1 Nə́ ndɛɛ́, yɔwʉgá məgwɔ̧́ mə lâm, yɔw mə́kə́ŋ, nə kwába, nə zhíŋ, nə ojaawʉ́-jaawʉ̂.
1 Deponde, pois, toda malícia, toda astúcia, fingimentos, invejas e toda espécie de maledicência.
2 Yidagá gwág yéésh mílə́sʉ́ mí Zɛmbî nə́mə́ nda íkʉ́kény í dʉ́ gwág yéésh bə̂l nə́. Milə́sʉ́ mí Zɛmbî mísə bɨ́ mʉ́n mə́nyá, fwámɛ́ mə́nyá kú bə mâ fʉlâ. Bɨ mə́ jəlá nə gwág myo yéésh shú nə́ mí sáág nə́ bɨ ŋgə́g nə wɨ̂y kə bá kumə cʉg á kandʉgə kandʉgə dɨ̂.
2 as newborn babes desire earnestly the pure mental milk of the word, that by it ye may grow up to salvation,
3 Í é bə ntɔ́ ŋkí bɨ a mə́ kagʉlə Cwámba nə́ ndɛɛ́ bɨ́ kwey nə́ á nywa.
3 if indeed ye have tasted that the Lord {is} good.
4 Shíshʉ́gá Cwámba kúnə́-kúnə; a jisə kwóógʉ́ á kuwô búúd bwə́ á myaas yí, í njúl nə́ dáá wə́ Zɛmbî nyə a fɛ́ɛ́sh nə́ dʉ́sə́ jimə́ shú dɛ́ dɨ́ yí.

5 Bɨ músə mikuwó mí mə́kwóógʉ́; kwagá ŋgə sɛɛŋgya nə́ ndɛɛ́ bɨ mú bə njɔ́w á *shíshim shú ísɛ́y í fada, í dʉ́g kənd Zɛmbî *mətúnʉga mâ shíshim, nyə́ é dʉ magʉlə lúú mə́ Yésus-Krîst dɨ̂ má.
5 yourselves also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.
6 Jísə Kálaad Zɛmbî dɨ́ nə́:
6 Because it is contained in the scripture: Behold, I lay in Zion a corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believes on him shall not be put to shame.
7 Zɛmbî mə́ sá nə́ bɨ́ buud ŋgə́ *búgʉla wá bɨ ŋwág gúmə́. Njɨ, buud bwə́ aŋgɛ̂ nə búgʉla wá, jɨ́ shú dáŋ nə́:
7 To you therefore who believe {is} the preciousness; but to the disobedient, the stone which the builders cast away as worthless, this is become head of {the} corner,
8 Í nyiŋgə nə́mə́ bə kwóógʉ́ lʉ́ mə́bɔɔgʉ́,
8 and a stone of stumbling and rock of offence; {who} stumble at the word, being disobedient to which also they have been appointed.
9 Bɨ báá bɨ bʉ́sə mpwoŋ buud Zɛmbî nyə á fɛ́ɛ́sh yí, bɨ bʉ́sə kínda ófada ɔ Cî, lwoŋ búúd mə́ Zɛmbî, kúl búúd Zɛmbî nyə á kusə yí; nyə á fɛ́ɛ́sh bɨ́ nə́ bɨ dʉ́g bwiiŋg məma ísâ byé, nyə muud nyə á jɔ̂w bɨ́ nə́ bɨ wúg yídʉ́gʉ́d zə mə́ŋkɛnya mɛ́ mâ mímbʉ́gú dɨ̂ yɛ́.
9 But *ye* {are} a chosen race, a kingly priesthood, a holy nation, a people for a possession, that ye might set forth the excellencies of him who has called you out of darkness to his wonderful light;
10 Bɨ a shígɛ́ bə kúl mə́ Zɛmbî yág, bɨ músə kúl jé ja gaád. Zɛmbî nyə a shígɛ́ dʉ gwág bɨ́ cɛy lámʉ́d, a mú ŋgə gwág bɨ́ cɛy lámʉ́d ja gaád.
