1 And King Ahasuerus laid a tax on the land and [on] the isles of the sea.
1 O rei Xerxes impôs tributos a todo o seu império, incluindo as distantes regiões do litoral.
2 And all the acts of his power and of might, and the declaration of the greatness of Mordecai, with which the king made him great, [are] they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Media and Persia?
2 Suas grandes realizações e o relato completo da grandeza de Mardoqueu, a quem o rei havia promovido, estão registrados no Livro da História dos Reis da Média e da Pérsia .
3 For Mordecai the Jew [was] next to King Ahasuerus and great among the Jews, and pleasing to the multitude of his brothers, seeking the wealth of his people and speaking peace to all his seed.
3 O judeu Mardoqueu ocupou o cargo mais alto do reino, abaixo apenas do próprio rei Xerxes. Era muito importante entre os judeus, que o tinham em alta consideração, pois ele continuou a trabalhar para o bem de seu povo e a buscar o bem-estar de todos os seus descendentes.
