1 Samuel 12

1 And Samuel said unto all Israel, Lo! I have hearkened unto your voice, in all that ye said to me,and have set over you a king.
1 E Samuel disse a todo o Israel: Eis que tenho atentado à vossa voz em tudo o que me dissestes, e preparei um rei sobre vós.
2 Now, therefore, lo! the king going to and fro before you, But, I, am old and grey-headed, and, my sons, lo! they are with you,But, I, have gone to and fro before you from my youth until this day.
2 E agora, eis que o rei caminha diante de vós; e eu estou velho e tenho a cabeça branca, e eis que os meus filhos estão convosco; e eu tenho caminhado diante de vós desde a minha infância até este dia.
3 Behold me! testify against me, before Yahweh, and before his AnointedWhose, ox, have I taken? or whose, ass, have I taken? or whom have I oppressed? Whom have I crushed? or at whose, hands, have I taken a bribe, to cover up mine eyes therewith? and I will restore it unto you.
3 Vede, aqui estou; testemunhai contra mim diante do SENHOR, e diante do seu ungido: De quem tomei o boi? Ou, de quem tomei o jumento? Ou, a quem defraudei? A quem oprimi? Ou, de quem é a mão da qual recebi qualquer suborno para com isto fechar os meus olhos? E eu o restituirei.
4 And they said, Thou hast not oppressed us, neither hast thou crushed us,neither hast thou taken, at the hand of any man, any thing.
4 E eles disseram: Tu não nos defraudaste, nem nos oprimiste, tampouco tomaste algo da mão de qualquer homem.
5 And he said unto themWitness, is Yahweh against you, and, witness, is his Anointed, this day, that ye have not found in my hand, any thing! And they said: Witness!
5 E ele lhes disse: O SENHOR é testemunha contra vós, e o seu ungido é testemunha neste dia, de que vós não tendes achado nada na minha mão. E eles responderam: Ele é testemunha.
6 And Samuel said unto the people: Witness, is Yahweh, who wrought with Moses and with Aaron, and who brought up your fathers out of the land of Egypt.
6 E Samuel disse ao povo: Foi o SENHOR que pôs à frente Moisés e Arão, e que tirou os vossos pais da terra do Egito.
7 Now, therefore, take your stand and let me plead with you, before Yahweh,and tell you all the righteous acts of Yahweh, which he wrought with you, and with your fathers:
7 Agora, portanto, aquietai-vos, para que eu possa arrazoar convosco diante do SENHOR sobre todos os atos justos do SENHOR, os quais ele fez a vós e aos vossos pais.
8 How that, when Jacob had come into Egypt,and your fathers had made outcry unto Yahweh, then Yahweh sent Moses and Aaron, and they brought forth your fathers out of Egypt, and he caused them to dwell in this place;
8 Quando Jacó chegou ao Egito, e os vossos pais clamaram ao SENHOR, então o SENHOR enviou Moisés e Arão, os quais libertaram os vossos pais do Egito, e fizeram com que eles habitassem neste lugar.
9 And, when they forgat Yahweh their God, he sold them into the hand of Sisera, prince of the host of Jabin, king of Hazor, and into the hand of the Philistines, and into the hand of the king of Moab, and they fought against them;
9 E, quando eles se esqueceram do SENHOR, seu Deus, ele os vendeu à mão de Sísera, capitão do exército de Hazor, e à mão dos filisteus, e à mão do rei de Moabe, e eles lutaram contra eles.
10 But, when they made outcry unto Yahweh and saidWe have sinned, in that we have forsaken Yahweh, and have served the Baals and the Ashtoreths,now, therefore, deliver us out of the hand of our enemies, that we may serve thee,
10 E eles clamaram ao SENHOR, e disseram: Pecamos, porque abandonamos o SENHOR, e servindo os baalins e Astarote; mas, agora, livra-nos da mão dos nossos inimigos, e te serviremos.
11 then Yahweh sent Jerubbaal and Bedan, and Jephthah, and Samuel,and delivered you out of the hand of your enemies, on every side, and ye dwelt in safety.
11 E o SENHOR enviou Jerubaal, e Baraque, e Jefté, e Samuel, e vos libertou da mão dos vossos inimigos de todos os lados, e vós habitastes seguros.
12 But, when ye saw that, Nahash king of the sons of Ammon, came upon you, then said ye unto me, Nay! but, a king, shall reign over us, when, Yahweh your God, was your king!
