1 Oh how doth she sit solitarythe city that was full of people is become like a widow! she that was so great among the nations, the princess among the provinces, is become tributary!
1 Como está abandonada Jerusalém, a cidade que antes vivia cheia de gente! Ela era respeitada no mundo inteiro, mas agora parece uma viúva; a rainha entre as nações hoje não passa de uma escrava.
2 She weepeth sorely in the night, and her tears are on her cheeks; she hath none to comfort her among all her lovers; all her friends have dealt treacherously toward her, they are become her enemies.
2 Ela chora a noite inteira, as lágrimas correm pelo seu rosto. Dos seus antigos amigos não ficou nenhum para a consolar. Todos eles a traíram e agora são inimigos dela.
3 Exiled is Judah because of affliction, and because of the greatness of servitude she dwelleth indeed among the nations, she findeth no rest: all her pursuers have overtaken her between the narrow passes.
3 O povo de Judá foi levado para longe da sua pátria e sofre como escravo em trabalhos forçados. Eles moram em outros países e não têm descanso. Estão cercados pelos seus perseguidores e não podem escapar.
4 The ways to Zion are in mourning, because none come to the solemn feasts; all her gates are desolate; her priests sigh; her virgins moan, and she suffereth herself from bitter grief.
4 As estradas que levam a Sião estão tristes, pois não há ninguém que vá por elas para as festas religiosas. As moças que cantavam no Templo estão aflitas, e os sacerdotes vivem gemendo. A cidade sofre amargamente, e não há gente para se reunir nas suas praças.
5 Her adversaries are become chiefs, her enemies prosper; for the Lord hath caused her to grieve because of the multitude of her transgressions: her babes are gone into captivity before the adversary.
5 Os seus inimigos a dominam, e para eles tudo vai bem. É que o por causa dos muitos pecados dos seus moradores. Os seus filhos foram presos pelos inimigos e levados para longe da sua pátria.
6 And there is gone forth from the daughter of Zion all her splendor: her princes are become like harts that have found no pasture, and they flee without strength before the pursuer.
6 A beleza de Jerusalém é coisa do passado. As suas autoridades são como que estão fracos de fome e fogem, sem forças, dos caçadores.
7 Jerusalem remembereth in the days of her affliction and of her miseries all her magnificent things which have been in the days of old: when her people fell into the hand of the adversary, with none to help her, the adversaries looked at her, they laughed at the cessation of her glory.
7 Nestes dias de tristeza e aflição, Jerusalém lembra de todas as riquezas que teve no passado. Ela se recorda de que ninguém veio ajudá-la quando caiu em poder dos inimigos, que zombaram dela na sua queda.
8 A grievous sin did Jerusalem commit, therefore is she become a wanderer: all that honored her hold her in contempt, because they have seen her nakedness; she also sigheth, and turneth ashamed backward.
8 Ela perdeu a honra; está nua, e todos a desprezam. Ela vive gemendo e esconde o rosto, envergonhada. Jerusalém se tornou por haver pecado gravemente.
9 With her uncleanness on her skirts, she thought not of her latter end: therefore is she come down wonderfully, without one to comfort her. Behold, O Lord, my affliction; for the enemy hath become great above me.
9 Era fácil ver a mancha do seu pecado. Jerusalém não pensou no que poderia acontecer. Ela caiu de modo terrível e não tem quem a console. Os seus inimigos venceram, e ela pede que o
10 His hand hath the adversary spread out over all her magnificent things; for she hath seen nations entering into her sanctuary, of whom thou didst command that they should not enter into thy congregation.
10 Os inimigos levaram embora todas as suas riquezas. O povo viu os pagãos entrarem no Templo, coisa que Deus os proibiu de fazer.
11 all her people sigh, they are seeking bread; they have given their precious things for food to refresh their soul: see, O Lord, and look, how I have been brought low.
11 O povo de Jerusalém anda gemendo, procurando o que comer; eles trocaram as suas riquezas por alimentos para poder continuar a viver. A cidade diz: “Ó e vê a minha desgraça!”
