New International Version (NIV) vs BKJ
1 A prophecy concerning Nineveh. The book of the vision of Nahum the Elkoshite.
1 O peso de Nínive. O livro da visão de Naum, o elcosita.
2 The LORD is a jealous and avenging God; the LORD takes vengeance and is filled with wrath. The LORD takes vengeance on his foes and vents his wrath against his enemies.
2 O SENHOR é Deus ciumento e vingador; o SENHOR vinga-se e é cheio de furor; o SENHOR toma vingança contra os seus adversários, e reserva a ira contra os seus inimigos.
3 The LORD is slow to anger but great in power; the LORD will not leave the guilty unpunished. His way is in the whirlwind and the storm, and clouds are the dust of his feet.
3 O SENHOR é tardio em irar-se, e grande em poder, e não irá de forma alguma absolver o perverso; o SENHOR tem o seu caminho no vendaval e na tempestade, e as nuvens são o pó dos seus pés.
4 He rebukes the sea and dries it up; he makes all the rivers run dry. Bashan and Carmel wither and the blossoms of Lebanon fade.
4 Ele repreende o mar, e o faz secar, e esgota todos os rios; desfalecem Basã e o Carmelo, e a flor do Líbano murcha.
5 The mountains quake before him and the hills melt away. The earth trembles at his presence, the world and all who live in it.
5 Os montes estremecem diante dele, e as colinas derretem; a terra é queimada em sua presença; sim, o mundo, e todos os que nele habitam.
6 Who can withstand his indignation? Who can endure his fierce anger? His wrath is poured out like fire; the rocks are shattered before him.
6 Quem pode resistir diante da sua indignação? E quem permanecerá diante do ardor da sua ira? A sua fúria é derramada como fogo, e por ele as rochas são derrubadas.
7 The LORD is good, a refuge in times of trouble. He cares for those who trust in him,
7 O SENHOR é bom, uma fortaleza no dia da dificuldade; ele conhece os que confiam nele.
8 but with an overwhelming flood he will make an end of Nineveh; he will pursue his foes into the realm of darkness.
8 Mas com uma inundação transbordante ele dará um fim absoluto ao seu lugar, e as trevas perseguirão os seus inimigos.
9 Whatever they plot against the LORD he will bring "to an end; trouble will not come a second time.
9 Que imaginais vós contra o SENHOR? Ele vos consumirá por completo; a aflição não se levantará uma segunda vez.
10 They will be entangled among thorns and drunk from their wine; they will be consumed like dry stubble. [^2]
10 Ainda que eles se entrelacem como espinhos, e se encham de bebida como bêbados, serão devorados como palha seca.
11 From you, Nineveh, has one come forth who plots evil against the LORD and devises wicked plans.
11 Há um que saiu de ti, e que maquinou o mal contra o SENHOR, um conselheiro perverso.
12 This is what the LORD says: "Although they have allies and are numerous, they will be destroyed and pass away. Although I have afflicted you, Judah, I will afflict you no more.
12 Assim diz o SENHOR: Embora sejam quietos e em grande número, ainda assim serão exterminados, e ele passará; ainda que eu tenha te afligido, não te afligirei mais.
13 Now I will break their yoke from your neck and tear your shackles away."
13 Mas agora quebrarei o seu jugo de sobre ti, e romperei os teus laços.
14 The LORD has given a command concerning you, Nineveh: "You will have no descendants to bear your name. I will destroy the images and idols that are in the temple of your gods. I will prepare your grave, for you are vile."
14 E o SENHOR deu ordem a teu respeito, que não haja mais linhagem do teu nome; da casa dos teus deuses exterminarei a imagem de escultura e a imagem de fundição; eu farei a tua sepultura, pois és vil.
15 Look, there on the mountains, the feet of one who brings good news, who proclaims peace! Celebrate your festivals, Judah, and fulfill your vows. No more will the wicked invade you; they will be completely destroyed. [^3]
15 Eis sobre os montes os pés do que traz as boas novas, do que anuncia a paz! Ó Judá, guarda as tuas festas solenes, e cumpre os teus votos; pois o perverso não passará mais por ti; ele é inteiramente exterminado.
