1 A Song of Ascents.Many times they have afflicted me from my youth up.Let Israel now say,
1 Muitas vezes me angustiaram desde a minha mocidade, Israel que o diga;
2 many times they have afflicted me from my youth up,yet they have not prevailed against me.
2 desde a minha mocidade, me angustiaram, todavia, não prevaleceram contra mim.
3 The plowers plowed on my back.They made their furrows long.
3 Sobre o meu dorso lavraram os aradores; nele abriram longos sulcos.
4 The Lord is righteous.He has cut apart the cords of the wicked.
4 Mas o Senhor é justo; cortou as cordas dos ímpios.
5 Let them be disappointed and turned backward,all those who hate Zion.
5 Sejam envergonhados e repelidos todos os que aborrecem a Sião!
6 Let them be as the grass on the housetops,which withers before it grows up;
6 Sejam como a erva dos telhados, que seca antes de florescer,
7 with which the reaper doesn't fill his hand,nor he who binds sheaves, his bosom.
7 com a qual não enche a mão o ceifeiro, nem os braços, o que ata os feixes!
8 Neither do those who go by say,"The blessing of the Lord be on you.We bless you in the name of the Lord."
