3 For Mordecai the Jew was second only to King Ahasuerus. He was great among the Jews and respected by the body of his countrymen. He worked for the good of his people. He said words of peace to all his descendents.
3 O judeu Mardoqueu ocupou o cargo mais alto do reino, abaixo apenas do próprio rei Xerxes. Era muito importante entre os judeus, que o tinham em alta consideração, pois ele continuou a trabalhar para o bem de seu povo e a buscar o bem-estar de todos os seus descendentes.
