Ezequiel 15

1 The word of the Lord came to me, saying,
1 E a palavra do SENHOR veio a mim, dizendo:
2 "Son of man, what is the vine tree more than any tree, the vine-branch which is among the trees of the forest?
2 Filho do homem, o que é a árvore da videira mais do que qualquer outra árvore, ou do que um galho que está entre as árvores da floresta?
3 Shall wood be taken of it to make any work? Or will men take a pin of it to hang any vessel thereon?
3 Será a madeira tirada de lá para se fazer alguma obra? Ou homens tomarão um pino dela para pendurar-lhe algum vaso?
4 Behold, it is cast into the fire for fuel; the fire has devoured both its ends, and its midst is burned: is it profitable for any work?
4 Eis que é lançado no fogo, por combustível; o fogo devora ambas as suas extremidades, e o meio dela é queimado; servirá para qualquer obra?
5 Behold, when it was whole, it was meet for no work: how much less, when the fire has devoured it, and it is burned, shall it yet be meet for any work!
5 Eis que, quando estava inteiro, não servia para obra alguma, quanto menos agora, quando o fogo o tiver devorado, e estiver queimado! Servirá para algo?
6 "Therefore thus says the Lord God: 'As the vine tree among the trees of the forest, which I have given to the fire for fuel, so will I give the inhabitants of Jerusalem.
6 Portanto, assim diz o Senhor DEUS: Como a árvore da videira entre as árvores da floresta, que entreguei ao fogo por combustível, assim entregarei os habitantes de Jerusalém.
7 I will set my face against them; they shall go forth from the fire, but the fire shall devour them; and you shall know that I am the Lord, when I set my face against them.
7 E eu colocarei a minha face contra eles; eles sairão de um fogo e outro fogo os devorará; e sabereis que eu sou o SENHOR, quando eu colocar a minha face contra eles.
8 I will make the land desolate, because they have committed a trespass,' says the Lord God."
8 E tornarei a terra assolada, porque cometeram uma transgressão, diz o Senhor DEUS.