10 who once {were} not a people, but now God's people; who were not enjoying mercy, but now have found mercy.
11 Yé bwááŋg mə́ búl cɛɛl wá, bɨ bʉ́sə ijigə-jigə wa shí gaád nda buud bwə́ njúl ízhaá shíd nə́ bwə́ bá cɔ̧́ wá. Nə́ ndɛɛ́, mə ŋgə yáág nə bɨ́ náá: yɔwʉgá ŋgə́lə bɛ̧ iwɨ́ɨ́mbʉ́g í cʉg múúd, í cɛɛl gwɨ́ɨ́lya bɨ́ *mishíshim.
11 Beloved, I exhort {you}, as strangers and sojourners, to abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;
12 Dʉgá bə nə jɔ̧ kuú njɔɔnd na cʉg bɨ́nɔ̂ŋ oháádɛn ŋgə́ cʉgə nɨɨ́d. Í dʉ́g bə ntɔ́ shú nə́, ja bwə́ cɛ́ɛ́l dʉ ntáma bɨ́ mínə́ nə́ bɨ bʉ́sə mimbʉ́wʉ́lú yí, bwə́ yídag dʉ dʉ́g jɔ̧jɔ̧ mísɔ́ɔ́lʉ́gʉ́ mín nə́ ndɛɛ́ bwə́ mú bá yə Zɛmbî gúmə́ ja á bá zə yí.
12 having your conversation honest among the Gentiles, that {as to that} in which they speak against you as evildoers, they may through {your} good works, {themselves} witnessing {them}, glorify God in {the} day of visitation.
13 Nda bɨ́ bʉ́sə́ búúd ɔ Cwámba nə́, bɨ́dʉ́gá nə́ tɔ́we shwóg yɛ̂sh búúd bwə́ mə́ tə̂l yɛ́ jwúg nə bɨ̂; njwú-buud jwúg nə bɨ́ nə́ nyə wə́ jɨ́ ájəlácɨ,
13 — ausente —
14 ogwə́mʉna jwú nə́ bwo wə́ njwú-buud nyə á tə̂l nə́ bwə́ dʉ́g yə ósɔ́ɔl ɔ mə́bɔ̂w intʉ́gʉ́lí, dʉ ságʉsə íjɔ̧ɔ̧ i búúd wá.
14 or to rulers as sent by him, for vengeance on evildoers, and praise to them that do well.
15 Nəcé sâ Zɛmbî ŋgə́ jɨɨ yí jɨ nə́ bɨ dʉ́g sá mə́nywa, mənywa mɔɔŋg mə́ é dʉ sá nə́ míkás mi búúd mí bə́g kú ná nə sâ mí é cɨ bɨ́ yí.
15 Because so is the will of God, that by well-doing ye put to silence the ignorance of senseless men;
16 Ŋgəgá nə cʉgə cʉg fʉlî; njɨ, cʉg fʉlí jɔɔŋg í á jə́láyɛ́ nə ka yida bə bɨ́ búdʉga dʉ́lə shweel mə́gwɔ̧́ mə lâm; dʉgá yida ŋwa bɨ́mɛ́fwó nə́ bɨ bʉ́sə salawús mə́ Zɛmbî dɨ̂.
16 as free, and not as having liberty as a cloak of malice, but as God's bondmen.
