1 Against Moab. Thus hath said the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, Woe unto Nebo! for it is wasted; made ashamed, captured is Kiryathayim; made ashamed is Misgab and dismayed.
1 Esta é a mensagem acerca de Moabe. Assim diz o S enhor dos Exércitos, o Deus de Israel: “Que aflição espera a cidade de Nebo; logo ela estará em ruínas! A cidade de Quiriataim será humilhada e conquistada; a fortaleza será envergonhada e derrubada.
2 There is no more praise of Moab: in Cheshbon have they devised evil against it, "Come, and let us cut it off from being a nation." Also thou Madmen shalt be ruined; after thee shall pursue the sword.
2 Ninguém mais se orgulhará de Moabe, pois em Hesbom tramam destruí-la. Dizem: ‘Venham, vamos acabar com aquela nação!’. A cidade de Madmém a espada a perseguirá.
3 There is a voice of crying from Choronayim, destruction and a great breach.
3 Ouçam os gritos de Horonaim, gritos de devastação e de grande destruição.
4 Broken down is Moab: her little ones send forth a cry of distress.
4 Toda a terra de Moabe está destruída; suas crianças gritarão aos prantos.
5 For the ascent of Luchith is ascended with weeping and tears; for on the descent of Choronayim the enemies have heard the cry of destruction.
5 Seus refugiados não param de chorar enquanto sobem a ladeira para Luíte. Gritam de terror no caminho que desce para Horonaim.
6 Flee, save your life, and be ye like the solitary tree in the wilderness.
6 Fujam para salvar a vida! Escondam-se
7 For, because thou hast trusted in thy works and in thy treasures, thou also shalt be conquered: and Kemosh shall go forth into exile, with his priests and his princes together.
7 Porque confiaram em sua riqueza e habilidade, serão capturados. Seu deus, Camos, será levado para terras distantes, junto com seus sacerdotes e oficiais.
8 And the water shall come over every city, and no city shall escape: and lost shall be the valley, and destroyed shall be the plain, as the Lord hath said.
8 “Todas as cidades serão destruídas, e ninguém escapará, nem nos planaltos nem nos vales, pois o S
9 Give wings unto Moab, that she may flee and get away; since her cities shall become desolate, without any to dwell therein.
9 Quem dera Moabe tivesse asas para que pudesse voar para longe, pois suas cidades ficarão desertas, sem nenhum habitante.
10 Cursed be he that doth the work of the Lord negligently, and cursed be he that withholdeth his sword from blood.
10 Maldito aquele que não cumprir diligentemente o trabalho do S enhor , que impedir sua espada de derramar sangue!
11 Moab was ever at ease from his youth, and he was resting on his lees, and was not emptied from vessel to vessel, and had not gone into exile: therefore had his taste remained in him, and his scent was not changed.
11 “Desde o início de sua história, Moabe viveu em paz; nunca foi para o exílio. É como o vinho deixado em repouso; não foi passado de uma vasilha para a outra e agora está aromático e suave.
12 Therefore, behold, days are coming, saith the Lord, when I will send unto him tappers, that shall tap him, and they shall empty his vessels, and dash in pieces their bottles.
12 Mas está chegando o dia”, diz o S enhor , “em que enviarei homens para tirar o vinho da vasilha. Eles o despejarão e despedaçarão a vasilha.
13 And Moab shall be ashamed of Kemosh, as the house of Israel were made ashamed because of Bethel their confidence.
13 Enfim Moabe terá vergonha de seu deus, Camos, como o povo de Israel se envergonhou do bezerro de ouro em Betel.
14 How can ye say, We are mighty and men of bravery for the war?
14 “Você costumava dizer: ‘Somos fortes, guerreiros valentes’.
15 Moab is wasted, and into his cities hath the enemy ascended, and his chosen young men are gone down to the slaughter, saith the King, the Lord of hosts is his name.
15 Agora, porém, Moabe e suas cidades serão destruídas; seus jovens mais promissores morrerão”, diz o Rei, cujo nome é S
16 Near is the calamity of Moab to come, and his misfortune hasteneth fast.
16 “A destruição de Moabe vem depressa, a calamidade se aproxima.
17 All ye that are about him bemoan him; and all ye that know his name: say, How is the strong staff broken, the beautiful stick!
