1 And it came to pass after the death of Moses, the servant of the Lord, that the Lord spoke unto Joshua the son of Nun, the minister of Moses, saying,
1 Então, após a morte de Moisés, o servo do SENHOR, sucedeu que o SENHOR falou com Josué, o filho de Num, ministro de Moisés, dizendo:
2 Moses my servant is dead; now therefore arise, pass over this Jordan, thou, and all this people, unto the land which I do give to them, to the children of Israel.
2 Moisés, o meu servo, está morto; agora, portanto, levanta-te, vai sobre este Jordão, tu e todo este povo, para a terra que eu dou aos filhos de Israel.
3 Every place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon, that have I given unto you, as I said unto Moses.
3 Todo o lugar que pisar a sola do teu pé, vo-lo tenho dado, conforme declarei a Moisés.
4 From the wilderness and this Lebanon even unto the great river, the river Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites, and unto the great sea toward the going down of the sun, shall be your boundary.
4 Desde o deserto e do Líbano até o grande rio, o rio Eufrates, toda a terra dos heteus, e até o grande mar em direção ao poente do sol, será o vosso termo.
5 No man shall be able to stand up before thee all the days of thy life; as I was with Moses, so will I be with thee: I will not let thee fail, nor forsake thee.
5 Não haverá homem capaz de permanecer de pé diante de ti, em todos os dias da tua vida; tal como estive com Moisés, assim também estarei contigo; não falharei contigo, tampouco te abandonarei.
6 Be strong and of a good courage; for thou shalt divide for an inheritance unto this people the land, which I swore unto their fathers to give to them.
6 Sê forte e de boa coragem, pois para este povo dividirás a terra por herança, a qual jurei aos seus pais que lhes daria.
7 Only be thou strong and very courageous, to observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant hath commanded thee: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left; in order that thou mayest prosper whithersoever thou goest.
7 Somente sê tu forte e muito corajoso, que tu possas observar e agir de acordo com toda a lei que meu servo Moisés ordenou-te; dela não te desvies nem para a direita, nem para a esquerda, para que possas prosperar por onde quer que fores.
8 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, in order that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein; for then shalt thou make thy way prosperous, and then shalt thou have good success.
8 Este livro da lei não se apartará de tua boca; mas nele meditarás dia e noite, a fim de que possas observar e fazer de acordo com tudo o que nele está escrito, porque então farás próspero o teu caminho, e serás bem-sucedido.
9 Behold, I have commanded thee, Be strong and of good courage; be not dismayed, neither be thou discouraged; for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.
9 Não tenho eu te ordenado? Sê forte e de boa coragem; não temas, tampouco fiques desanimado, pois o SENHOR teu Deus é contigo, por onde quer que fores.
10 Then Joshua commanded the officers of the people, saying,
10 Então, Josué ordenou aos oficiais do povo, dizendo:
11 Pass through the midst of the camp, and command the people, saying, Prepare yourselves provisions; for after only three days more ye shall pass over this Jordan, to go in to possess the land, which the Lord your God giveth you, to possess it.
11 Passai pelo meio do acampamento, e ordenai ao povo, dizendo: Preparai as vossas provisões; pois em três dias atravessareis sobre esse Jordão, para entrardes na posse da terra que vos dá o SENHOR, vosso Deus, para possuí-la.
12 And to the Reubenites, and to the Gadites, and to half the tribe of Menasseh, spoke Joshua, saying,
12 E falou Josué aos rubenitas, e aos gaditas, e à meia tribo de Manassés, dizendo:
13 Remember the word which Moses the servant of the Lord commanded you, saying, The Lord your God hath granted you rest, and hath given you this land;
13 Lembrai da palavra que vos ordenou Moisés, o servo do SENHOR, dizendo: O SENHOR, vosso Deus, vos dá descanso, e vos dá esta terra.
14 Your wives, your little ones, and your cattle, shall remain in the land which Moses gave you on this side of the Jordan; but ye shall pass over armed before your brethren, all the mighty men of valor, and help them;
14 As vossas esposas, os vossos pequenos e o vosso gado, permanecerão na terra que Moisés vos deu neste lado do Jordão; mas vós passareis armados diante dos vossos irmãos, todos os homens fortes e valentes, ajudá-lo-eis;
15 Until the Lord shall have granted your brethren rest, as he hath done to you, and they also have taken possession of the land which the Lord your God giveth them: then shall ye return unto the land of your possession, and possess it, which Moses the servant of the Lord gave you on this side of the Jordan, toward the rising of the sun.
15 até que o SENHOR dê descanso a vossos irmãos, tal como ele tem dado a vós, e eles também possuam a terra que o SENHOR, vosso Deus, lhes-dá; então retornareis à terra da vossa possessão, a qual vos deu Moisés, servo do SENHOR, neste lado do Jordão em direção ao sol nascente, e dela usufruireis.
16 And they answered Joshua, saying, All that thou hast commanded us will we do, and whithersoever thou wilt send us will we go.
16 E eles responderam a Josué, dizendo: Tudo o que nos ordenaste, faremos, e para onde quer que nos envies, iremos.
17 Entirely so as we have hearkened unto Moses, thus will we hearken unto thee: only the Lord thy God be with thee, as he was with Moses.
17 Conforme atentamos a Moisés em todas as coisas, assim também atentaremos a ti; basta que o SENHOR teu Deus seja contigo, como era com Moisés.
18 Every man that doth rebel against thy order, and will not hearken unto thy words in all that thou mayest command him, shall be put to death: only be strong and of a good courage.
18 Qualquer um que se rebelar contra o teu mandamento, e não atentar às tuas palavras em tudo o que ordenares, será morto; somente sê forte e de boa coragem.
