1 For the Chief Musician. On an instrument of Gath. By Asaph.Sing aloud to God, our strength!Make a joyful shout to the God of Jacob!
1 Ao Músico-chefe, sobre Gitite, Salmo de Asafe. Cantai alto a Deus, nossa força; fazei um alegre barulho ao Deus de Jacó.
2 Raise a song, and bring here the tambourine,the pleasant lyre with the harp.
2 Tomai um salmo, e trazei junto o tamborim, a harpa agradável com o saltério.
3 Blow the trumpet at the New Moon,at the full moon, on our feast day.
3 Tocai a trombeta na lua nova, no tempo designado, em nosso solene dia de festa.
4 For it is a statute for Israel,an ordinance of the God of Jacob.
4 Pois este foi um estatuto para Israel, e uma lei do Deus de Jacó.
5 He appointed it in Joseph for a testimony,when he went out over the land of Egypt,I heard a language that I did not know.
5 Isto ele ordenou em José por testemunho, quando ele saiu pela terra do Egito, onde ouvi uma língua que eu não entendia.
6 "I removed his shoulder from the burden.His hands were freed from the basket.
6 Eu removi do seu ombro o fardo; suas mãos foram libertas dos potes.
7 You called in trouble, and I delivered you.I answered you in the secret place of thunder.I tested you at the waters of Meribah."Selah.
7 Tu clamaste na tribulação, e eu te livrei; te respondi no lugar secreto do trovão; provei-te nas águas de Meribá. Selá.
8 "Hear, my people, and I will testify to you,Israel, if you would listen to me!
8 Ouve, ó meu povo, e testemunharei a ti; ó Israel, se tu me ouvires.
9 There shall be no strange god in you,neither shall you worship any foreign god.
9 Não haverá deus estranho em ti; nem tu adorarás nenhum deus estranho.
10 I am the Lord, your God,who brought you up out of the land of Egypt.Open your mouth wide, and I will fill it.
10 Eu sou o SENHOR teu Deus, que te trouxe da terra do Egito; abre bem a tua boca, e eu a encherei.
11 But my people did not listen to my voice.Israel desired none of me.
11 Mas o meu povo não quis ouvir a minha voz, e Israel não quis nada de mim.
12 So I let them go after the stubbornness of their hearts,that they might walk in their own counsels.
12 Então, eu os entreguei à luxúria dos seus próprios corações, e eles caminharam em seus próprios conselhos.
13 Oh that my people would listen to me,that Israel would walk in my ways!
13 Oh, se meu povo tivesse me ouvido, e Israel tivesse andado em meus caminhos!
14 I would soon subdue their enemies,and turn my hand against their adversaries.
14 Eu logo teria subjugado os seus inimigos, e virado minha mão contra os seus adversários.
15 The haters of the Lord would cringe before him,and their punishment would last forever.
15 Os que odeiam o SENHOR deveriam ter se submetido a ele; mas o seu tempo duraria para sempre.
16 But he would have also fed them with the finest of the wheat.I will satisfy you with honey out of the rock."
16 Ele os teria alimentado com o mais fino do trigo; e eu te satisfaria com o mel tirado da rocha.
