5 yourselves also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.

8 and a stone of stumbling and rock of offence; {who} stumble at the word, being disobedient to which also they have been appointed.
9 Pero gamcunaga juc ayllu acrashganö carmi, juc santa naciun marcachö imayca mandacug sacerdötinö Dios Yayapa car imaypis serviycäyanqui. Tsaypagmi tutapaychönö cawaycäyaptiqui gayar imayca cushicuy actsiman jipiyäshushcanqui. Tsaymi gamcunaga Dios Yaya alläpa poderöso canganta willacurnin alabayanqui.
9 But *ye* {are} a chosen race, a kingly priesthood, a holy nation, a people for a possession, that ye might set forth the excellencies of him who has called you out of darkness to his wonderful light;
10 Gamcunaga manam puntataga ni juc marcallapis cayargayquitsu, cananmi sïga Dios Yayapa marcan cayanqui. Puntataga Dios Yaya manam llaquiyäshurgayquitsu, pero cananmi sïga rasumpa cuyarnin llaquipäyäshunqui.
10 who once {were} not a people, but now God's people; who were not enjoying mercy, but now have found mercy.
11 Cuyashga waugecuna y panicuna, cay patsachö imayca forastëru gorpanölla cayaptiquim rugayag, cawayniquicunachö llutan mana alli munayniquicunata dëjayänayquipag. Tsay mana alli munaynintsiccunam almantsicpa contran imayca lüchagnö caycan.
11 Beloved, I exhort {you}, as strangers and sojourners, to abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;
12 Dios Yayaman mana criyicugcunapa puntanchöga mas shumag alli cawacuyanqui. Tsaynöpam paycunaga contrayquicuna mana allicunata parlaycarpis, llapan allicunalla rurayangayquita ricarnin, Dios Yayata alabayanga Señor Jesucristo cay patsaman cutimungan junagpis.
12 having your conversation honest among the Gentiles, that {as to that} in which they speak against you as evildoers, they may through {your} good works, {themselves} witnessing {them}, glorify God in {the} day of visitation.
13 Señor Jesucristoraycu marcayquicunachö mandacug llapan autoridäcunata cäsurnin respetayanqui. Tsay marcachö reytapis cäsurnin respetayanqui, payga mas mandacug autoridä canganpita.

14 or to rulers as sent by him, for vengeance on evildoers, and praise to them that do well.
15 Dios Yaya munangannö cawacuyga caynömi: Llapan imaycatapis allicunallata rurar, mana ima musyag mana alli rurag jutsasapa runacunatapis upällatsiyanqui.
15 Because so is the will of God, that by well-doing ye put to silence the ignorance of senseless men;
16 Gamcunaga librina shumag alli portacurnin cawacuyay. Pero ama libri cayniquicunawan waquincag mana alli rurag runacunanöga cayanquitsu. Sinöga manana ni ima mana allicunatapis rurarnin, Dios Yayapa servignin cayay.
16 as free, and not as having liberty as a cloak of malice, but as God's bondmen.
17 Llapan runacunatapis shumag respëtuyquicunawan ricäyanqui. Criyicugmajiquicunata cuyarnin Dios Yayapita mantsacur, tsay marcachö reytapis respetayanqui.
17 Shew honour to all, love the brotherhood, fear God, honour the king.
18 Servicugcuna, patronniquicunata respetarnin cäsuyay. Alli llaquipäcug cangallanpitaga ama respetayanquitsu, sinöga mana alli captinpis respetayanquilla.
18 Servants, {be} subject with all fear to your masters, not only to the good and gentle, but also to the ill-tempered.
19 Dios Yaya munangannö cawayangayquiraycu, manacagcunapita sufritsiyäshuptiquipis mana ajayar awantacuyay. Tsaynö sufriyangayquipitam Dios Yayapa puntanchöpis mas alli rurag cayanqui.
19 For this {is} acceptable, if one, for conscience sake towards God, endure griefs, suffering unjustly.
20 Pero ¿imapagtan välenman sufritsiyäshungayquita awantayangayquipis, mana allicunata rurayangayquipita castigäyäshuptiquiga? Tsaypa rantinga imaycata sufrirpis allicunallata rurar awantacuyanqui, Dios Yayapa puntanchöpis aläbashga cayänayquipag.
20 For what glory {is it}, if sinning and being buffeted ye shall bear {it}? but if, doing good and suffering, ye shall bear {it}, this is acceptable with God.
21 Tsaypagmi Dios Yaya gayayäshurgayqui, gamcunaraycu Señor Jesucristo imayca juc ejemplunö sufringanpita, gamcunapis Pay sufringannölla sufrirnin sïgiyänayquipag.
21 For to this have ye been called; for Christ also has suffered for you, leaving you a model that ye should follow in his steps:
