1 And Elisha the prophet called one of the sons of the prophets, and said to him, Bind up your loins and take this box of oil in your hand, and go to Ramoth in Gilead.
1 Então, o profeta Eliseu chamou um dos discípulos dos profetas e lhe disse: Cinge os lombos, leva contigo este vaso de azeite e vai-te a Ramote-Gileade;
2 And you shall go there, and you shall see there Jehu the son of Jehoshaphat, the son of Nimshi. And you shall go in and make him rise up from among his brothers, and take him to an inner room.
2 em lá chegando, vê onde está Jeú, filho de Josafá, filho de Ninsi; entra, e faze-o levantar-se do meio de seus irmãos, e leva-o à câmara interior.
3 And take the box of oil and pour [it] on his head, and say, So says the LORD, I have anointed you king over Israel. And you shall open the door, and flee, and shall not wait.
3 Toma o vaso de azeite, derrama-lho sobre a cabeça e dize: Assim diz o Senhor : Ungi-te rei sobre Israel. Então, abre a porta, foge e não te detenhas.
4 And the young man went, the servant of the prophet, [to] Ramoth in Gilead.
4 Foi, pois, o moço, o jovem profeta, a Ramote-Gileade.
5 And [he] came in, and, behold, the commanders of the army [were] sitting. And he said, I have an errand to you, commander. And Jehu said, To which of all of us? And he said, To you, commander.
5 Entrando ele, eis que os capitães do exército estavam assentados; ele disse: Capitão, tenho mensagem que te dizer. Perguntou-lhe Jeú: A qual de todos nós? Respondeu-lhe ele: A ti, capitão!
6 And he arose and went into the house. And he poured the oil on his head and said to him, So says Jehovah God of Israel, I have anointed you king over the people of the LORD, over Israel.
6 Então, se levantou Jeú e entrou na casa; o jovem derramou-lhe o azeite sobre a cabeça e lhe disse: Assim diz o Senhor , Deus de Israel: Ungi-te rei sobre o povo do Senhor , sobre Israel.
7 And you shall strike the house of Ahab your master, so that I may avenge the blood of my servants the prophets, and the blood of all the servants of the LORD at the hand of Jezebel.
7 Ferirás a casa de Acabe, teu senhor, para que eu vingue da mão de Jezabel o sangue de meus servos, os profetas, e o sangue de todos os servos do Senhor .
8 For the whole house of Ahab shall perish. And I will cut off from Ahab everyone that urinates against the wall, both bound and free.
8 Toda a casa de Acabe perecerá; exterminarei de Acabe todos do sexo masculino, quer escravo, quer livre, em Israel.
9 And I will make the house of Ahab like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and like the house of Baasha the son of Ahijah.
9 Porque farei à casa de Acabe como à casa de Jeroboão, filho de Nebate, e como à casa de Baasa, filho de Aías.
10 And the dogs shall eat Jezebel in a part of Jezreel, and none [shall be there] to bury [her]. And he opened the door and fled.
10 Os cães devorarão Jezabel no campo de Jezreel; não haverá quem a enterre. Dito isto, abriu a porta e fugiu.
11 And Jehu went out to the servants of his lord. And [one] said to him, Well? Why did this mad man come to you? And he said to them, You know the man and what he had to say.
11 Saindo Jeú aos servos de seu senhor, disseram-lhe: Vai tudo bem? Por que veio a ti este louco? Ele lhes respondeu: Bem conheceis esse homem e o seu falar.
12 And they said, [It is] false. Tell us now! And he said, This and this he spoke to me, saying, So says the LORD, I have anointed you king over Israel.
12 Mas eles disseram: É mentira; agora, faze-nos sabê-lo, te pedimos. Então, disse Jeú: Assim e assim me falou, a saber: Assim diz o Senhor : Ungi-te rei sobre Israel.
13 And they hurried and each man took his garment and put [it] under him on the top of the stairs, and blew with trumpets, saying, Jehu is king.
13 Então, se apressaram, e, tomando cada um o seu manto, os puseram debaixo dele, sobre os degraus, e tocaram a trombeta, e disseram: Jeú é rei!
