Jeremias 32

1 The word that came to Jeremiah from the Lord in the tenth year of Zedekiah the king of Judah, which is the eighteenth year of Nebuchadrezzar.
1 Jeremias recebeu esta mensagem do S enhor no décimo ano do reinado de Zedequias, rei de Judá. Esse também foi o décimo oitavo ano do reinado de Nabucodonosor.
2 And at that time the king of Babylons army was besieging Jerusalem; and Jeremiah the prophet was shut up in the court of the prison, which was in the house of the king of Judah;
2 Nessa ocasião, o exército babilônio cercava Jerusalém, e Jeremias estava preso no pátio da guarda, no palácio real.
3 Because Zedekiah the king of Judah had shut him up, saying, Wherefore art thou prophesying, saying, Thus hath said the Lord, Behold, I will give up this city into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall capture it.
3 Zedequias, rei de Judá, o havia colocado ali e perguntado por que ele continuava a anunciar esta profecia: “Assim diz o S enhor : ‘Estou prestes a entregar esta cidade ao rei da Babilônia, e ele a conquistará.
4 And Zedekiah the king of Judah shall not escape out of the hand of the Chaldeans, because he shall surely be given up into the hand of the king of Babylon, and his mouth shall speak to his mouth, and his eyes shall behold his eyes;
4 O rei Zedequias será capturado pelos babilônios e levado para falar face a face com o rei da Babilônia.
5 And to Babylon shall he lead Zedekiah, and there shall he remain until I think of him, saith the Lord: though ye fight with the Chaldeans, ye shall not prosper.
5 O rei levará Zedequias para a Babilônia, onde lidarei com ele’, diz o S enhor . ‘Vocês não serão bem-sucedidos se lutarem contra os babilônios’”.
6 And Jeremiah said, The word of the Lord came unto me, saying,
6 Nesse tempo, o S enhor me enviou uma mensagem:
7 Behold, Chanamel the son of Shallum thy uncle is coming unto thee, saying, Buy for thyself my field that is in Anathoth; for unto thee belongeth the right of redemption to buy it.
7 “Seu primo Hanameel, filho de Salum, virá e lhe dirá: ‘Compre meu campo em Anatote. Pela lei, você tem direito de comprá-lo antes que eu o ofereça a outro’”.
8 And there came to me Chanamel my uncles son according to the word of the Lord into the court of the prison, and he said unto me, Buy, I pray thee, my field, that is in Anathoth, which is in the land of Benjamin; for to thee belongeth the right of inheritance, and to thee belongeth the redemption, buy it for thyself: then did I know that it was the word of the Lord.
8 Exatamente como o S enhor tinha dito, meu primo Hanameel veio me visitar na prisão e disse: “Compre meu campo em Anatote, na terra de Benjamim. Pela lei, você tem direito de comprá-lo antes que eu o ofereça a outro. Portanto, compre-o para si”. Então entendi que a mensagem que eu tinha ouvido era do S enhor .
9 And I bought the field from Chanamel my uncles son, that is in Anathoth; and I weighed out unto him the money, seven shekels, and ten pieces of silver.
9 Assim, comprei o campo em Anatote e paguei a Hanameel dezessete peças de prata.
10 And I wrote it in a deed, and sealed it, and had it certified by witnesses, and weighed the money in balances.
10 Assinei e selei a escritura diante de testemunhas, pesei a prata e lhe paguei.
11 And I took the deed of the purchase, both that which was sealed, according to the law and custom, and that which was open;
11 Em seguida, peguei a escritura selada e uma cópia não selada com os termos e as condições da compra
12 And I gave the deed of the purchase unto Baruch the son of Neriyah, the son of Machseyah, before the eyes of Chanamel my kinsman, and before the eyes of the witnesses that had signed the deed of the purchase, before the eyes of all the Jews that were sitting in the court of the prison.
12 e as entreguei a Baruque, filho de Nerias, neto de Maaseias. Fiz tudo isso na presença de meu primo Hanameel, das testemunhas que assinaram a escritura e dos homens de Judá que estavam no pátio da guarda.
13 And I charged Baruch before their eyes, saying,
13 Então, na presença deles, disse a Baruque:
14 Thus hath said the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, Take these deeds, this deed of the purchase, both the sealed, and this open deed, and place them in an earthen vessel, in order that they may last many days.
14 “Assim diz o S enhor dos Exércitos, o Deus de Israel: ‘Pegue a escritura selada e a cópia não selada e coloque-as num vaso de barro, a fim de conservá-las por muito tempo’.
15 For thus hath said the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, Yet again shall there be bought houses and fields and vineyards in this land.
