¹ Aleluia! Louve, ó minha alma, o

² I will praise Jehovah while I live. I will sing praises to my God while I have my being.

² Louvarei o Senhor durante a minha vida; cantarei louvores ao meu Deus enquanto eu viver.

³ Do not trust in princes, in mortal man, in whom there is no salvation.

³ Não confiem em príncipes, nem nos filhos dos homens, em quem não há salvação.

⁴ His spirit Hebrew: ruach, breath, life departs, he returns to the earth; in that very day his thoughts perish come to an end.

⁴ Sai-lhes o espírito, e eles voltam ao pó; nesse mesmo dia, acabam todos os seus planos.

⁵ How blessed is he whose help is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in Jehovah his God!

⁶ He made heaven and earth, the sea and all that is in them. He keeps truth faith forever!

⁷ He executes justice for the oppressed. He gives food to the hungry. Jehovah sets the prisoners free.

⁸ Jehovah opens the eyes of the blind. Jehovah raises up those who are bowed down. Jehovah loves the righteous.

⁹ Jehovah protects the strangers. He supports the fatherless and the widow, but he overthrows the way of the wicked.

¹⁰ Jehovah will be king forever, Your God, O Zion, to all generations. Praise Jehovah!
