Jeremias 7
Leeser Old Testament (LEESER) vs NTLH
1 The word that came to Jeremiah from the Lord, saying,
1 — ausente —
2 Place thyself in the gate of the house of the Lord, and proclaim there this word, and say, Hear the word of the Lord, all ye of Judah, that enter in by these gates to bow down before the Lord.
2 — ausente —
3 Thus hath said the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, Amend your ways and your deeds, and I will permit you to dwell in this place.
3 — ausente —
4 But do not rely on the words of falsehood, saying, The temple of the Lord, The temple of the Lord, The temple of the Lord, as they say.
4 Não confiem mais nestas palavras mentirosas: “Nós estamos seguros! Este é o Templo do Senhor , este é o Templo do Senhor , este é o Templo do Senhor !”
5 For if ye thoroughly amend your ways and your deeds; if ye thoroughly execute justice between a man and his neighbor;
5 — Mudem de vida e parem de fazer o que estão fazendo. Sejam honestos uns com os outros.
6 If ye oppress not the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow, and shed not innocent blood in this place, and walk not after other gods to your own hurt:
6 Parem de explorar os estrangeiros, os órfãos e as viúvas. Não matem mais pessoas inocentes neste lugar. E parem de adorar outros deuses, pois isso vai acabar com vocês.
7 Then will I permit you to dwell in this place, in the land that I have given to your fathers, from eternity to eternity.
7 Se vocês mudarem de vida, eu deixarei que continuem morando aqui, na terra que dei para sempre aos seus antepassados.
8 Behold, ye rely on the words of falsehood, that cannot profit.
8 — Vejam! Vocês estão confiando em palavras mentirosas e sem valor.
9 How? will ye steal, murder, and commit adultery, and swear falsely, and burn incense unto Baal, and walk after other gods of which ye have no knowledge;
9 Vocês roubam, matam, cometem adultério, juram para encobrir mentiras, oferecem sacrifícios a Baal e adoram outros deuses que vocês não conheciam no passado.
10 And then come and stand before my presence in this house, which is called by my name, and say, "We are delivered;" in order to do all these abominations?
10 Fazem coisas que eu detesto, depois vêm e ficam na minha presença, no meu próprio Templo, e dizem: “Nós estamos seguros!”
11 Is then this house, which is called by my name, become a den of robbers in your eyes? But I also, behold, I have seen it, saith the Lord.
11 Será que vocês estão pensando que o meu Templo é um esconderijo de ladrões? Eu tenho visto o que vocês estão fazendo. Sou eu, o Senhor , quem está falando.
12 For go ye now unto my place which was in Shiloh, where I caused my name to dwell at the first, and see what I did unto it because of the wickedness of my people Israel.
12 Vão a Siló , o primeiro lugar que escolhi para nele ser adorado, e vejam o que eu fiz ali por causa da maldade de Israel, o meu povo.
13 And now, whereas ye have done all these acts, saith the Lord, and I spoke unto you, causing the prophets to rise up early and speaking, while ye would not hear; and I called you, but ye would not answer:
13 Vocês têm cometido todos esses pecados de que falei. Eu os avisei muitas e muitas vezes, mas vocês não quiseram me ouvir; e, quando eu chamei, não me responderam. Sou eu, o Senhor , quem está falando.
14 Therefore will I do unto this house, which is called by my name, whereon ye rely, and unto the place which I have given to you and to your fathers, as I have done to Shiloh.
14 Por isso, a mesma coisa que fiz com Siló vou fazer com este meu Templo em que vocês confiam. O que fiz em Siló vou fazer neste lugar que dei a vocês e aos seus antepassados.
15 And I will cast you out of my presence, as I have cast out all your brethren, all the seed of Ephraim.
15 Vou expulsar vocês da minha presença como fiz com os seus parentes, o povo do Reino do Norte.
16 But thoupray not thou in behalf of this people, nor lift up in their behalf entreaty or prayer, nor make intercession to me; for I will not hear thee.
16 Deus disse: — Jeremias, não ore por este povo. Não peça, nem implore em favor deles; não insista comigo, porque eu não atenderei.
17 Dost thou not see what they are doing in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem?
17 Será que você não vê o que eles andam fazendo nas cidades de Judá e nas ruas de Jerusalém?
18 The children gather wood, and the fathers kindle the fire, and the women knead dough, to make cakes for the queen of heaven, and they pour out drinkofferings unto other gods, in order to provoke me to anger.
18 As crianças apanham lenha, os homens acendem o fogo, e as mulheres assam bolos para oferecer à deusa que é chamada de “Rainha do Céu”. Também derramam bebidas como oferta a outros deuses e fazem isso para me irritar e ferir.
19 Do they provoke me to anger? saith the Lord, and not themselves, to the shame of their own faces?
19 Mas será que é a mim que eles estão ferindo? Eu afirmo que não! Eles estão ferindo a si mesmos e vão passar vergonha.
20 Therefore thus hath said the Lord Eternal, Behold my anger and my fury shall be poured out upon this place, over man, and over beast, and over the trees of the field, and over the fruit of the ground; and it shall burn, and it shall not be quenched.