15 Pois assim diz o S enhor dos Exércitos, o Deus de Israel: ‘Algum dia, as pessoas voltarão a ter propriedades nesta terra e comprarão e venderão casas, vinhedos e campos’”.
16 And I prayed to the Lord after I had delivered the deed of the purchase unto Baruch the son of Neriyah, saying,
16 Depois que entreguei os documentos a Baruque, filho de Nerias, orei ao S enhor :
17 Ah Lord Eternal! behold, it is thou that hast made the heavens and the earth by thy great power and by thy outstretched arm; nothing is too wonderful for thee;
17 “Ó Soberano S enhor ! Tu fizeste os céus e a terra com tua mão forte e teu braço poderoso. Nada é difícil demais para ti!
18 Thou exercisest kindness unto the thousandth generation, and recompensest the iniquity of the fathers unto the bosom of their children after them; thou art the Great, the Mighty God, the Lord of hosts is his name;
18 Mostras tua bondade a milhares de pessoas, mas também permites que as consequências do pecado de uma geração recaiam sobre a geração seguinte. Tu és Deus grande e poderoso, o S enhor dos Exércitos.
19 Great in counsel, and mighty in execution: thou whose eyes are open over all the ways of the sons of man, to give unto every one according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings;
19 Tens toda sabedoria e fazes grandes milagres. Vês a conduta de todos e lhes dás o que merecem.
20 Who hast displayed signs and wonders in the land of Egypt, up to this day, and in Israel, and among other men; and thou hast made thyself a name, as it is at this day;
20 Realizaste sinais e maravilhas na terra do Egito, feitos lembrados ainda hoje. E continuas a fazer grandes milagres em Israel e em todo o mundo. Por isso o teu nome é famoso até hoje.
21 And thou didst bring forth thy people Israel out of the land of Egypt with signs, and with wonders, and with a strong hand, and with an outstretched arm, and with great terror;
21 “Tiraste Israel do Egito com sinais e maravilhas, com mão forte e braço poderoso e com grande terror.
22 And thou gavest them this land, which thou hadst sworn to their fathers to give unto them, a land flowing with milk and honey;
22 Deste ao povo de Israel esta terra que havias prometido a seus antepassados muito tempo atrás, terra que produz leite e mel com fartura.
23 And they came in, and took possession of it; but they hearkened not to thy voice, and in thy law they did not walk; all that thou hadst commanded them to do they did not do: and thou hast therefore caused all this evil to befall them.
23 Nossos antepassados vieram e tomaram posse da terra, mas não quiseram te obedecer nem seguir tuas instruções. Não fizeram nada do que lhes ordenaste. Por isso enviaste sobre eles esta terrível calamidade.
24 Behold the mounds reach unto the city to capture it; and the city is given up into the hand of the Chaldeans, who fight against it, because of the sword, and of the famine, and of the pestilence: and what thou hast spoken is come to pass; and, behold, thou seest it.
24 “Vê como foram construídas rampas junto aos muros da cidade! Por meio de guerra, fome e doença, a cidade será entregue aos babilônios, que a conquistarão. Tudo aconteceu exatamente como anunciaste.
25 And yet thou hast said unto me, O Lord Eternal, Buy for thyself the field for money, and have it certified by witnesses: while the city is given up into the hand of the Chaldeans.
25 E, no entanto, ó Soberano S enhor , ordenaste que eu comprasse o campo e pagasse um bom preço por ele diante destas testemunhas, embora a cidade esteja prestes a ser entregue aos babilônios”.
26 Then came the word of the Lord unto Jeremiah, saying,
26 Então Jeremias recebeu esta mensagem do S enhor :
27 Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh: shall any thing be too wonderful for me?
27 “Eu sou o S enhor , o Deus de toda a humanidade. Acaso alguma coisa é difícil demais para mim?
28 Therefore thus hath said the Lord, Behold, I will give up this city into the hand of the Chaldeans, and into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar the king of Babylon, and he shall capture it:
28 Portanto, assim diz o S enhor : Entregarei esta cidade aos babilônios e a Nabucodonosor, rei da Babilônia, e ele a conquistará.
29 And the Chaldeans, that fight against this city, shall come and set this city on fire, and burn it, with the houses upon the roofs of which they have offered incense unto Baal, and have poured out drinkofferings unto other gods, in order to provoke me to anger;
29 Os babilônios que estão cercando os muros entrarão na cidade e a incendiarão. Queimarão todas as casas em que o povo provocou minha ira queimando incenso a Baal em seus terraços e apresentando ofertas derramadas a outros deuses.
30 For the children of Israel and the children of Judah have been doing only what is evil in my eyes from their youth; for the children of Israel have been only provoking me to anger with the work of their hands, saith the Lord.
