1 The pith of all that we have been saying is this; we do have such a High Priest; and he has taken his seat on the right hand of the throne of Majesty in the heavens,
1 Ora, de todas as coisas que falamos, eis o resumo: Temos um sumo sacerdote tal, que está assentado à destra do trono da Majestade nos céus.
2 a minister of the sanctuary and of the true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched, not man.
2 Um ministro do santuário, e do verdadeiro tabernáculo, que o Senhor levantou, e não o homem.
3 For every high priest is appointed to offer both gifts and sacrifices; whence it follows that this High Priest also must have some offering to make.
3 Porque todo sumo sacerdote é ordenado para oferecer dons e sacrifícios; pelo que era necessário que esse homem também tivesse alguma coisa que oferecer.
4 Now were he on earth, he would not even be a priest, since there are here those who present the gifts according to the Law -
4 Porque, se ele estivesse na terra, não devia ser sacerdote, visto que há sacerdotes que oferecem dons segundo a lei,
5 those priests who serve a mere outline and shadow of the heavenly reality, just as Moses was divinely instructed when he was about to build the Tabernacle. "See", he says, "that you make everything on the pattern showed you on the mountain."
5 que servem ao exemplo e sombra das coisas celestiais, como Moisés foi admoestado por Deus quando estava prestes a construir o tabernáculo. Ele diz: Olha, cuida em fazer todas as coisas de acordo com o modelo que no monte se te mostrou.
6 But Jesus has obtained a better ministry, by so much as he is also Mediator of a better covenant, which has been enacted upon better promises.
6 Mas agora ele alcançou um ministério mais excelente, quanto também é o mediador de um melhor pacto, que foi estabelecido sobre melhores promessas.
7 For if the first covenant had been faultless, there would have been no need for a second.
7 Porquanto, se o primeiro pacto fora sem defeito, nenhum lugar se teria buscado para o segundo.
8 But finding fault with them, He says. "There are days coming," says the Lord, "When I will establish with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah a new covenant;
8 E achando falta neles, ele diz: Eis que virão dias, diz o Senhor, em que farei um novo pacto com a casa de Israel e com a casa de Judá.
9 Not according tot he covenant which I made with their forefathers, On the day when I took them by the hand to lead them forth out of the land of Egypt; For they did not continue in my covenant, And therefore I disregarded them," says the Lord.
9 Não conforme o pacto que fiz com seus pais no dia em que os tomei pela mão, para guiá-los para fora da terra do Egito; pois não permaneceram em meu pacto, e eu não mais os considerei, diz o Senhor.
10 "For this is the covenant which I will covenant with the house of Israel, After these days," says the Lord; "I will put my laws into their minds, And upon their hearts will I write them; And I will be their God, And they shall be my people;
10 Porque este é o pacto que farei com a casa de Israel depois daqueles dias, diz o Senhor: Eu porei as minhas leis em suas mentes, e as escreverei em seus corações; eu serei para eles um Deus, e eles serão para mim um povo;
11 And they shall not teach every man his fellow citizen, And every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord; For all shall know me, From the least to the greatest of them.
11 e eles não ensinarão, cada homem ao seu próximo, nem cada um ao seu irmão, dizendo: Conhece o Senhor; porque todos me conhecerão, do menor até o maior.
12 For I will have mercy upon their wrong-doings, And their sins I will remember no more."
12 Porque serei misericordioso para com suas injustiças, e de seus pecados e de suas iniquidades não me lembrarei mais.
13 By calling the covenant "new," He has made the first one obsolete; and whatever is becoming obsolete and aged, is near to vanishing.
13 Assim ele diz: Um novo pacto, ele tornou o primeiro velho. Ora, o que se deteriora e envelhece está pronto para desaparecer.
