1 In the eighth month, in the second year of Darius, the Word of the LORD came to Zechariah, the son of Berechiah, the son of Iddo the prophet, saying,
1 No oitavo mês do segundo ano de Dario como rei da Pérsia, o Senhor Deus falou com o profeta Zacarias, filho de Baraquias e neto de Ido. O Deus Todo-Poderoso mandou que ele dissesse ao povo o seguinte:
2 The LORD has been very angry with your fathers.
2 — Eu, o Senhor , fiquei muito irado com os seus antepassados.
3 And you say to them, So says the LORD of hosts: Turn to Me, says the LORD of hosts, and I will turn to you, says the LORD of hosts.
3 Portanto, agora eu digo a vocês: Voltem para mim, e eu, o Senhor Todo-Poderoso, voltarei para vocês.
4 Be not as your fathers, to whom the former prophets have proclaimed to them, saying, So says the LORD of hosts: Turn now from your evil ways and your evil doings. But they did not hear nor listen to Me, says the LORD.
4 Não sejam como os seus antepassados, que não deram atenção aos profetas antigos quando eles anunciaram esta minha mensagem: “O Senhor Todo-Poderoso ordena que vocês deixem de ser maus e que abandonem as suas maldades.” Mas eles não me obedeceram.
5 Your fathers, where [are] they? And the prophets, do they live forever?
5 E agora onde estão os seus antepassados? E será que aqueles profetas ainda estão vivos?
6 But My words and My statutes which I commanded My servants the prophets, did they not overtake your fathers? And they returned and said, As the LORD of hosts planned to do to us, according to our ways and according to our doings, so He has done with us.
6 Por meio dos meus servos , os profetas, eu mandei mensagens e avisos aos antepassados de vocês. Mas eles não deram atenção e por isso foram castigados. Então eles se arrependeram e disseram: “O Senhor Todo-Poderoso fez o que tinha decidido fazer e nos castigou por causa dos nossos pecados. Ele fez o que merecíamos.”
7 On the twenty-fourth day of the eleventh month, it [is] the month Shebat, in the second year of Darius, the word of the LORD came to Zechariah, the son of Berechiah, the son of Iddo the prophet, saying,
7 No dia vinte e quatro do mês onze, chamado sebate , do segundo ano do reinado de Dario, eu, o profeta Zacarias, filho de Baraquias e neto de Ido, recebi uma mensagem de Deus, o Senhor .
8 I watched by night. And behold! a Man riding on a red horse, and He stood among the myrtle trees in the ravine. And behind Him were red, sorrel and white horses.
8 Naquela noite, tive uma visão e nela vi um anjo do Senhor montado num cavalo vermelho. O anjo estava parado num vale, no meio de umas moitas, e atrás dele estavam outros anjos montados, uns em cavalos vermelhos, outros em cavalos baios, e outros em cavalos brancos.
9 Then I said, O my lord, what [are] these? And the angel who talked with me said to me, I will show you what these [are].
9 Perguntei ao anjo que falava comigo: — Meu senhor, quem são esses anjos montados em cavalos? Ele respondeu: — Eu vou lhe dizer.
10 And the Man who stood among the myrtle trees answered and said, These [are] those whom the LORD has sent to walk to and fro through the earth.
10 Aí o anjo que estava no meio das moitas disse: — Eles são os anjos que o
11 And they answered the Angel of the LORD who stood among the myrtle trees, and said, We have walked to and fro through the earth, and behold, all the earth sits still and is at peace.
11 Então aqueles anjos disseram ao anjo que estava no meio das moitas: — Acabamos de andar por toda a terra e vimos que tudo está calmo e em paz.
12 Then the Angel of the LORD answered and said, O LORD of hosts, how long will You not have mercy on Jerusalem and on the cities of Judah against which You have cursed these seventy years?
12 E o anjo do Senhor disse: — Ó
13 And the LORD answered the angel who talked with me [with] good words, comfortable words.
13 O Senhor Deus respondeu com carinho ao anjo que estava falando comigo e disse palavras de consolo.
14 So the angel who talked with me said to me, Cry out, saying, So says the LORD of hosts: I am jealous for Jerusalem and for Zion [with] a great jealousy.
14 Aí o anjo que falava comigo mandou que eu anunciasse em voz alta o seguinte: — Esta é a mensagem do
15 And with great anger I am angry at the nations at ease; [in] that I was but a little angry, and they gave help for evil.
15 E estou muito irado com as nações que vivem sossegadas. Pois, quando eu estava um pouco irado com o meu povo, elas fizeram com que ele sofresse muito.
16 Therefore so says the LORD: I have returned to Jerusalem with mercies. My house shall be built in it, says the LORD of hosts. And a line shall be stretched over Jerusalem.
16 Portanto, cheio de compaixão, voltei para Jerusalém. E eu, o Senhor Todo-Poderoso, prometo que o Templo e a cidade toda serão construídos de novo.”
17 Cry out again, saying, So says the LORD of hosts: My cities shall yet be spread abroad through good, and the LORD shall again overflow with goodness, and the LORD shall yet comfort Zion, and shall yet choose Jerusalem.
17 E o anjo me disse também: — Anuncie que o
18 Then I lifted up my eyes and looked, and behold, four horns!
18 Tive outra visão e vi quatro chifres de boi.
19 And I said to the angel who talked with me, What [are] these? And he answered me, These [are] the horns that have scattered Judah, Israel, and Jerusalem.
19 Perguntei ao anjo que falava comigo: — Que querem dizer estes chifres? Ele respondeu: — Eles representam as nações que espalharam pelo mundo inteiro os moradores de Judá, de Israel e de Jerusalém.
20 And the LORD showed me four craftsmen.
20 Aí o Senhor Deus me mostrou quatro ferreiros.
21 And I said, What [are] these coming to do? And He spoke, saying, These [are] the horns which have scattered Judah, so that no man lifted up his head. But these have come to terrify them, to throw down the horns of the nations who lifted up [their] horn over the land of Judah to scatter it.
21 Eu perguntei: — O que é que eles vêm fazer? Ele respondeu: — Os chifres são as nações que espalharam os moradores de Judá de tal maneira, que ninguém tinha coragem de levantar a cabeça. E agora estes ferreiros representam os que estão vindo para assustar e quebrar aqueles chifres, isto é, aquelas nações que conquistaram a terra de Judá e espalharam o seu povo.