17 Vocês, amigos de Moabe, lamentem por ela e chorem! Vejam como o cajado forte está quebrado, como o cetro glorioso está em pedaços!
18 Come down from thy glory, and sit in thirst, thou inhabitress, daughter of Dibon; for the waster of Moab cometh up against thee, he destroyeth thy strongholds.
18 “Desçam de sua glória e sentem-se no pó, habitantes de Dibom, pois os destruidores de Moabe também os arrasarão; derrubarão todas as suas torres.
19 Stand by the way, and look out, O inhabitress of Aroer: ask him that fleeth, and her that escapeth, say, What hath been done?
19 Fiquem à beira do caminho e vigiem, habitantes de Aroer. Perguntem àqueles que fogem de Moabe: ‘O que aconteceu?’.
20 Moab hath been made ashamed; for it is broken down; wail, and cry aloud: tell ye it by the Arnon, that Moab is wasted,
20 “A resposta será: ‘Moabe está em ruínas, humilhada; chorem e lamentem! Anunciem nas margens do rio Arnom: Moabe foi destruída!’.
21 And punishment is come over the land of the plain, over Cholon, and over Yahzah, and over Mephaath,
21 O julgamento chegou às cidades do planalto: a Holom, Jaza e Mefaate,
22 And over Dibon, and over Nebo, and over Bethdiblathayim,
22 a Dibom, Nebo e Bete-Diblataim,
23 And over Kiryathayim, and over Bethgamul, and over Bethmeon,
23 a Quiriataim, Bete-Gamul e Bete-Meom,
24 And over Keriyoth, and over Bozrah, and over all the cities of the land of Moab, that are far and that are near.
24 a Queriote e Bozra e a todas as cidades de Moabe, distantes e próximas.
25 Hewn away is the horn of Moab, and his arm is broken, saith the Lord.
25 “A força de Moabe acabou; seu braço foi quebrado”, diz o S
26 Make him drunken; for he magnified himself against the Lord: and Moab shall wallow in his vomit, and he also shall become an object of derision.
26 “Que ela cambaleie e caia como um bêbado, pois se rebelou contra o S Moabe se revolverá no próprio vômito, e todos zombarão dela.
27 For was not Israel a derision unto thee? or was he found among thieves? that whenever thou spokest of him, thou hadst to shake thy head?
27 Você não zombou dos israelitas? Acaso foram encontrados na companhia de ladrões para que os desprezassem dessa forma?
28 Leave the cities, and dwell on rocks, O ye that dwell in Moab; and be ye like the dove that maketh her nest in the sides of the mouth of rocky clefts.
28 “Fujam de suas cidades e morem em cavernas habitantes de Moabe. Escondam-se como pombas que fazem seus ninhos nas fendas dos rochedos.
29 We have heard the pride of Moab, who is so exceedingly proud, his haughtiness, and his pride, and his arrogance, and the overbearingness of his heart.
29 Todos nós ouvimos falar do orgulho de Moabe, pois seu orgulho é muito grande. Sabemos de sua soberba, sua arrogância e seu coração altivo.
30 I will know, saith the Lord, his wrath, and how causeless it is: his liars have done what is not right.
30 Conheço sua insolência”, diz o S “mas sua arrogância é vazia, tão vazia quanto seus atos.
31 Therefore will I wail for Moab, and for all Moab will I cry out; for the men of Kircheres shall people moan.
31 Agora, chorarei por Moabe, sim, gritarei de tristeza por Moabe; lamentarei pelos homens de Quir-Haresete.
32 With the weeping of Yazer will I weep for thee, O vine of Sibmah; thy tendrils once passed over the sea, they reached as far as to the sea of Yazer: over thy summerfruits and over thy vintage the waster is fallen.
32 “Habitantes de Sibma, cheia de videiras, chorarei por vocês mais do que chorei por Jazer. Seus ramos se estendiam até o mar Morto, mas o destruidor acabou com tudo; colheu suas uvas e seus frutos de verão.
33 And banished are joy and gladness from Carmel, and from the land of Moab; and I have caused the wine to cease from the winepresses; none shall tread the press with the vintners call; battle crynor vintners call.
