escreva a vocês.
2 For I know your forwardness of mindof which, in your behalf, I am boasting unto Macedonians, that, Achaia, hath been prepared for a year past,and, your zeal, hath stirred up the greater number of them.
2 Porque conheço a boa vontade de vocês, da qual me orgulho diante dos macedônios, dizendo que os irmãos da Acaia estão preparados desde o ano passado. E o zelo de vocês tem estimulado muitos deles.
3 Nevertheless I have sent the brethren, that, our boast in your behalf, be not made void, in this respect, that, even as I was saying, ye may be prepared,
3 Mas enviei estes irmãos, para que o nosso louvor a respeito de vocês neste particular não se desminta, a fim de que, como venho dizendo, vocês estivessem preparados.
4 Lest by any means, if there should come with me Macedonians, and find you unprepared, we,not to say, ye,should be put to shame in this confidence.
4 Do contrário, se alguns macedônios forem comigo e descobrirem que vocês não estão preparados, isso será uma vergonha para nós — para não dizer que será para vocês também — por toda essa confiança que tivemos em vocês.
5 Necessary, therefore, I regarded it, to exhort the brethren that they would go forward unto you, and make up beforehand your previously- promised blessing. The same, to be readythus, as a blessing, and not as of constraint.
5 Portanto, julguei necessário recomendar aos irmãos que me precedessem na visita a vocês e preparassem de antemão a oferta que vocês prometeram, para que esteja pronta como expressão de generosidade e não de avareza.
6 As to this, however, he that soweth sparingly, sparingly, also shall reap, and, he that soweth with blessings, with blessings, also shall reap:
6 E isto afirmo: aquele que semeia pouco também colherá pouco; e o que semeia com fartura também colherá com fartura.
7 Each one, according as he hath purposed in his heart, not sorrowfully, nor of necessity,for, a cheerful giver, God, loveth.
7 Cada um contribua segundo tiver proposto no coração, não com tristeza ou por necessidade, porque Deus ama quem dá com alegria.
8 Moreover God is able to cause, every gracious gift, to superabound unto you, in order that, having in every thing, at every time, every kind of sufficiency of your own, ye may be superabounding unto every good work;
8 Deus pode tornar abundante em vocês toda graça, a fim de que, tendo sempre, em tudo, ampla suficiência, vocês sejam abundantes em toda boa obra,
9 Even as it is writtenHe hath scattered abroad, he hath given to the needy,his righteousness, abideth to futurity.
9 como está escrito: “Distribuiu, deu aos pobres, a sua justiça permanece para sempre.”
10 Now, he that supplieth seed to the sower, and bread for eating, will supply and multiply your seed for sowing, and cause to grow your fruits of righteousness:
10 E Deus, que dá semente ao que semeia e pão para alimento, também suprirá e aumentará as sementes e multiplicará os frutos da justiça de vocês.
11 In every thing, being enriched, unto every kind of liberality,which, indeed, worketh out, through us, thanksgiving unto God;
11 Assim, vocês serão enriquecidos em tudo para toda generosidade, a qual, por meio de nós, resulta em orações de gratidão a Deus.
12 Because, the ministry of this public service, is not only towards filling up the deficiencies of the saints, but also superabounding, through the thanksgiving of many, unto God,
12 Porque o serviço desta assistência não só supre a necessidade dos santos, mas também transborda em muitas orações de gratidão a Deus.
13 who, through the proof of this ministry, are glorifying God for your acknowledged submission unto the glad-message of the Christ, and for the liberality of the fellowship, unto them, and unto all,
13 Na prova deste serviço, eles glorificam a Deus pela obediência da confissão que vocês fazem do evangelho de Cristo e pela generosidade com que vocês contribuem para eles e para todos,
14 Themselves also, with supplication on your behalf, longing after you, by reason of the surpassing favour of God upon you:
14 enquanto eles oram por vocês, com grande afeto, por causa da extraordinária graça de Deus que foi dada a vocês.
15 Thanks be unto God, for his unspeakable bounty!
15 Graças a Deus pelo seu dom indescritível!