30 Desde o princípio, Israel e Judá fizeram somente o mal. Provocaram minha ira com suas maldades”, diz o S enhor .
31 For to excite my anger and my fury hath been unto me this city from the day that they built it, even until this day; so that I will remove it from before my presence:
31 “Desde o dia em que esta cidade foi construída até hoje, não fez outra coisa senão despertar minha fúria, por isso estou decidido a me livrar dela.
32 Because of all the wickedness of the children of Israel and of the children of Judah, which they have done to provoke me to anger, they, their kings, their princes, their priests, and their prophets, and the men of Judah, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem;
32 “Os pecados de Israel e de Judá — os pecados do povo de Jerusalém, dos reis, dos oficiais, dos sacerdotes e dos profetas — provocaram minha ira.
33 And they turned unto me the back, and not the face: though my prophets taught them, rising up early and teaching; yet they hearkened not to receive instruction.
33 Meu povo deu as costas para mim e se recusou a voltar. Embora eu os tenha ensinado repetidamente, não quiseram receber instrução nem obedecer.
34 But they placed their abominations in the house, which is called by my name, to defile it.
34 Colocaram seus ídolos detestáveis em meu templo e o profanaram.
35 And they built the highplaces of Baal, which are in the valley of the son of Hinnom, to cause their sons and their daughters to pass through the fire unto Molech; which I had not commanded them, and which had not come into my mind, to practise this abomination, in order to mislead Judah to sin.
35 Construíram lugares de adoração a Baal no vale de Ben-Hinom e ali sacrificaram seus filhos e filhas a Moloque. Jamais ordenei tamanha maldade; nunca me passou pela mente! Esse terrível mal fez Israel pecar.”
36 But now, therefore, thus hath said the Lord, the God of Israel, concerning this city, whereof ye say, it is given up into the hand of the king of Babylon through the sword, and through the famine, and through the pestilence:
36 “Agora, quero dizer algo mais a respeito desta cidade. Vocês afirmam: ‘Ela será entregue ao rei da Babilônia por meio de guerra, fome e doença’. Mas assim diz o S enhor , o Deus de Israel:
37 Behold, I will gather them out of all the countries, whither I have driven them in my anger, and in my fury, and in great wrath; and I will bring them back again unto this place, and I will cause them to dwell in safety;
37 Certamente trarei meu povo de volta de todas as nações entre as quais o espalhei em minha fúria. Eu os trarei de volta para este lugar e farei que vivam em segurança.
38 And they shall be unto me for a people, and I will be unto them for a God:
38 Eles serão o meu povo, e eu serei o seu Deus.
39 And I will give them one heart, and one manner, to fear me at all times, that it may be well with them, and with their children after them;
39 Eu lhes darei um só coração e um só propósito: adorar-me para sempre, para o seu próprio bem e para o bem de seus descendentes.
40 And I will make with them an everlasting covenant, that I will not turn away from them, to do them good on my part; and my fear will I place in their heart, so that they may not depart from me.
40 Estabelecerei com eles uma aliança permanente: jamais deixarei de lhes fazer o bem. Porei em seu coração o desejo de me adorar, e eles nunca se afastarão de mim.
41 And I will be glad over them to do them good; and I will plant them in this land in truth, with all my heart and with all my soul.
41 Terei alegria em lhes fazer o bem e os plantarei nesta terra firmemente, de todo o coração.
42 For thus hath said the Lord, Just as I have brought upon this people all this great evil, so will I bring upon them all the good that I speak concerning them.
42 “Assim diz o S enhor : Assim como trouxe todas essas calamidades sobre eles, também lhes farei todo o bem que prometi.
43 And the field shall yet be bought in this land, whereof ye say, It is desolate without man or beast, it is given up into the hand of the Chaldeans.
43 Campos voltarão a ser comprados e vendidos nesta terra sobre a qual hoje vocês dizem: ‘Foi arrasada pelos babilônios, é uma terra desolada, em que não há mais pessoas nem animais’.
44 Men shall buy fields for money, and write it in deeds, and seal it, and certify it by witnesses, in the land of Benjamin, and in the environs of Jerusalem, and in the cities of Judah, and in the cities of the mountain, and in the cities of the lowlands, and in the cities of the south; for I will cause their captivity to return, saith the Lord.
44 Sim, campos voltarão a ser comprados e vendidos e escrituras serão assinadas na terra de Benjamim, aqui em Jerusalém, nas cidades de Judá, na região montanhosa, nas colinas de Judá e no Neguebe. Pois, um dia, eu os restaurarei à sua terra. Eu, o S enhor , falei!”