33 Alegria e exultação desapareceram da fértil Moabe; os tanques de prensar deixaram de produzir vinho. Ninguém mais pisa as uvas com gritos alegres; há gritos, mas não de alegria.
34 From the loud cry of Cheshbon as far as Elaleh, even unto Yahaz, have they sent forth their voice, from Zoar even unto Choronayim, to the third Eglath; for the waters also of Nimrim shall become desolate.
34 “Seus gritos de terror são ouvidos desde Hesbom até Eleale e Jaaz; desde Zoar até Horonaim e Eglate-Selisia. Agora, até as águas de Ninrim secaram.
35 Moreover will I cause to cease unto Moab, saith the Lord, him that offereth on the highplaces, and him that burneth incense to his gods.
35 “Darei fim a Moabe”, diz o S enhor , “pois o povo oferece sacrifícios nos santuários idólatras e queima incenso a seus falsos deuses.
36 Therefore shall my heart groan for Moab like flutes, and my heart shall groan like flutes for the men of Kircheres; for the cause that the remnant of the riches he had gotten are lost.
36 Meu coração geme como uma flauta por Moabe e por Quir-Haresete, pois toda a sua riqueza se foi.
37 For every head is bald, and every beard is shorn: upon all the hands are cuttings, and upon the loins is sackcloth.
37 Seus habitantes raspam a cabeça e a barba, fazem cortes nas mãos e vestem panos de saco.
38 Upon all the roofs of Moab, and in her streets, there is everywhere lamentation; for I have broken Moab like a vessel which hath no value, saith the Lord.
38 Há choro e tristeza em todas as casas e ruas de Moabe, pois eu a despedacei como um jarro velho que ninguém quer”, diz o S enhor .
39 Oh, how is it broken down! wail! how hath Moab turned the back with shame! and Moab shall be a derision and a dismay to all those around him.
39 “Como se estilhaçou! Ouçam o choro! Vejam a humilhação de Moabe! Tornou-se objeto de zombaria, exemplo de ruína para todos os seus vizinhos.”
40 For thus hath said the Lord, Behold, as the eagle shall he fly, and he shall spread out his wings over Moab.
40 Assim diz o S enhor : “Veja, o inimigo desce veloz, como águia, e abre suas asas sobre Moabe!
41 Captured are the fortresses, and the strongholds are conquered: and the heart of the mighty men of Moab shall be on that day as the heart of a woman in her pangs.
41 Suas cidades cairão, e suas fortalezas serão conquistadas. Até os guerreiros mais valentes ficarão em agonia, como a mulher em trabalho de parto.
42 And Moab shall be destroyed from being a people; because it hath magnified himself against the Lord.
42 Moabe deixará de ser nação, pois se exaltou diante do S
43 Terror, and the pit, and the snare, shall be upon thee, O inhabitant of Moab, saith the Lord.
43 “Terror, armadilhas e laços a esperam, ó Moabe!”, diz o S
44 He that fleeth from the terror shall fall into the pit; and he that getteth up out of the pit shall be caught in the snare; for I will bring upon it, even upon Moab, the year of their visitation, saith the Lord.
44 “Quem fugir do terror cairá na armadilha, quem escapar da armadilha será apanhado no laço. Não deixarei que ninguém escape, pois a hora de seu castigo chegou”, diz o S
45 Under the shadow of Cheshbon stand still, deprived of strength, those that flee; but a fire cometh forth out of Cheshbon, and a flame from the midst of Sichon, and it devoureth the corner of Moab, and the crown of the head of the children of vaunting.
45 “O povo foge até Hesbom, mas não consegue seguir adiante, pois de Hesbom, antiga cidade do rei Seom, vem fogo para devorar toda a terra e seus rebeldes habitantes.
46 Woe unto thee, O Moab! lost is the people of Kemosh; for thy sons are taken captives, and thy daughters into captivity.
46 “Que aflição a espera, ó Moabe! O povo do deus Camos será destruído! Seus filhos e suas filhas foram levados para o exílio.
47 Yet will I bring back again the captivity of Moab in the end of days, saith the Lord. Thus far is the punishment of Moab.
47 No futuro, porém, restaurarei a situação de Moabe. Eu, o S Aqui termina a profecia de Jeremias contra Moabe.
