1 From Paul, a slave of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, set apart for a gospel of God,
1 Paulo, servo de Cristo Jesus, chamado para ser apóstolo, separado para o evangelho de Deus,
2 which through his prophets he promised beforetime, in holy writings;
2 o qual foi prometido por ele de antemão por meio dos seus profetas nas Escrituras Sagradas,
3 this gospel is concerning his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord, who was born of Davids posterity in respect of his bodily nature,
3 acerca de seu Filho, que, como homem, era descendente de Davi,
4 but was by his resurrection from the dead instated as Son of God, with power, in respect of his spirit of holiness.
4 e que mediante o Espírito de santidade foi declarado Filho de Deus com poder, pela sua ressurreição dentre os mortos: Jesus Cristo, nosso Senhor.
5 It is through him, even Jesus Christ our Lord, that I received grace and apostleship to promote obedience to the faith among all the Gentiles, for his names sake;
5 Por meio dele e por causa do seu nome, recebemos graça e apostolado para chamar dentre todas as nações um povo para a obediência que vem pela fé.
6 among whom you also are called to be Jesus Christs.
6 E vocês também estão entre os chamados para pertencerem a Jesus Cristo.
7 To all that are in Rome, beloved of God, called to be saints. May God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ, bless you, and give you peace.
7 A todos os que em Roma são amados de Deus e chamados para serem santos: A vocês, graça e paz da parte de Deus nosso Pai e do Senhor Jesus Cristo.
8 First I thank my God, through Jesus Christ, for all of you, because your faith is being proclaimed throughout all the world.
8 Antes de tudo, sou grato a meu Deus, mediante Jesus Cristo, por todos vocês, porque em todo o mundo está sendo anunciada a fé que vocês têm.
9 God is my witness, to whom I render holy service in my spirit in the gospel of his Son, how unceasingly I am ever making mention of you in my prayers,
9 Deus, a quem sirvo de todo o coração pregando o evangelho de seu Filho, é minha testemunha de como sempre me lembro de vocês
10 always entreating him that now at length, if such be his will, the way may be made clear for me to come to you.
10 em minhas orações; e peço que agora, finalmente, pela vontade de Deus, seja-me aberto o caminho para que eu possa visitá-los.
11 For I am longing so to see you, in order to impart to you some spiritual gift, so that you may be established;
11 Anseio vê-los, a fim de compartilhar com vocês algum dom espiritual, para fortalecê-los,
12 that is, that I with you may be encouraged by you, each of us by the others faith, yours and mine.
12 isto é, para que eu e vocês sejamos mutuamente encorajados pela fé.
13 I want you to know, brothers, that many a time I have planned to come to you - though until now I have been hindered - so as to have some harvest-fruit among you also, even as I have among the rest of the Gentiles.
13 Quero que vocês saibam, irmãos, que muitas vezes planejei visitá-los, mas fui impedido de fazê-lo até agora. Meu propósito é colher algum fruto entre vocês, assim como tenho colhido entre os demais gentios.
14 To Greeks and to barbarians, to the cultured and to the uncultured, I have a debt to discharge.
14 Sou devedor tanto a gregos como a bárbaros, tanto a sábios como a ignorantes.
15 So much as in me is, I am ready to preach the gospel to you also who are in Rome.
15 Por isso estou disposto a pregar o evangelho também a vocês que estão em Roma.
16 FOR I AM PROUD OF THE GOSPEL. IT IS GODS SAVING POWER FOR EVERY ONE WHO BELIEVES. FOR THE JEW FIRST, AND ALSO FOR THE GENTILE.
16 Não me envergonho do evangelho, porque é o poder de Deus para a salvação de todo aquele que crê: primeiro do judeu, depois do grego.
17 FOR IN IT IS BEING REVEALED A RIGHTEOUSNESS WHICH PROCEEDS FROM GOD, FROM FAITH UNTO FAITH; AS IT IS WRITTEN.
17 Porque no evangelho é revelada a justiça de Deus, uma justiça que do princípio ao fim é pela fé, como está escrito: "O justo viverá pela fé".
