1 My son, if you will receive my words,and store up my commandments within you;
1 Meu filho, se você aceitar as minhas palavras e guardar no coração os meus mandamentos;
2 So as to turn your ear to wisdom,and apply your heart to understanding;
2 se der ouvidos à sabedoria e inclinar o coração para o discernimento;
3 Yes, if you call out for discernment,and lift up your voice for understanding;
3 se clamar por entendimento e por discernimento gritar bem alto,
4 If you seek her as silver,and search for her as for hidden treasures:
4 se procurar a sabedoria como se procura a prata e buscá-la como quem busca um tesouro escondido,
5 then you will understand the fear of the Lord,and find the knowledge of God.
5 então você entenderá o que é temer ao Senhor e achará o conhecimento de Deus.
6 For the Lord gives wisdom.Out of his mouth comes knowledge and understanding.
6 Pois o Senhor é quem dá sabedoria; de sua boca procedem o conhecimento e o discernimento.
7 He lays up sound wisdom for the upright.He is a shield to those who walk in integrity;
7 Ele reserva a sensatez para o justo; como um escudo protege quem anda com integridade,
8 that he may guard the paths of justice,and preserve the way of his holy ones.
8 pois guarda a vereda do justo e protege o caminho de seus fiéis.
9 Then you will understand righteousness and justice,equity and every good path.
9 Então você entenderá o que é justo, direito e certo, e aprenderá os caminhos do bem.
10 For wisdom will enter into your heart.Knowledge will be pleasant to your soul.
10 Pois a sabedoria entrará em seu coração, e o conhecimento será agradável à sua alma.
11 Discretion will watch over you.Understanding will keep you,
11 O bom senso o guardará, e o discernimento o protegerá.
12 to deliver you from the way of evil,from the men who speak perverse things;
12 A sabedoria o livrará do caminho dos maus, dos homens de palavras perversas,
13 who forsake the paths of uprightness,to walk in the ways of darkness;
13 que abandonam as veredas retas para andar por caminhos de trevas,
14 who rejoice to do evil,and delight in the perverseness of evil;
14 têm prazer em fazer o mal e exultam com a maldade dos perversos,
15 who are crooked in their ways,and wayward in their paths:
15 gente que anda por veredas tortuosas, e no caminho se extraviam.
16 To deliver you from the strange woman,even from the foreigner who flatters with her words;
16 Ela também o livrará da mulher imoral, da pervertida que seduz com suas palavras,
17 who forsakes the friend of her youth,and forgets the covenant of her God:
17 que abandona aquele que desde a juventude foi seu companheiro e ignora a aliança que fez diante de Deus.
18 for her house leads down to death,her paths to the dead.
18 Ela se dirige para morte, que é a sua casa, e os seus caminhos levam às sombras.
19 None who go to her return again,neither do they attain to the paths of life:
19 Os que a ela procuram jamais voltarão, nem tornarão a encontrar as veredas da vida.
20 that you may walk in the way of good men,and keep the paths of the righteous.
20 A sabedoria o fará andar nos caminhos dos homens de bem e a manter-se nas veredas dos justos.
21 For the upright will dwell in the land.The perfect will remain in it.
21 Pois os justos habitarão na terra, e os íntegros nela permanecerão;
22 But the wicked will be cut off from the land.The treacherous will be rooted out of it.
22 mas os ímpios serão eliminados da terra, e dela os infiéis serão arrancados.
