Leeser Old Testament (LEESER) vs NVI
1 Woe to the city of blood! it is all full of lies and robbery; never ceaseth the preying;
1 Ai da cidade sanguinária, repleta de fraudes e cheia de roubos, sempre fazendo as suas vítimas!
2 The noise of a whip, and the noise of the rattling of wheels, and of prancing horses, and of the skipping chariots.
2 Ah, o estalo dos chicotes, o barulho das rodas, o galope dos cavalos e o sacudir dos carros de guerra!
3 Horsemen mount, and there are the flaming sword and the glittering spear: and there is a multitude of slain, and heaps of carcasses; and without end are the corpses; they stumble on their corpses;
3 Cavaleiros atacando, espadas reluzentes e lanças cintilantes! Muitos mortos, montanhas de cadáveres, corpos sem conta, gente tropeçando por cima deles!
4 Because of the multitude of the lewd deeds of the harlot, that is rich in gracefulness, the mistress of witchcrafts, that selleth nations through her lewd deeds, and families through her witchcrafts.
4 Tudo por causa do desejo desenfreado de uma prostituta sedutora, mestra de feitiçarias, que escravizou nações com a sua prostituição e povos, com a sua feitiçaria.
5 Behold, I will be against thee, saith the Lord of hosts; and I will lay thy skirts open over thy face, and I will let nations see thy nakedness, and kingdoms thy shame.
5 “Eu estou contra você”, declara o SENHOR dos Exércitos, “vou levantar o seu vestido até a altura do seu rosto. Mostrarei às nações a sua nudez e aos reinos, as suas vergonhas.
6 And I will cast abominable filth upon thee, and defile thee, and will render thee a dirtheap.
6 Eu jogarei imundície sobre você, e a tratarei com desprezo; farei de você um exemplo.
7 And it shall come to pass, that all they that see thee shall flee from thee, and say, Laid waste is Nineveh: who will condole with her? whence shall I seek comforters for thee?
7 Todos os que a virem fugirão dizendo: ‘Nínive está arrasada! Quem a lamentará? ’ Onde encontrarei quem a console? ”
8 Art thou better than Noamon, that was situated on the rivers, that had water round about her, the rampart of which was the sea, and the walls of which rose out of the sea?
8 Acaso és melhor do que Tebas, situada junto ao Nilo, rodeada de águas? O rio era a sua defesa; as águas, o seu muro.
9 Ethiopia the numerous, and Egypt that was without end, Put and Lubim were thy helpers.
9 A Etiópia e o Egito eram a sua força ilimitada; Fute e a Líbia estavam entre os seus aliados.
10 Yet also she was exiled, was carried away into captivity; also her young children were dashed in pieces at the corners of all streets: and for her honorable men they cast lots, and all her great ones were bound with chains.
10 Apesar disso, ela foi deportada, levada para o exílio. Em cada esquina as suas crianças foram massacradas. Tiraram sortes para decidir o destino dos seus nobres; todos os poderosos foram acorrentados.
11 Thou also shalt be made drunken, thou shalt be hidden from view: thou also shalt seek refuge because of the enemy.
11 Você também ficará embriagada; irá esconder-se, tentando proteger-se do inimigo.
12 All thy strongholds shall be like figtrees with the first ripe figs, which, if they be shaken, will fall into the mouth of the eater.
12 Todas as suas fortalezas são como figueiras carregadas de figos maduros; basta sacudi-las, e os figos caem em bocas vorazes.
13 Behold, thy people are become women in the midst of thee: unto thy enemies are the gates of thy land set wide open; the fire hath devoured thy bars.
13 Olhe bem para as suas tropas: não passam de mulheres! As suas portas estão escancaradas para os seus inimigos; o fogo devorou as suas trancas.
14 Water for the siege draw for thyself, fortify thy strongholds: go into the clay, and tread the mortar, make strong the brickkiln.
14 Reserve água para o tempo do cerco! Reforce as suas fortalezas! Entre no barro, pise a argamassa, prepare a forma para os tijolos!
15 There shall the fire devour thee; the sword shall cut thee off, it shall devour thee up like the cankerworm: though thou make thyself many as the cankerworm; make thyself many as the locusts.
15 Mesmo assim o fogo consumirá você; a espada a eliminará, e, como gafanhotos devastadores, a devorará! Multiplique-se como gafanhotos devastadores, multiplique-se como gafanhotos peregrinos!
16 Though thou hadst multiplied thy merchants more than the stars of heaven: the cankerworm spreadeth itself out, and flieth away.
16 Você multiplicou os seus comerciantes, tornando-os mais numerosos do que as estrelas do céu; mas como gafanhotos devastadores, devoram o país e depois voam para longe.
17 Thy crowned ones are like the locusts, and thy leaders like the swarms of locusts, which camp in the hedges on a cold day, but when the sun ariseth they flee away, and their place is not known where they are.
17 Os seus guardas são como gafanhotos peregrinos, os seus oficiais, como enxames de gafanhotos que se ajuntam sobre os muros em dias frios; mas quando o sol aparece, eles voam, ninguém sabe para onde.
18 Thy shepherds slumber, O king of Assyria; thy valiant men are at rest: scattered are thy people upon the mountains, and there is none that gathereth them.
18 Ó rei da Assíria, os seus pastores dormem; os seus nobres adormecem. O seu povo está espalhado pelos montes e não há ninguém para reuni-lo.
19 There is no healing for thy breach; fatal is thy wound: all that hear the report of thee will clap their hands over thee; for over whom did not thy wickedness pass continually?
19 Não há cura para a sua chaga; a sua ferida é mortal. Quem ouve notícias a seu respeito bate palmas pela sua queda, pois, quem não sofreu a sua crueldade sem limites?
