1 Now, about that time, Peter and John went up to the temple, at the hour of prayer, being the ninth hour.
1 Certo dia Pedro e João estavam subindo ao templo na hora da oração, às três horas da tarde.
2 And a certain man, who had been lame from his birth, was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple, which is called Beautiful, to ask alms of those that entered into the temple;
2 Estava sendo levado para a porta do templo chamada Formosa um aleijado de nascença, que ali era colocado todos os dias para pedir esmolas aos que entravam no templo.
3 who seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple, begged to receive alms.
3 Vendo que Pedro e João iam entrar no pátio do templo, pediu-lhes esmola.
4 But Peter, with John, looking steadfastly upon him, said, Look on us.
4 Pedro e João olharam bem para ele e, então, Pedro disse: "Olhe para nós! "
5 And he fixed his eyes upon them, expecting to receive something from them.
5 O homem olhou para eles com atenção, esperando receber deles alguma coisa.
6 But Peter said, Silver and gold I have none, but what I have I give you: in the name of Jesus Christ, the Nazarene, rise up and walk.
6 Disse Pedro: "Não tenho prata nem ouro, mas o que tenho, isto lhe dou. Em nome de Jesus Cristo, o Nazareno, ande".
7 And, taking him by the right hand, he raised him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones were strengthened.
7 Segurando-o pela mão direita, ajudou-o a levantar-se, e imediatamente os pés e os tornozelos do homem ficaram firmes.
8 And leaping up, he stood, and walked about, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God.
8 E de um salto pôs-se de pé e começou a andar. Depois entrou com eles no pátio do templo, andando, saltando e louvando a Deus.
9 And all the people saw him walking, and praising God;
9 Quando todo o povo o viu andando e louvando a Deus,
10 and they knew him to be the same person who sat for alms at the Beautiful gate of the temple, and were filled with wonder and amazement at that which had happened to him.
10 reconheceu que era ele o mesmo homem que costumava mendigar sentado à porta do templo chamada Formosa. Todos ficaram perplexos e muito admirados com o que lhe tinha acontecido.
11 And while he kept fast hold of Peter and John, all the people ran together to them, exceedingly astonished, in the portico called Solomon's.
11 Apegando-se o mendigo a Pedro e João, todo o povo ficou maravilhado e correu até eles, ao lugar chamado Pórtico de Salomão.
12 And Peter, seeing this, answered the people, Israelites, why do you wonder at this? or why do you fix your eyes on us, as if by our own power, or piety, we had made this man to walk?
12 Vendo isso, Pedro lhes disse: "Israelitas, por que isto os surpreende? Por que vocês estão olhando para nós, como se tivéssemos feito este homem andar por nosso próprio poder ou piedade?
13 The God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of Jacob, the God of our fathers, has glorified his Son Jesus, whom you delivered up, and rejected in the presence of Pilate, when he was desirous to release him:
13 O Deus de Abraão, de Isaque e de Jacó, o Deus dos nossos antepassados, glorificou seu servo Jesus, a quem vocês entregaram para ser morto e negaram perante Pilatos, embora ele tivesse decidido soltá-lo.
14 but you rejected the Holy and Righteous One, and desired a murderer to be granted to you;
14 Vocês negaram publicamente o Santo e Justo e pediram que lhes fosse libertado um assassino.
15 and killed the Prince of Life, whom God has raised from the dead, of which we are witnesses;
15 Vocês mataram o autor da vida, mas Deus o ressuscitou dos mortos. E nós somos testemunhas disso.
16 and his name, through faith in his name, has made this man strong, whom ye see and know; yes, the faith which is by him, has given him this perfect soundness, in the presence of you all.
16 Pela fé no nome de Jesus, o Nome curou este homem que vocês vêem e conhecem. A fé que vem por meio dele lhe deu esta saúde perfeita, como todos podem ver.
17 And now, brethren, I know that through ignorance you did it, as did also your rulers;
17 "Agora, irmãos, eu sei que vocês agiram por ignorância, bem como os seus líderes.
18 but those things which God foretold, by the mouth of all his prophets, that the Messiah should suffer, he has thus fulfilled.
18 Mas foi assim que Deus cumpriu o que tinha predito por todos os profetas, dizendo que o seu Cristo haveria de sofrer.
19 Reform, therefore, and return to God, that so your sins may be blotted out; that seasons of refreshment may come from the presence of the Lord,
19 Arrependam-se, pois, e voltem-se para Deus, para que os seus pecados sejam cancelados,
20 and that he may send Jesus Christ, who was before designed for you:
20 para que venham tempos de descanso da parte do Senhor, e ele mande o Cristo, o qual lhes foi designado, Jesus.
21 whom, indeed, heaven must retain till the time of the accomplishment of all things, which God has spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets, from the beginning of time.
21 É necessário que ele permaneça no céu até que chegue o tempo em que Deus restaurará todas as coisas, como falou há muito tempo, por meio dos seus santos profetas.
22 «Moses truly said, to the fathers,» 'A prophet like me shall the Lord your God raise up for you, from among your brethren; him shall you obey in all things, whatsoever he shall say to you:'
22 Pois disse Moisés: ‘O Senhor Deus lhes levantará dentre seus irmãos um profeta como eu; ouçam-no em tudo o que ele lhes disser.
23 «and it shall come to pass, that every soul who will not obey that prophet, shall be cut off from among the people.»
23 Quem não ouvir esse profeta, será eliminado do meio do seu povo’.
24 Yes, and all the prophets from Samuel, and those that succeeded, as many as have spoken, have also foretold these days.
24 "De fato, todos os profetas, de Samuel em diante, um por um, falaram e predisseram estes dias.
25 «You are the children of the prophets, and of the institution which God instituted with our fathers, saying to Abraham,» 'And in your see shall all the families of the earth be blessed.'
25 E vocês são herdeiros dos profetas e da aliança que Deus fez com os seus antepassados. Ele disse a Abraão: ‘Por meio da sua descendência todos os povos da terra serão abençoados’.
26 To you, first, God, having raised up his Son, has sent him to bless you; in turning every one of you, from your iniquities.
26 Tendo Deus ressuscitado o seu Servo, enviou-o primeiramente a vocês, para abençoá-los, convertendo cada um de vocês das suas maldades".
