1 On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, while it was yet dark, Mary Magdalene came to the tomb and discovered that the stone had been removed from the tomb.
1 Domingo bem cedo, quando ainda estava escuro, Maria Madalena foi até o túmulo e viu que a pedra que tapava a entrada tinha sido tirada.
2 So she came running to Simon Peter and that other disciple whom Jesus loved, saying, "They have taken the Master out of the tomb, and we do not know where they have laid him!"
2 Então foi correndo até o lugar onde estavam Simão Pedro e outro discípulo, aquele que Jesus amava, e disse: — Tiraram o Senhor Jesus do túmulo, e não sabemos onde o puseram!
3 So Peter and the other disciples set out at once to go to the tomb.
3 Então Pedro e o outro discípulo foram até o túmulo.
4 They both began to run; and the other disciple ran faster than Peter, and came first to the tomb.
4 Os dois saíram correndo juntos, mas o outro correu mais depressa do que Pedro e chegou primeiro.
5 Stooping down he glanced in and saw the linen wrapping lying on the ground; but he did not go in.
5 Ele se abaixou para olhar lá dentro e viu os lençóis de linho; porém não entrou no túmulo.
6 Then Peter also came following him, and he went inside the tomb; and he gazed at the linen wrapping as they lay,
6 Mas Pedro, que chegou logo depois, entrou. Ele também viu os lençóis colocados ali
7 and the napkin which had been about his head not lying with the wrappings, but rolled up in its own place.
7 e a faixa que tinham posto em volta da cabeça de Jesus. A faixa não estava junto com os lençóis, mas estava enrolada ali ao lado.
8 Then the other disciple also who arrived first at the tomb went inside, and he perceived and believed.
8 Aí o outro discípulo, que havia chegado primeiro, também entrou no túmulo. Ele viu e creu.
9 For not yet had they understood the Scripture, that he must rise again from the dead.
9 (Eles ainda não tinham entendido as Escrituras Sagradas , que dizem que era preciso que Jesus ressuscitasse.)
10 Then the disciples went back again to their home.
10 E os dois voltaram para casa.
11 Meanwhile, outside, Mary stood sobbing near the tomb. Still sobbing she stooped and looked into the tomb,

12 and gazed at two angels in glistening white sitting, one at the head the other at the feet, where the body of Jesus had lain.
12 e viu dois anjos vestidos de branco, sentados onde tinha sido posto o corpo de Jesus. Um estava na cabeceira, e o outro, nos pés.
13 They said to her, "Woman, why are you weeping?" She answered, "Because they have taken away my Master, and I do not know where they have laid him."
13 Os anjos perguntaram: — Mulher, por que você está chorando? Ela respondeu: — Levaram embora o meu Senhor, e eu não sei onde o puseram!
14 When she had said this she turned around and saw Jesus standing there, but did not know that it was Jesus.
14 Depois de dizer isso, ela virou para trás e viu Jesus ali de pé, mas não o reconheceu.
15 Jesus said to her. "Woman, why are you weeping? Whom are you seeking? She, supposing that he was the gardener, said to him, "Sir, if you have borne him away, tell me where you have put him, and I will take him away, myself."
15 Então Jesus perguntou: Ela pensou que ele era o jardineiro e por isso respondeu: — Se o senhor o tirou daqui, diga onde o colocou, e eu irei buscá-lo.
16 "Mary," said Jesus. She turned to him. "Rabboni!" she cried in Hebrew. That is to say, "Teacher."
16 — Maria! — disse Jesus. Ela virou e respondeu em — “Rabôni!” (Esta palavra quer dizer “Mestre”.)
17 "Do not cling to me," said Jesus, "for I am not yet ascended to the Father. But go to my brothers and say to them, "I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God."
17 Jesus disse:
18 Away went Mary Magdalene to the disciples with the tidings, "I have seen the Master!" and that he said these things to her.
18 Então Maria Madalena foi e disse aos discípulos de Jesus: — Eu vi o Senhor! E contou o que Jesus lhe tinha dito.
19 On the evening of that same day, the first day of the week, although the doors of the room where the disciples gathered had been locked for fear of the Jews, Jesus came, and there he stood among them, saying. "Peace to you!"
19 Naquele mesmo domingo, à tarde, os discípulos de Jesus estavam reunidos de portas trancadas, com medo dos líderes judeus. Então Jesus chegou, ficou no meio deles e disse:
20 As he said this he showed them his hands and his side. Then were the disciple glad, when they saw the Lord.
20 Em seguida lhes mostrou as suas mãos e o seu lado. E eles ficaram muito alegres ao verem o Senhor.
21 Then Jesus said to them again. "Peace to you. As my Father has sent me forth, I also now am sending you."
21 Então Jesus disse de novo:
22 When he had said this he breathed upon them and said.
22 Depois soprou sobre eles e disse:
23 "Receive the Holy Spirit. If you remit any ones sins, they are remitted; if you retain them they are retained."
23 Se vocês perdoarem os pecados de alguém, esses pecados são perdoados; mas, se não perdoarem, eles não são perdoados.
24 But Thomas, one of the Twelve, who was called "The Twin." was not with them when Jesus came.
24 Acontece que Tomé, um dos discípulos, que era chamado de “o Gêmeo”, não estava com eles quando Jesus chegou.
25 Accordingly the other disciples kept telling him, "We have seen the Lord." But he told them, "Unless I see in his hands the print of the nails, and thrust my finger into the print of the nails, and thrust my hand into his side, I will not believe it."
25 Então os outros discípulos disseram a Tomé: — Nós vimos o Senhor! Ele respondeu: — Se eu não vir o sinal dos pregos nas mãos dele, e não tocar ali com o meu dedo, e também se não puser a minha mão no lado dele, não vou crer!
26 A week later his disciples were again in the house, and Thomas was with them. Jesus came, although the doors were locked, and stood there among and said. "Peace to you!"
26 Uma semana depois, os discípulos de Jesus estavam outra vez reunidos ali com as portas trancadas, e Tomé estava com eles. Jesus chegou, ficou no meio deles e disse:
27 Then to Thomas he said. "Place your finger here, and see my hands; and place your hand here, and thrust it into my side, and become not unbelieving, but believing."
27 Em seguida disse a Tomé:
28 Thomas answered him, "My Lord and my God!"
28 Então Tomé exclamou: — Meu Senhor e meu Deus!
29 "Because you have seen me, Thomas, you have believed," Jesus told him. "Blessed are those who, without seeing, yet believed."
29 — Você creu porque me viu? — disse Jesus. — Felizes são os que não viram, mas assim mesmo creram!
30 There were then many other signs which Jesus performed in the presence of his disciples, which have not been written in this book;
30 Jesus fez diante dos discípulos muitos outros milagres que não estão escritos neste livro.
31 but these have been written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.
31 Mas estes foram escritos para que vocês creiam que Jesus é o Messias , o Filho de Deus. E para que, crendo, tenham vida por meio dele.