12 "I adjure you, all that pass this way, behold, and see if there be any pain like unto my pain, which hath been inflicted on me, wherewith the Lord hath aggrieved me on the day of his fierce anger.
12 Aos que vão passando, Jerusalém diz: “Olhem para mim! Será que existe uma dor igual à minha? No dia em que ficou o
13 From on high hath he sent a fire into my bones, and breaketh them one by one: he hath spread a net for my feet, he hath caused me to return backward; he hath made me desolate, sick all the day.
13 “Lá de cima, Deus enviou um fogo que queima dentro de mim. Ele me armou uma armadilha e me jogou no chão. Depois, me abandonou num sofrimento que não tem mais fim.
14 Bound fast is the yoke of my transgressions by his hand, they are wreathed, and come up upon my neck; he hath made my strength to stumble: the Lord hath given me up into the hands of those against whom I am not able to rise up.
14 “Ele tomou nota dos meus pecados, amarrou-os todos juntos, pendurou-os no meu pescoço, e o peso deles acabou com as minhas forças. O Senhor me entregou aos meus inimigos, e eu não fui capaz de resistir.
15 The Lord hath trodden under foot all my mighty men in the midst of me; he hath called an assembly against me to crush my young men: a winepress hath the Lord trodden over the virgin, the daughter of Judah.
15 “O Senhor fez pouco dos meus melhores soldados. Ele mandou um exército para destruir os meus moços e esmagou o meu povo santo como se esmagam as uvas para fazer vinho.
16 For these things do I weep; my eye, my eye runneth down with water; because far from me is the comforter that should refresh my soul: my children are in misery, because the enemy hath prevailed."
16 “Tudo isso me faz chorar e deixa os meus olhos cheios de lágrimas. Não há ninguém que me console, ninguém que me anime. Os inimigos me derrotaram, e o meu povo ficou no meio de ruínas.
17 Zion spreadeth forth her hands, without one to comfort her; the Lord hath given a charge concerning Jacob to all his adversaries round about him: Jerusalem is become as an unclean woman among them.
17 “Eu estendo as mãos, mas ninguém quer me ajudar. De todos os lados, o e eles me tratam como se eu fosse uma coisa nojenta.
18 "Righteous is the Lord; for against his orders have I rebelled: oh do hear, all ye people, and see my pain! my virgins and my young men are gone into captivity.
18 “Mas o Senhor é justo e me castigou, pois eu me revoltei contra os seus mandamentos. Todos os povos, escutem! Vejam a minha dor! As minhas moças e os meus moços foram levados para longe como prisioneiros.
19 I called for my lovers, but they deceived me: my priests and my elders perished in the city; for they sought food for themselves to refresh their soul.
19 “Pedi ajuda aos meus aliados, mas eles me traíram. Os sacerdotes e as autoridades morreram nas minhas ruas, enquanto procuravam comida para poder continuar a viver.
20 See, O Lord! how I am in distress; my bowels are heated; my heart is turned round within me; because I have grievously rebelled: abroad bereaveth the sword, at home, like the pestilence.
20 “Vê, ó Senhor , a minha aflição; estou profundamente perturbada! A dor aperta o meu coração quando penso que me revoltei contra ti. Há assassinatos nas ruas, e até dentro das casas há mortes.
21 They hear how greatly I sigh, yet there is none to comfort me; all my enemies have heard of my misfortune, they are glad that thou hast done it: oh that thou wouldst bring the day which thou hast proclaimed against me, that they may become like me.
21 “Ó Deus, ouve os meus gemidos, pois não há ninguém que me console. Todos os meus inimigos sabem da minha desgraça e ficam contentes porque tu me fizeste sofrer. Faze com que venha o dia que prometeste, para que os meus inimigos sofram tanto quanto eu.
22 Let all their wickedness come before thee, and do unto them as thou hast done unto me because of all my transgressions; for many are my sighs, and my heart is sick."
22 “Condena-os por causa de todas as suas maldades, castiga-os como me castigaste por causa dos meus pecados. Eu não paro de gemer, e o meu coração está doente.”