20 Assim eu, o Senhor Deus, derramarei a minha ira e o meu furor sobre este lugar. Descarregarei o meu furor sobre as pessoas e os animais e até sobre as árvores e as plantações. E a minha ira será como um fogo que ninguém pode apagar.
21 Thus hath said the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, Add your burntofferings unto your peacesacrifices, and eat the flesh thereof.
21 — Alguns sacrifícios são completamente queimados sobre o altar, mas a carne de outros sacrifícios vocês têm o direito de comer. Porém eu, o Senhor Todo-Poderoso, o Deus de Israel, digo que não me importo que vocês comam a carne toda.
22 For I spoke not with your fathers, and I commanded them not on the day of my bringing them out of the land of Egypt, concerning burntoffering or sacrifice;
22 Quando tirei do Egito os seus antepassados, não dei ordens a respeito do oferecimento de animais que são completamente queimados nem a respeito de outros tipos de sacrifícios.
23 But this thing did I command them, saying, Hearken to my voice, and I will be unto you for a God, and ye shall be unto me for a people; and walk ye altogether on the way which I may command you, in order that it may be well unto you.
23 Mas o que ordenei foi que me obedecessem, de modo que eu seria o Deus deles, e eles seriam o meu povo. Disse que vivessem sempre como eu tinha mandado, para que tudo corresse bem para eles.
24 Yet they hearkened not, and inclined not their ear; but they walked in the counsels, in the stubbornness of their evil heart; and they went backward, and not forward:
24 Mas eles não me deram atenção, nem obedeceram. Pelo contrário, fizeram tudo o que o seu coração teimoso e mau queria. Assim, em vez de melhorarem, eles pioraram.
25 Since the day that your fathers came forth out of the land of Egypt until this day; and I sent unto you all my servants the prophets, sending them daily in the morning early;
25 Desde o dia em que os seus antepassados saíram do Egito até hoje, tenho sempre mandado todos os meus servos , os profetas , a vocês.
26 Yet they hearkened not unto me, and inclined not their ear; but they hardened their neck; they did worse than their fathers.
26 Mas vocês não lhes deram atenção, nem obedeceram. Pelo contrário, continuaram teimosos e fizeram ainda pior do que os seus antepassados.
27 And if thou speak unto them all these words, and they will not hearken to thee; and if thou call unto them, and they will not answer thee:
27 — Portanto, Jeremias, você dirá todas essas palavras, mas eles não vão dar atenção; você os chamará, mas eles não vão responder.
28 Then shalt thou say unto them, This is the nation that hearken not to the voice of the Lord their God, and accept not correction; lost is the truth, and is obliterated from their mouth.
28 Você lhes dirá que eles são um povo que não obedece a mim, o Senhor , o Deus deles. São um povo que não aceita ser corrigido. Não existe mais sinceridade; nem se fala mais nisso.
29 Cut off thy flowing hair, and cast it away, and take up on mountaintops a lamentation; for rejected hath the Lord and forsaken the generation of his wrath.
29 Deus disse ainda: “Chore, povo de Jerusalém. Corte os seus cabelos e jogue fora. Cante música triste no alto dos montes, pois eu, o e abandonei o meu povo.”
30 For the children of Judah have done what is evil in my eyes, saith the Lord: they have set up their abominations in the house which is called by my name, to pollute it.
30 — O povo de Judá fez uma coisa que eu acho errada. Eles colocaram os seus ídolos, que eu detesto, no meu Templo e o mancharam. Sou eu, o Senhor , quem está falando.
31 And they have built the highplaces of Thophet, which is in the valley of Benhinnom, to burn their sons and their daughters in the fire; which I had not commanded, and which never came into my mind.
31 Construíram um altar que foi chamado de Tofete, no vale de Ben-Hinom, e ali queimam os seus filhos e filhas como sacrifício . Eu não dei ordem para isso e nunca pensei nisso.
32 Therefore, behold days are coming, saith the Lord, that it shall not be called any more Thophet, or The valley of Benhinnom, but The valley of slaughter: and they shall bury in Thophet, for want of room.
32 Portanto, certamente virá o tempo em que esse lugar não será mais chamado de Tofete nem de vale de Ben-Hinom, mas de “vale da Matança”. Vão sepultar gente em Tofete por não haver outro lugar.
33 And the carcasses of this people shall become food unto the fowls of the heavens, and unto the beasts of the earth, with none to chase them away.
33 Os mortos servirão de comida para as aves e para os animais selvagens, e não haverá ninguém para os espantar.
34 And I will cause to cease from the cities of Judah, and from the streets of Jerusalem, the voice of gladness, and the voice of joy, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride; for a desert shall the land become.
34 A terra ficará deserta. E eu acabarei com os gritos de alegria e de felicidade e com o barulho alegre das festas de casamento, tanto nas cidades de Judá como nas ruas de Jerusalém.
