1 And the Lord spoke unto Moses, saying,
1 Então o S enhor disse a Moisés:
2 Speak unto Aaron, and unto his sons, and unto all the children of Israel, and say unto them, This is the thing which the Lord hath commanded, saying,
2 “Dê as seguintes instruções a Arão, a seus filhos e a todo o povo de Israel. Isto é o que o S enhor ordenou.
3 Any man whatsoever of the house of Israel, that killeth an ox, or a sheep, or a goat, in the camp, or that killeth it out of the camp,
3 “Se algum israelita de nascimento sacrificar um boi, um cordeiro ou um cabrito em qualquer lugar dentro ou fora do acampamento
4 And bringeth it not to the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, to offer it as an offering unto the Lord before the tabernacle of the Lord: as bloodguiltiness shall it be imputed unto that man, blood hath he shed; and that man shall be cut off from among his people.
4 em vez de levá-lo à entrada da tenda do encontro e apresentá-lo como oferta ao S enhor , será tão culpado quanto um assassino. Derramou sangue e será eliminado do meio do povo.
5 In order that the children of Israel may bring their sacrifices, which they slay in the open field, and bring them unto the Lord, to the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, unto the priest, and slay them as sacrifices of peaceofferings unto the Lord.
5 A finalidade é evitar que os israelitas sacrifiquem animais em campo aberto. Isso garantirá que levem os sacrifícios ao sacerdote à entrada da tenda do encontro, para que ele os apresente ao S enhor como ofertas de paz.
6 And the priest shall sprinkle the blood upon the altar of the Lord at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation; and he shall burn the fat for a sweet savor unto the Lord.
6 Então o sacerdote derramará o sangue no altar do S enhor à entrada da tenda do encontro e queimará a gordura como aroma agradável ao S enhor .
7 So that they shall offer no more their sacrifices unto evil spirits, after which they have gone astray: a statute for ever shall this be unto them throughout their generations.
7 Não deverão mais oferecer sacrifícios a ídolos em forma de bode, cometendo prostituição. Essa é uma lei permanente para eles e deverá ser cumprida de geração em geração.
8 And unto them shalt thou say, Whatsoever man there be of the house of Israel, or of the strangers who may sojourn among them, that offereth a burntoffering or a sacrifice,
8 “Dê-lhes também a seguinte ordem. Se um israelita de nascimento ou um estrangeiro que vive entre vocês apresentar um holocausto ou outro sacrifício,
9 And bringeth it not unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, to offer it unto the Lord: even that man shall be cut off from among his people.
9 mas não o trouxer à entrada da tenda do encontro para oferecê-lo ao S enhor , será eliminado do meio do povo.
10 And if there be any man of the house of Israel, or of the strangers that sojourn among them, that eateth any manner of blood: I will set my face against the person that eateth the blood, and I will cut him off from among his people.
10 “Se algum israelita de nascimento ou um estrangeiro que vive entre vocês comer sangue, sob qualquer circunstância, eu me voltarei contra ele e o eliminarei do meio do povo,
11 For the life of the flesh is in the blood; and I have appointed it for you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls; for the blood it is that maketh an atonement for the soul.
11 pois a vida do corpo está no sangue. Eu lhes dei o sangue no altar para fazer expiação por vocês. É o sangue oferecido que faz a expiação em lugar de uma vida.
12 Therefore have I said unto the children of Israel, No one of you shall eat blood, and the stranger that sojourneth among you shall not eat blood.
12 Por isso eu disse aos israelitas: ‘Jamais comam sangue, nem vocês, nem os estrangeiros que vivem entre vocês’.
13 And if there be any man whatsoever of the children of Israel, or of the strangers that sojourn among them, who catcheth by hunting any beast or fowl that may be eaten: then shall he pour out the blood thereof, and cover it up with dust.
13 “Se um israelita de nascimento ou um estrangeiro que vive entre vocês sair para caçar e matar um animal ou uma ave que lhes é permitido comer, deixará o sangue do animal escorrer e o cobrirá com terra.
14 For the life of all flesh is its blood, on which its life dependeth; therefore have I said unto the children of Israel, The blood of every manner of flesh shall ye not eat; for the life of all flesh is its blood, every one who eateth it shall be cut off.
14 A vida de toda criatura está no sangue. Por isso eu disse aos israelitas: ‘Jamais comam sangue, pois a vida de toda criatura está no sangue’. Quem consumir sangue será eliminado.
15 And every person that eateth that which hath died of itself, or that which was torn by beasts, be this one born in your own country, or a stranger, shall both wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the evening, when he shall be clean.
15 “E, se um israelita de nascimento ou um estrangeiro comer a carne de um animal que morreu de forma natural ou foi despedaçado por animais selvagens, lavará as roupas e se banhará com água. Ficará cerimonialmente impuro até o entardecer, mas depois disso estará puro.
16 But if he wash them not, nor bathe his flesh, then shall he bear his iniquity.
16 Se, contudo, não lavar as roupas e não se banhar, será castigado por causa de seu pecado”.
