1 Why do the nations conspire together and rage? Why do the peoples plot in vain?
1 Por que se amotinam as nações, e os povos imaginam coisas vãs?
2 The kings of the earth take their stand and the rulers gather together against Jehovah and against his Anointed One.
2 Os reis da terra se levantam, e os príncipes juntos se mancomunam contra o Senhor e contra o seu ungido, dizendo:
3 They say: »Let us break their chains of control and throw off their oppressive rule.«
3 Rompamos as suas ataduras e sacudamos de nós as suas cordas.
4 The One who dwells in heaven laughs. Jehovah scoffs at them.
4 Aquele que habita nos céus se rirá; o Senhor zombará deles.
5 Then he rebukes them in his anger and terrifies them in his rage fury. He says:
5 Então, lhes falará na sua ira e no seu furor os confundirá.
6 »I have installed anointedestablished my king on Zion, my holy mountain.«
6 Eu, porém, ungi o meu Rei sobre o meu santo monte Sião.
7 I will proclaim the decree of Jehovah: He said to me: »You are my Son. Today I have become your Father. I have begotten you.
7 Recitarei o decreto: O Senhor me disse: Tu és meu Filho; eu hoje te gerei.
8 »Ask of me, and I will make the nations your inheritance, the ends of the earth your possession.
8 Pede-me, e eu te darei as nações por herança e os confins da terra por tua possessão.
9 »You will rule them with an iron scepter. You will dash them to pieces like pottery!«
9 Tu os esmigalharás com uma vara de ferro; tu os despedaçarás como a um vaso de oleiro.
10 Listen you kings, be wise show discernment and be warned you rulers of the earth.
10 Agora, pois, ó reis, sede prudentes; deixai-vos instruir, juízes da terra.
11 Serve Jehovah with deep respect and rejoice with trembling.
11 Servi ao Senhor com temor e alegrai-vos com tremor.
12 Kiss the Son, lest he be angry and you be destroyed in your way, for his wrath can flare up in a moment. Blessed happy are all who take refuge put trust in him.
12 Beijai o Filho, para que se não ire, e pereçais no caminho, quando em breve se inflamar a sua ira. Bem-aventurados todos aqueles que nele confiam.