14 And Jehu the son of Jehoshaphat the son of Nimshi plotted against Jehoram. And Jehoram was keeping [watch at] Ramoth in Gilead, he and all Israel before Hazael king, of Syria.
14 Assim, Jeú, filho de Josafá, filho de Ninsi, conspirou contra Jorão. Tinha, porém, Jorão cercado a Ramote-Gileade, ele e todo o Israel, por causa de Hazael, rei da Síria.
15 And king Jehoram returned to be healed in Jezreel of the wounds which the Syrians had given him when he fought with Hazael the king of Syria. And Jehu said, If it is your minds, [then] let no escapee leave to go to tell [it] in Jezreel.
15 Porém o rei Jorão voltou para se curar em Jezreel das feridas que os siros lhe fizeram, quando pelejou contra Hazael, rei da Síria. Disse Jeú: Se é da vossa vontade, ninguém saia furtivamente da cidade, para ir anunciar isto em Jezreel.
16 And Jehu rode in the chariot and went to Jezreel. For Jehoram lay there. And Ahaziah king of Judah had come down to see Jehoram.
16 Então, Jeú subiu a um carro e foi-se a Jezreel, porque Jorão estava de cama ali. Também Acazias, rei de Judá, descera para ver a Jorão.
17 And a watchman stood on the tower in Jezreel. And [he] saw the company of Jehu as he came, and said, I see a company. And Jehoram said, Take a horseman and send to meet them, and let him say, [Is it] peace?
17 Ora, o atalaia estava na torre de Jezreel, e viu a tropa de Jeú, que vinha, e disse: Vejo uma tropa. Então, disse Jorão: Toma um cavaleiro e envia-o ao seu encontro, para que lhe pergunte: Há paz?
18 And the rider on horseback went to meet him and said, So says the king, [Is it] peace? And Jehu said, What do you [have to do] with peace? Turn behind me! And the watchman reported, saying, The messenger came to them, but he does not come again.
18 Foi-lhe o cavaleiro ao encontro e disse: Assim diz o rei: Há paz? Respondeu Jeú: Que tens tu com a paz? Passa para trás de mim. O atalaia deu aviso, dizendo: Chegou a eles o mensageiro, porém não volta.
19 And he sent a second rider on horseback, who came to them and said, So says the king, [Is it] peace? And he answered, What [do you have] to do with peace? Turn behind me!
19 Então, enviou Jorão outro cavaleiro; chegando este a eles, disse: Assim diz o rei: Há paz? Respondeu Jeú: Que tens tu com a paz? Passa para trás de mim.
20 And the watchman reported, saying, He came up to them, but does not come again. And the driving [is] like the driving of Jehu the son of Nimshi, for he drives furiously.
20 O atalaia deu aviso, dizendo: Também este chegou a eles, porém não volta; e o guiar do carro parece como o de Jeú, filho de Ninsi, porque guia furiosamente.
21 And Jehoram said, Make ready. And his chariot was made ready. And Jehoram king of Israel and Ahaziah king of Judah went out, each in his own chariot, and they went out against Jehu, and met him in the portion of Naboth of Jezreel.
21 Disse Jorão: Aparelha o carro. E lhe aparelharam o carro. Saiu Jorão, rei de Israel, e Acazias, rei de Judá, cada um em seu carro, e foram ao encontro de Jeú, e o acharam no campo de Nabote, o jezreelita.
22 And it happened when Jehoram saw Jehu, he said, [Is it] peace, Jehu? And he answered, What peace, so long as the harlotries of your mother Jezebel and her witchcrafts [are so] many?
22 Sucedeu que, vendo Jorão a Jeú, perguntou: Há paz, Jeú? Ele respondeu: Que paz, enquanto perduram as prostituições de tua mãe Jezabel e as suas muitas feitiçarias?
23 And Jehoram turned his hands and fled and said to Ahaziah, Treachery, Ahaziah!
23 Então, Jorão voltou as rédeas, fugiu e disse a Acazias: Há traição, Acazias!
24 And Jehu drew a bow and struck Jehoram between his arms, and the arrow went out at his heart, and he sank down in his chariot.
24 Mas Jeú entesou o seu arco com toda a força e feriu a Jorão entre as espáduas; a flecha saiu-lhe pelo coração, e ele caiu no seu carro.