12 E, quando vós vistes que Naás, o rei dos filhos de Amom, vinha contra vós, dissestes-me: Não, mas um rei reinará sobre nós; quando o SENHOR, vosso Deus, era o vosso rei.
13 Now, therefore, lo! the king whom ye have chosen, for whom ye have asked,lo! therefore, Yahweh hath set over you a king.
13 Agora, portanto, contemplai o rei a quem escolhestes, e a quem desejastes! E, eis que o SENHOR colocou sobre vós um rei.
14 If ye will revere Yahweh, and serve him, and hearken unto his voice, and not rebel against the bidding of Yahweh, then shall, both ye and your king that reigneth over you, continue to follow after Yahweh your God.
14 Se vós temerdes ao SENHOR, e servi-lo, e obedecerdes à sua voz, e não vos rebelardes contra o mandamento do SENHOR; então, tanto vós, como o vosso rei, que sobre vós reina, continuareis a seguir o SENHOR vosso Deus;
15 But, if ye hearken not unto the voice of Yahweh, but rebel against the bidding of Yahweh, then will the hand of Yahweh continue to be against you, and against your fathers.
15 mas, se não obedecerdes à voz do SENHOR, e vos rebelardes contra o mandamento do SENHOR; então a mão do SENHOR será contra vós, como foi contra os vossos pais.
16 Even now, stand still and see this great thing,which Yahweh is about to do before your eyes:
16 Agora, portanto, ficai de pé e vede esta grande coisa que o SENHOR fará diante dos vossos olhos.
17 Is it not wheat harvest, to-day? I will cry unto Yahweh, that he may give forth thunderings and rain,know ye then and see, that, your wrong, is great which ye have done in the sight of Yahweh, in asking for yourselves, a king.
17 Não é hoje o dia da colheita do trigo? Clamarei ao SENHOR, e ele enviará trovão e chuva; para que percebais e vejais que a vossa iniquidade é grande, que vós tendes cometido à vista do SENHOR ao pedir-lhe um rei.
18 So Samuel cried unto Yahweh, and Yahweh gave forth thunderings and rain, on that day,and all the people greatly feared Yahweh, and Samuel.
18 Assim, Samuel clamou ao SENHOR; e o SENHOR enviou trovão e chuva naquele dia; e todo o povo temeu muitíssimo ao SENHOR e a Samuel.
19 And all the people said unto SamuelPray for thy servants, unto Yahweh thy God, and let it not be that we die,For we have added, to all our sins, a wrong, in asking for ourselves a king.
19 E todo o povo disse a Samuel: Ora pelos teus servos ao SENHOR teu Deus, para que não pereçamos; pois a todos os nossos pecados acrescentamos este mal, ao pedirmos para nós um rei.
20 Then said Samuel unto the peopleDo not fear, ye, have done all this wrong,nevertheless, do not turn aside from following Yahweh, but serve Yahweh, with all your heart;
20 E Samuel disse ao povo: Não temais; tendes cometido toda esta iniquidade; contudo não vos desvieis de seguir ao SENHOR, mas servi ao SENHOR de todo o vosso coração;
21 and turn not aside after vanities, that can neither profit nor deliver, because, vanities, they are.
21 e não vos desvieis para o lado; pois então irieis atrás de coisas vãs, as quais não podem vos acrescentar, nem libertar; posto que são vãs.
22 For Yahweh will not give up his people, because of his great name, for Yahweh was minded to make you his people.
22 Pois o SENHOR não abandonará o seu povo por causa do seu grande nome; porque aprouve ao SENHOR fazer de vós o seu povo.
23 As for me also, far be it from me, that I should sin against Yahweh, by ceasing to pray for you,but I will direct you, in the good and right way.
23 Ademais, quanto a mim, Deus me livre de pecar contra o SENHOR ao cessar de orar por vós; mas eu vos ensinarei o bom e reto caminho;
24 Only, revere Yahweh, and serve him in truth, with all your heart,for see, what great things he hath done with you.
24 basta temer ao SENHOR, e servi-lo em verdade de todo o vosso coração; pois, considerai quão grandes coisas ele fez por vós.
25 But, if ye, will do wrong, both ye and your king shall be swept away.
25 Porém, se vós continuardes procedendo iniquamente, sereis consumidos, tanto vós, como o vosso rei.