17 Gúmálʉ́gá muud yɛ̂sh, bɨ́ cɛɛl ómínyɔŋʉ́ bʉ́n wâ búgə́, ŋwa Zɛmbî nə gwɔ̧́ɔ̧́gə́, gúmal njwú-buud.
17 Shew honour to all, love the brotherhood, fear God, honour the king.
18 Yé ólwaábʉlə, bɨ́dʉ́gá nə́ omása bʉ́n bwə́ jwúg nə bɨ̂, ŋwagá ijwûga byáŋ nə fwámɛ́ gwɔ̧́ɔ̧́gə́; tɔɔ omása bʉ́sə́ nə bɔ́w-bɔ̂w fúlú wá, kú bul bə njɨ bɔɔŋg bʉ́sə́ nə jɔ̧ fúlú wá, ŋkí ntâg bɔɔŋg bwə́ ádɛ́ yâ wá.
18 Servants, {be} subject with all fear to your masters, not only to the good and gentle, but also to the ill-tempered.
19 Mpugá nə́, jisə jɔ̧jɔ̧ sɔ́ɔ́lʉ́gʉ́ nə́ múúd jísɔ́wʉ́g məntágʉla á ŋgə bwəma nə ndɨ́ a kú nə məbɛ̧ɛ̧́ má; a jísɔ́wʉ́g kú lámʉsa nəcé nywáá bə́lə múúd mə́ Zɛmbî.
19 For this {is} acceptable, if one, for conscience sake towards God, endure griefs, suffering unjustly.
20 Ŋkí muud mə́ jísɔw bígə́ á bwə́má nə ndɨ́ nəcé a sálə mə́bɔ̂w yí, dáyɛ́ dúmá nyə́ é ŋwa cínɔŋg yí? Wó ká ŋgə yida jísɔw njugú wo ŋgə́ sá mənywa, jísə jɔ̧jɔ̧ sâ mísh mə́ Zɛmbî dɨ̂.
20 For what glory {is it}, if sinning and being buffeted ye shall bear {it}? but if, doing good and suffering, ye shall bear {it}, this is acceptable with God.
21 Zɛmbî nyə a jɔ̂w ntâg bɨ́ nə́ bɨ zə́g cʉgə ntɔ́. Ŋgaá *Krîst nyə á jug shú dʉ́n? Nyə a lwó bɨ́ yuug nə́ bɨ bág dʉ bɛ̧ zhɨ́ɨ́ nyɛ́.
21 For to this have ye been called; for Christ also has suffered for you, leaving you a model that ye should follow in his steps:
22 Nyə muud nyə́ á shígɛ́ bwɛlɛ sá *sə́m yɛ́, nyə muud nyə á shígɛ́ bwɛlɛ lás lə́sʉ́ mə́kə́ŋ yɛ́,
22 who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth;
23 nyə muud nyə́ á dʉ bə, bwə́ ŋgə́ lwîy nyə a kú bweel yɛ́, a tɛɛm jug, a kú cwambʉlə búúd, a yida dʉ jɔ̂w njɨ Zɛmbî muud mə́ dʉ́ cígal mílə́sʉ́ tʉ́təlí yɛ́;
23 who, {when} reviled, reviled not again; {when} suffering, threatened not; but gave {himself} over into the hands of him who judges righteously;
24 nyə muud nyə á ŋwa misə́m mísʉ́ nyə́dɨ́ nyúúlʉ́d kə nə myo kwolós dɨ́ yɛ́, nyə a sá ntɔ́ shú nə́ sə́ bə́g mimbimbə shú sâ í dʉ́gyá nə misə́m yí, sə́ kág yida ŋgə cʉgə shú ótʉ́təlî; nyə muud nyúúl í á jug nə yáág-yáág mə́fə́ŋ bɨ bâŋ bɨ mú yâl yɛ́.
24 who himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, in order that, being dead to sins, we may live to righteousness: by whose stripes ye have been healed.
25 Nəcé bɨ á bə nda incwəmbɛ í á jímb nə zhɨɨ́ yí. Ká, ja gaád ɨɨ́, bɨ mə́ nyiŋgə zə wə́ muud ŋgə́ wɨ́ɨl *mishíshim mín ŋgə baagʉlə myo yɛ́.
25 For ye were going astray as sheep, but have now returned to the shepherd and overseer of your souls.