25 And he said to Bidkar his commander, Take him up [and] throw him in the portion of the field of Naboth of Jezreel. For, remember, you and I rode together after Ahab his father, and the LORD laid this burden on him.
25 Então, Jeú disse a Bidcar, seu capitão: Toma-o, lança-o no campo da herdade de Nabote, o jezreelita; pois, lembra-te de que, indo eu e tu, juntos, montados, após Acabe, seu pai, o Senhor pronunciou contra ele esta sentença:
26 Surely, yesterday I have seen the blood of Naboth and the blood of his sons, says the LORD, and I will repay you in this portion, says the LORD. And now, take [him] and throw him into the portion, according to the word of the LORD.
26 Tão certo como vi ontem à tarde o sangue de Nabote e o sangue de seus filhos, diz o Senhor , assim to retribuirei neste campo, diz o Senhor . Agora, pois, toma-o e lança-o neste campo, segundo a palavra do Senhor .
27 And when Ahaziah the king of Judah saw, [he] fled by the way of the garden-house. And Jehu followed after him and said, Strike him also in the chariot, at the going up to Gur, that [is near Ibleam. And [he] fled to Megiddo, and died there.
27 À vista disto, Acazias, rei de Judá, fugiu pelo caminho de Bete-Hagã; porém Jeú o perseguiu e disse: Feri também a este; e o feriram no carro, à subida de Gur, que está junto a Ibleão. E fugiu para Megido, onde morreu.
28 And his servants carried him in a chariot to Jerusalem, and buried him in his tomb with his fathers in the city of David.
28 Levaram-no os seus servos, num carro, a Jerusalém e o enterraram na sua sepultura junto a seus pais, na Cidade de Davi.
29 And in the eleventh year of Jehoram the son of Ahab, Ahaziah began to reign over Judah.
29 No ano undécimo de Jorão, filho de Acabe, começara Acazias a reinar sobre Judá.
30 And Jehu had come to Jezreel. And Jezebel heard, and had painted her face and adorned her head, and looked out at a window.
30 Tendo Jeú chegado a Jezreel, Jezabel o soube; então, se pintou em volta dos olhos, enfeitou a cabeça e olhou pela janela.
31 And Jehu came to the gate. And she said, [Was it] peace [to] Zimri the slayer of his lord?
31 Ao entrar Jeú pelo portão do palácio, disse ela: Teve paz Zinri, que matou a seu senhor?
32 And he lifted up his face to the window, and said, Who [is] with me? Who? And two [or] three eunuchs looked out at him.
32 Levantou ele o rosto para a janela e disse: Quem é comigo? Quem? E dois ou três eunucos olharam para ele.
33 And he said, Throw her down! And they threw her down. And [some] of her blood was sprinkled on the wall and on the horses. And he trampled her.
33 Então, disse ele: Lançai-a daí abaixo. Lançaram-na abaixo; e foram salpicados com o seu sangue a parede e os cavalos, e Jeú a atropelou.
34 And when he had come in, he ate and drank, and said, Go, now see this cursed [woman] and bury her. For she is a king's daughter.
34 Entrando ele e havendo comido e bebido, disse: Olhai por aquela maldita e sepultai-a, porque é filha de rei.
35 And they went to bury her, but they found no more of her than the skull and the feet and the palms of [her] hands.
35 Foram para a sepultar; porém não acharam dela senão a caveira, os pés e as palmas das mãos.
36 And they came again and told him. And he said, [This is] the word of the LORD which He spoke by His servant Elijah the Tishbite, saying, In the portion of Jezreel the dogs shall eat the flesh of Jezebel.
36 Então, voltaram e lho fizeram saber. Ele disse: Esta é a palavra do Senhor , que falou por intermédio de Elias, o tesbita, seu servo, dizendo: No campo de Jezreel, os cães comerão a carne de Jezabel.
37 And the dead body of Jezebel shall be as dung on the face of the field in the portion of Jezreel, [so] that they shall not say, This [is] Jezebel.
37 O cadáver de Jezabel será como esterco sobre o campo da herdade de Jezreel, de maneira que já não dirão: Esta é Jezabel.
