1 And in the eighteenth year of King Jeroboam the son of Nebat, Abijam reigned over Judah.
1 Ora, no décimo oitavo ano do rei Jeroboão, o filho de Nebate, reinou Abias sobre Judá.
2 He reigned three years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name [was] Maachah, the daughter of Abishalom.
2 Três anos reinou ele em Jerusalém. E o nome da sua mãe era Maaca, a filha de Absalão.
3 And he walked in all the sins of his father which he had done before him. And his heart was not perfect with the LORD his God, as the heart of David his father.
3 E ele caminhou em todos os pecados do seu pai, os quais ele havia cometido antes dele; e o seu coração não foi perfeito diante do SENHOR, seu Deus, como o coração de Davi, o seu pai.
4 But for David's sake the LORD his God gave him a lamp in Jerusalem, to set up his son after him, and to establish Jerusalem,
4 Todavia, por causa de Davi, o SENHOR seu Deus deu-lhe uma lâmpada em Jerusalém, para levantar o seu filho depois dele, e estabelecer Jerusalém;
5 because David did [what was] right in the eyes of the LORD, and did not turn aside from all that He commanded him all the days of his life, except in the matter of Uriah the Hittite.
5 porque Davi fez aquilo que era reto aos olhos do SENHOR, e não se desviou de nenhuma coisa que ele lhe ordenou todos os dias da sua vida, salvo somente na questão de Urias, o heteu.
6 And there was war between Rehoboam and Jeroboam all the days of his life.
6 E houve guerra entre Roboão e Jeroboão durante todos os dias da sua vida.
7 And the rest of the acts of Abijam, and all that he did, [are] they not written in the Book of the Matters of the Days of the Kings of Judah? And there was war between Abijam and Jeroboam.
7 Ora, o restante dos atos de Abias, e tudo o que ele fez, não estão escritos no livro das Crônicas dos reis de Judá? E houve guerra entre Abias e Jeroboão.
8 And Abijam slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the city of David. And his son Asa reigned in his place.
8 E Abias dormiu com os seus pais; e eles o sepultaram na cidade de Davi; e Asa, o seu filho, reinou em seu lugar.
9 And in the twentieth year of Jeroboam king of Israel, Asa reigned over Judah.
9 E no vigésimo ano de Jeroboão, rei de Israel, reinou Asa sobre Judá.
10 And he reigned in Jerusalem forty-one years. And his grandmother's name [was] Maachah, the daughter of Abishalom.
10 E quarenta e um anos reinou ele em Jerusalém. E o nome da sua mãe era Maaca, a filha de Absalão.
11 And Asa did [what was] right in the eyes of the LORD, as David his father did.
11 E Asa fez aquilo que era reto aos olhos do SENHOR, como fez Davi, o seu pai.
12 And [he] took away the sodomites out of the land and removed all the idols that his fathers had made.
12 E ele retirou os sodomitas da terra, e removeu todos os ídolos que os seus pais haviam feito.
13 And also he even removed his mother Maachah from [being] queen because she had made an idol in a grove. And Asa destroyed her idol and burned it by the torrent Kidron.
13 E também Maaca, a sua mãe, ele removeu da posição de rainha, porque ela havia feito um ídolo em um bosque; e Asa destruiu o seu ídolo, e o queimou junto ao ribeiro de Cedrom.
14 But the high places were not removed. But Asa's heart was perfect with the LORD all his days.
14 Os lugares altos, porém, não foram removidos; no entanto, o coração de Asa foi perfeito diante do SENHOR todos os seus dias.
15 And he brought in the things which his father had dedicated, and the things which he himself had dedicated, into the house of the LORD, silver and gold and vessels.
15 E ele trouxe para dentro as coisas que o seu pai havia consagrado, e as coisas que ele mesmo havia consagrado, para a casa do SENHOR; prata, e ouro e vasos.
16 And there was war between Asa and Baasha king of Israel all their days.
16 E houve guerra entre Asa e Baasa, rei de Israel, todos os seus dias.
17 And Baasha king of Israel went up against Judah and built Ramah, so that he might not allow any to go out or come in to Asa king of Judah.
17 E Baasa, rei de Israel, subiu contra Judá, e edificou Ramá, para que ele não deixasse que ninguém saísse ou entrasse junto a Asa, rei de Judá.
18 And Asa took all the silver and the gold left in the treasures of the house of the LORD, and the treasures of the king's house, and delivered them into the hand of his servants. And king Asa sent them to Ben-hadad, the son of Tabrimon, the son of Hezion, king of Syria, who lived at Damascus, saying,
18 Então, Asa tomou toda a prata e o ouro que foram deixados nos tesouros da casa do SENHOR, e os tesouros da casa do rei, e os entregou na mão dos seus servos; e o rei Asa os enviou para Ben-Hadade, o filho de Tabrimom, o filho de Heziom, rei da Síria, que habitava em Damasco, dizendo:
19 [There is] a treaty between you and me, between my father and your father. Behold, I have sent to you a present of silver and gold. Come and break your treaty with Baasha king of Israel, so that he may depart from me.
