1 Let me sing to my loved one a song of my beloved concerning his vineyard: My loved one had a vineyard on a fertile hill.
1 Agora cantarei ao meu amado o cântico do meu querido a respeito da sua vinha. O meu amado tem uma vinha num outeiro fértil.
2 He dug the soil all around and removed its stones. He planted it with the choicest vine. And he built a tower in the middle of it and also hewed out a wine vat in it. Then he expected it to produce good grapes, but it only produced worthless ones.
2 E cercou-a, e limpando-a das pedras, plantou-a de excelentes vides; e edificou no meio dela uma torre, e também construiu nela um lagar; e esperava que desse uvas boas, porém deu uvas bravas.
3 »Now then, you inhabitants of Jerusalem and Judah, judge between my vineyard and me!
3 Agora, pois, ó moradores de Jerusalém, e homens de Judá, julgai, vos peço, entre mim e a minha vinha.
4 »What more could have been done for my vineyard than what I have already done for it? When I waited for it to produce good grapes, why did it produce only sour, wild grapes?
4 Que mais se podia fazer à minha vinha, que eu lhe não tenha feito? Por que, esperando eu que desse uvas boas, veio a dar uvas bravas?
5 »Here is what I am going to do to my vineyard: I will take away the hedge and break down the wall that protects it. I will let wild animals eat it and trample it down.
5 Agora, pois, vos farei saber o que eu hei de fazer à minha vinha: tirarei a sua sebe, para que sirva de pasto; derrubarei a sua parede, para que seja pisada;
6 »It will turn into a desert, neither pruned nor cultivated. It will be covered with thorns and briars. I will command the clouds not to send rain.«
6 E a tornarei em deserto; não será podada nem cavada; porém crescerão nela sarças e espinheiros; e às nuvens darei ordem que não derramem chuva sobre ela.
7 I am Jehovah of Hosts All Powerful! Israel is the vineyard, and Judah is the garden I tended with care. I had hoped for honesty and for justice, but dishonesty and cries for mercy were all I found.
7 Porque a vinha do Senhor dos Exércitos é a casa de Israel, e os homens de Judá são a planta das suas delícias; e esperou que exercesse juízo, e eis aqui opressão; justiça, e eis aqui clamor.
8 Cursed are those who are joining house to house, and putting field to field, till there is no more living-space for any but themselves in all the land!
8 Ai dos que ajuntam casa a casa, reúnem campo a campo, até que não haja mais lugar, e fiquem como únicos moradores no meio da terra!
9 With my own ears I heard Jehovah of Hosts say: »Many houses will become empty. Large, beautiful houses will be without people to live in them.
9 A meus ouvidos disse o Senhor dos Exércitos: Em verdade que muitas casas ficarão desertas, e até as grandes e excelentes sem moradores.
10 »A ten-acre vineyard will produce only six gallons of wine, and two quarts of seed will produce only four quarts of grain.«
10 E dez jeiras de vinha não darão mais do que um bato; e um ômer de semente não dará mais do que um efa.
11 How horrible it will be for those who get up early in the morning to look for a drink and who sit up late at night until they are drunk from wine.
11 Ai dos que se levantam pela manhã, e seguem a bebedice; e continuam até à noite, até que o vinho os esquente!
12 At their feasts there are lyres and harps, tambourines and flutes, and wine. Yet, they do not pay attention to what Jehovah is doing or respect what his hands have done.
12 E harpas e alaúdes, tamboris e gaitas, e vinho há nos seus banquetes; e não olham para a obra do Senhor, nem consideram as obras das suas mãos.
13 My people will go into exile because they do not understand what I am doing. Honored men will starve, and common people will be parched with thirst.
13 Portanto o meu povo será levado cativo, por falta de entendimento; e os seus nobres terão fome, e a sua multidão se secará de sede.
14 That is why the grave's appetite increases. It opens its mouth very wide so that honored people and common people will go down into it. Those who are noisy and joyous will go down into it.
14 Portanto o inferno grandemente se alargou, e se abriu a sua boca desmesuradamente; e para lá descerão o seu esplendor, e a sua multidão, e a sua pompa, e os que entre eles se alegram.
