Leeser Old Testament (LEESER) vs NVI
1 And the Lord spoke unto Joshua, saying,
1 Disse o Senhor a Josué:
2 speak to the children of Israel, saying, Appoint for yourselves the cities of refuge, whereof I have spoken unto you by the hand of Moses;
2 "Diga aos israelitas que designem as cidades de refúgio, como lhes ordenei por meio de Moisés,
3 That thither may flee the manslayer that killeth any person unawares, without knowledge; and they shall be unto you for a refuge from the avenger of the blood.
3 para que todo aquele que matar alguém sem intenção e acidentalmente possa fugir para lá e proteger-se do vingador da vítima.
4 And he shall flee unto one of those cities, and he shall stand at the entrance of the gate of the city, and speak in the ears of the elders of that city his words; and they shall take him into the city unto them, and give him a place, that he may dwell among them.
4 "Quando o homicida involuntário fugir para uma dessas cidades, terá que colocar-se junto à porta da cidade e expor o caso às autoridades daquela cidade. Eles o receberão e lhe darão um local para morar entre eles.
5 And if the avenger of the blood should pursue after him, then shall they not deliver the manslayer up into his hand; because without knowledge did he smite his neighbor, and he was not an enemy to him in time past.
5 Caso o vingador da vítima o persiga, eles não o entregarão, pois matou seu próximo acidentalmente, sem maldade e sem premeditação.
6 And he shall dwell in that city, until he shall have stood before the congregation for judgment, and until the death of the highpriest that may be in those days: then shall the manslayer return, and come unto his own house, unto the city whence he hath fled.
6 Todavia, ele terá que permanecer naquela cidade até comparecer a julgamento perante a comunidade e até morrer o sumo sacerdote que estiver servindo naquele período. Então poderá voltar para a sua própria casa, à cidade de onde fugiu".
7 And they appointed Kedesh in Galilee in the mountain of Naphtali, and Shechem in the mountain of Ephraim, and Kiryatharba, which is Hebron, in the mountain of Judah.
7 Assim eles separaram Quedes, na Galiléia, nos montes de Naftali, Siquém, nos montes de Efraim, e Quiriate-Arba, que é Hebrom, nos montes de Judá.
8 And on the other side of the Jordan by Jericho eastward, they appointed Bezer in the wilderness in the plain from the tribe of Reuben, and Ramoth in Gilad from the tribe of Gad, and Golan in Bashan from the tribe of Menasseh.
8 No lado leste do Jordão, perto de Jericó designaram Bezer, no planalto desértico da tribo de Rúben; Ramote, em Gileade, na tribo de Gade; e Golã, em Basã, na tribo de Manassés.
9 These were the cities assigned for all the children of Israel, and for the stranger that sojourneth among them, that thither might flee whosoever killeth any person at unawares, and that he should not die by the hand of the avenger of the blood, until he have stood before the congregation.
9 Qualquer israelita ou estrangeiro residente que matasse alguém sem intenção, poderia fugir para qualquer dessas cidades para isso designadas e escapar do vingador da vítima, antes de comparecer a julgamento perante a comunidade.