18 For Gods wrath is ever being revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who smother the truth by their unrighteousness.
18 Portanto, a ira de Deus é revelada do céu contra toda impiedade e injustiça dos homens que suprimem a verdade pela injustiça,
19 This is so because that which may be known of God is manifest among them; for God has made it manifest to them.
19 pois o que de Deus se pode conhecer é manifesto entre eles, porque Deus lhes manifestou.
20 For ever since the creation of the world his invisible nature, even his everlasting power and divinity, has been clearly seen, being perceived through the things that are made. So they have no excuse.
20 Pois desde a criação do mundo os atributos invisíveis de Deus, seu eterno poder e sua natureza divina, têm sido vistos claramente, sendo compreendidos por meio das coisas criadas, de forma que tais homens são indesculpáveis;
21 For although they knew God, yet they did not glorify him as God, nor give him thanks; but became vain in their reasoning, and their senseless minds were darkened.
21 porque, tendo conhecido a Deus, não o glorificaram como Deus, nem lhe renderam graças, mas os seus pensamentos tornaram-se fúteis e os seus corações insensatos se obscureceram.
22 While they professed to be wise, they became fools,
22 Dizendo-se sábios, tornaram-se loucos
23 and exchanged the majesty of the imperishable God for an idol, graven in the likeness of perishable man, or of birds and four-footed beasts and creeping things.
23 e trocaram a glória do Deus imortal por imagens feitas segundo a semelhança do homem mortal, bem como de pássaros, quadrúpedes e répteis.
24 So God gave them up in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, to the dishonoring of their own bodies;
24 Por isso Deus os entregou à impureza sexual, segundo os desejos pecaminosos dos seus corações, para a degradação dos seus corpos entre si.
25 because they exchanged the truth of God for an untruth, and worshiped and served the creature, rather than the Creator who is blessed forever. Amen.
25 Trocaram a verdade de Deus pela mentira, e adoraram e serviram a coisas e seres criados, em lugar do Criador, que é bendito para sempre. Amém.
26 That is why God has given them up to passions of dishonor; for on the one hand their women actually changed the natural function of sex into that which is against nature;
26 Por causa disso Deus os entregou a paixões vergonhosas. Até suas mulheres trocaram suas relações sexuais naturais por outras, contrárias à natureza.
27 and on the other hand their men likewise abandoned the natural use of women, and were ablaze with passion for one another; men with men practising shameless acts and receiving in their own person that recompense of their wrong-doing which necessarily followed.
27 Da mesma forma, os homens também abandonaram as relações naturais com as mulheres e se inflamaram de paixão uns pelos outros. Começaram a cometer atos indecentes, homens com homens, e receberam em si mesmos o castigo merecido pela sua perversão.
28 And just as they refused to continue to retain God in their knowledge, so did God cast them out to an outcast mind, to do those things which were indecent.
28 Além do mais, visto que desprezaram o conhecimento de Deus, ele os entregou a uma disposição mental reprovável, para praticarem o que não deviam.
29 They were overflowing with every kind of iniquity, depravity, greed, and malice. They were full of envy, murder, quarreling, deceit, and malignity.
29 Tornaram-se cheios de toda sorte de injustiça, maldade, ganância e depravação. Estão cheios de inveja, homicídio, rivalidades, engano e malícia. São bisbilhoteiros,
30 They became whisperers, back-biters, hated of God, insolent, haughty, boastful. They invented sins. They were disobedient to parents.
30 caluniadores, inimigos de Deus, insolentes, arrogantes e presunçosos; inventam maneiras de praticar o mal; desobedecem a seus pais;
31 They were without sense, without faith, without natural affection, without mercy.
31 são insensatos, desleais, sem amor pela família, implacáveis.
32 Though they knew well the ordinance of God, that those who practise such vices are worthy of death, they not only continue to do the same, but were even applauding those who practise vice.
32 Embora conheçam o justo decreto de Deus, de que as pessoas que praticam tais coisas merecem a morte, não somente continuam a praticá-las, mas também aprovam aqueles que as praticam.