15 People will be brought down. Everyone will be humiliated and the eyes of arrogant people will be abased humbled.
15 Então o plebeu se abaterá, e o nobre se humilhará; e os olhos dos altivos se humilharão.
16 Jehovah of Hosts shows his greatness by doing what is right. He reveals his holiness by judging his people.
16 Porém o Senhor dos Exércitos será exaltado em juízo; e Deus, o Santo, será santificado em justiça.
17 In the ruins of the cities lambs will eat grass and young goats will find pasture.
17 Então os cordeiros pastarão como de costume, e os estranhos comerão dos lugares devastados pelos gordos.
18 Woe to those who scatter sin with cords of falsehood and iniquity with a cart rope!
18 Ai dos que puxam a iniqüidade com cordas de vaidade, e o pecado com tirantes de carro!
19 You say: »Let Jehovah hurry up and do what he says he will, so that we can see it. Let Israel's holy God carry out his plans. Let us see what he has in mind.«
19 E dizem: Avie-se, e acabe a sua obra, para que a vejamos; e aproxime-se e venha o conselho do Santo de Israel, para que o conheçamos.
20 You are doomed! You call evil good and you call good evil. You turn darkness into light and light into darkness. You make what is bitter, sweet, and what is sweet you make bitter.
20 Ai dos que ao mal chamam bem, e ao bem mal; que fazem das trevas luz, e da luz trevas; e fazem do amargo doce, e do doce amargo!
21 You are doomed! You think you are wise. You think you are so very clever.
21 Ai dos que são sábios a seus próprios olhos, e prudentes diante de si mesmos!
22 You are doomed! Heroes of the wine bottle! Brave and fearless when it comes to mixing drinks!
22 Ai dos que são poderosos para beber vinho, e homens de poder para misturar bebida forte;
23 You let the guilty go free for a bribe and you keep the innocent from getting justice.
23 Dos que justificam ao ímpio por suborno, e aos justos negam a justiça!
24 You will go up in flames like straw and hay! You have rejected the law of the holy God Jehovah the All-Powerful Holy One of Israel. Now your roots will rot, and your blossoms will turn to dust.
24 Por isso, como a língua de fogo consome a palha, e o restolho se desfaz pela chama, assim será a sua raiz como podridão, e a sua flor se esvaecerá como pó; porquanto rejeitaram a lei do Senhor dos Exércitos, e desprezaram a palavra do Santo de Israel.
25 You are Jehovahs people, but you made him terribly angry, and he struck you with his mighty arm. Mountains shook, and dead bodies covered the streets like garbage. Jehovah is still angry. He is ready to strike you again.
25 Por isso se acendeu a ira do Senhor contra o seu povo, e estendeu a sua mão contra ele, e o feriu, de modo que as montanhas tremeram, e os seus cadáveres se fizeram como lixo no meio das ruas; com tudo isto não tornou atrás a sua ira, mas a sua mão ainda está estendida.
26 Jehovah raises up a flag for the nations far away. With a whistle he signals those at the ends of the earth. Look, they are coming very quickly!
26 E ele arvorará o estandarte para as nações de longe, e lhes assobiará para que venham desde a extremidade da terra; e eis que virão apressurada e ligeiramente.
27 None of them grow tired or stumble. None of them slumber or sleep. The belts on their waists are not loose or their sandal straps broken.
27 Não haverá entre eles cansado, nem quem tropece; ninguém tosquenejará nem dormirá; não se lhe desatará o cinto dos seus lombos, nem se lhe quebrará a correia dos seus sapatos.
28 Their arrows are sharpened. All their bows are strung and ready to shoot. Their horses' hoofs are as hard as flint. Their chariot wheels are as quick as the wind.
28 As suas flechas serão agudas, e todos os seus arcos retesados; os cascos dos seus cavalos são reputados como pederneiras, e as rodas dos seus carros como redemoinho.
29 They roar like a lioness. They growl like a young lion. They growl as they snatch their prey and carry it off to where no one can rescue it.
29 O seu rugido será como o do leão; rugirão como filhos de leão; sim, rugirão e arrebatarão a presa, e a levarão, e não haverá quem a livre.
30 In that day they will roar over their prey as the sea roars. If they look at the land, they will see only darkness and distress. Thick clouds will darken even the light.
30 E bramarão contra eles naquele dia, como o bramido do mar; então olharão para a terra, e eis que só verão trevas e ânsia, e a luz se escurecerá nos céus.