19 Há um pacto entre mim e ti, e entre o meu pai e o teu pai; eis que tenho enviado a ti um presente de prata e ouro; vem e quebra o teu pacto com Baasa, rei de Israel, para que eles possam partir de mim.
20 And Ben-hadad listened to king Asa, and sent the commanders of the armies which he had against the cities of Israel, and struck Ijon, and Dan, and Abel-beth-maachah, and all Chinneroth, with all the land of Naphtali.
20 Assim, Ben-Hadade atentou ao rei Asa, e enviou os capitães dos exércitos os quais ele tinha contra as cidades de Israel, e feriu Ijom, e Dã, e Abel-Bete-Maaca, e toda a Quinerete, com toda a terra de Naftali.
21 And it happened when Baasha heard, he left off building Ramah and lived in Tirzah.
21 E sucedeu, quando Baasa ouviu isto, que ele abandonou a construção de Ramá, e habitou em Tirza.
22 And king Asa made a proclamation throughout all Judah. None [was] free from it. And they took away the stones of Ramah, and its timber with which Baasha had built. And king Asa built Geba of Benjamin and Mizpah with them.
22 Então o rei Asa fez uma proclamação por todo o Judá; ninguém estava isento; e eles removeram as pedras de Ramá, e a sua madeira, com a qual Baasa havia edificado; e o rei Asa construiu com elas Geba de Benjamim, e Mispá.
23 The rest of all the acts of Asa, and all his might, and all that he did, and the cities which he built, [are] they not written in the Book of the Matters of the Days of the Kings of Judah? But in the time of his old age he was diseased in his feet.
23 O restante dos atos de Asa, e todo o seu poder, e tudo o que ele fez, e as cidades que edificou, não estão escritos no livro das Crônicas dos reis de Judá? Todavia, no tempo da sua idade avançada ele ficou enfermo dos seus pés.
24 And Asa slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David his father. And his son Jehoshaphat reigned in his place.
24 E Asa dormiu com os seus pais, e foi sepultado com os seus pais na cidade de Davi, o seu pai; e Josafá, o seu filho, reinou em seu lugar.
25 And Nadab the son of Jeroboam began to reign over Israel in the second year of Asa king of Judah, and reigned over Israel two years.
25 E Nadabe, o filho de Jeroboão, começou a reinar sobre Israel no segundo ano de Asa, rei de Judá, e reinou sobre Israel dois anos.
26 And [he] did evil in the sight of the LORD, and walked in the way of his father, and in his sin with which he made Israel to sin.
26 E ele fez o mal à vista do SENHOR, e andou no caminho do seu pai, e no seu pecado com o qual fez Israel pecar.
27 And Baasha the son of Ahijah, of the house of Issachar, conspired against him. And Baasha struck him at Gibbethon, which [was] to the Philistines. For Nadab and all Israel laid siege to Gibbethon.
27 E Baasa, o filho de Aías, da casa de Issacar, conspirou contra ele; e Baasa o feriu em Gibetom, a qual pertencia aos filisteus; porque Nadabe e todo o Israel lançaram cerco a Gibetom.
28 And in the third year of Asa king of Judah, Baasha killed him and reigned in his place.
28 Bem no terceiro ano de Asa, rei de Judá, Baasa o matou, e reinou em seu lugar.
29 And it happened when he reigned, he struck all the house of Jeroboam. He did not leave Jeroboam any who breathed, until he had destroyed him, according to the saying of the LORD which He spoke by His servant Ahijah the man of Shiloh,
29 E sucedeu, quando ele reinava, que feriu toda a casa de Jeroboão; ele não deixou a Jeroboão nada que respirasse, até que lhe destruísse, segundo o dizer do SENHOR, o qual ele falou pelo seu servo Aías, o silonita.
30 because of the sins of Jeroboam which he sinned, and which he made Israel sin, by his provocation with which he provoked the LORD God of Israel to anger.
30 Por causa dos pecados de Jeroboão, os quais ele pecou, e nos quais fez Israel pecar, pela sua provocação com a qual ele provocou o SENHOR Deus de Israel à ira.
31 And the rest of the acts of Nadab, and all that he did, [are] they not written in the Book of the Matters of the Days of the Kings of Israel?
31 Ora, o restante dos atos de Nadabe, e tudo o que ele fez, não estão escritos no livro das Crônicas dos reis de Israel?
32 And there was war between Asa and Baasha king of Israel all their days.
32 E houve guerra entre Asa e Baasa, rei de Israel, todos os seus dias.
33 In the third year of Asa king of Judah, Baasha the son of Ahijah began to reign over all Israel in Tirzah, twenty-four years.
33 No terceiro ano de Asa, rei de Judá, Baasa, o filho de Aías começou a reinar sobre todo o Israel em Tirza, vinte e quatro anos.
34 And he did evil in the sight of the LORD, and walked in the way of Jeroboam, and in his sin with which he made Israel to sin.
34 E ele fez o mal à vista do SENHOR, e andou no caminho de Jeroboão, e no seu pecado com o qual fez Israel pecar.
