Leeser Old Testament (LEESER) vs ARA
1 But when Pashchur the son of Immer the priest, who was chief superintendent in the house of the Lord, heard Jeremiah prophesying these words:
1 Pasur, filho do sacerdote Imer, que era presidente na Casa do Senhor , ouviu a Jeremias profetizando estas coisas.
2 Then smote Pashchur Jeremiah the prophet, and put him in the stocks that were in the upper gate of Benjamin, which was in the house of the Lord.
2 Então, feriu Pasur ao profeta Jeremias e o meteu no tronco que estava na porta superior de Benjamim, na Casa do Senhor . No dia seguinte, Pasur tirou a Jeremias do tronco.
3 And it came to pass on the morrow, that Pashchur brought forth Jeremiah out of the stocks. And Jeremiah said unto him, Not Pashchur Fulness of Freedom hath the Lord called thy name, but Magormissabib Terror all around.
3 Então, lhe disse Jeremias: O Senhor já não te chama Pasur, e sim Terror-Por-Todos-Os-Lados.
4 For thus hath said the Lord, Behold, I will make thee a terror to thyself, and to all thy friends; and they shall fall by the sword of their enemies, and thy eyes shall see it; and all Judah will I give into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall lead them into exile to Babylon, and shall smite them with the sword.
4 Pois assim diz o Senhor : Eis que te farei ser terror para ti mesmo e para todos os teus amigos; estes cairão à espada de seus inimigos, e teus olhos o verão; todo o Judá entregarei nas mãos do rei da Babilônia; este os levará presos à Babilônia e feri-los-á à espada.
5 And I will give up all the wealth of this city, and all its acquisitions, and all its precious things; and all the treasures of the kings of Judah will I give into the hand of their enemies, who shall plunder them, and take them and carry them away to Babylon.
5 Também entregarei toda a riqueza desta cidade, todo o fruto do seu trabalho e todas as suas coisas preciosas; sim, todos os tesouros dos reis de Judá entregarei nas mãos de seus inimigos, os quais hão de saqueá-los, tomá-los e levá-los à Babilônia.
6 And thou, Pashchur, and all the inhabitants of thy house, shall go into captivity; and to Babylon shalt thou come, and there thou shalt die, and there shalt thou be buried, thou, and all thy friends, to whom thou hast prophesied with falsehood.
6 E tu, Pasur, e todos os moradores da tua casa ireis para o cativeiro; irás à Babilônia, onde morrerás e serás sepultado, tu e todos os teus amigos, aos quais profetizaste falsamente.
7 Thou didst persuade me, O Lord, and I was persuaded; thou laidst thy hand strongly on me, and didst prevail: I am laughed at all the time, every one mocketh me.
7 Persuadiste-me, ó Senhor , e persuadido fiquei; mais forte foste do que eu e prevaleceste; sirvo de escárnio todo o dia; cada um deles zomba de mim.
8 For as often as I speak must I cry out, violence and wasting must I proclaim; because the word of the Lord is become unto me a disgrace, and a derision, all the time.
8 Porque, sempre que falo, tenho de gritar e clamar: Violência e destruição! Porque a palavra do Senhor se me tornou um opróbrio e ludíbrio todo o dia.
9 And I thought, I will not make mention of him, and I will not speak any more in his name. But it became in my heart as a burning fire enclosed within my bones, and I was weary with enduring, and I could not overcome it.
9 Quando pensei: não me lembrarei dele e já não falarei no seu nome, então, isso me foi no coração como fogo ardente, encerrado nos meus ossos; já desfaleço de sofrer e não posso mais.
10 For I heard the defaming of many, angry assemblies on every side, "Tell, and we will tell of him." All the men who ought to seek my welfare, watch for my fall; saying, "Peradventure he may he enticed, and we shall prevail against him, and we will then take our revenge on him."
10 Porque ouvi a murmuração de muitos: Há terror por todos os lados! Denunciai, e o denunciaremos! Todos os meus íntimos amigos que aguardam de mim que eu tropece dizem: Bem pode ser que se deixe persuadir; então, prevaleceremos contra ele e dele nos vingaremos.
11 But the Lord is with me as a mighty powerful one; therefore my persecutors will stumble, and they will not prevail: they will be greatly ashamed, for they will not prosper; it is an everlasting confusion which will never be forgotten.
11 Mas o Senhor está comigo como um poderoso guerreiro; por isso, tropeçarão os meus perseguidores e não prevalecerão; serão sobremodo envergonhados; e, porque não se houveram sabiamente, sofrerão afronta perpétua, que jamais se esquecerá.
12 But, O Lord of hosts, that probest the righteous, seest the reins and the heart, let me see thy vengeance on them; for unto thee have I laid open my cause.
12 Tu, pois, ó Senhor dos Exércitos, que provas o justo e esquadrinhas os afetos e o coração, permite veja eu a tua vingança contra eles, pois te confiei a minha causa.
13 Sing unto the Lord, praise ye the Lord; for he hath delivered the soul of the needy from the hand of evildoers.
13 Cantai ao Senhor , louvai ao Senhor ; pois livrou a alma do necessitado das mãos dos malfeitores.
14 Cursed be the day whereon I was born: the day on which my mother bore me shall not be blessed.
14 Maldito o dia em que nasci! Não seja bendito o dia em que me deu à luz minha mãe!
15 Cursed be the man who brought tidings to my father, saying, A manchild is born unto thee. How very glad did he make him!
15 Maldito o homem que deu as novas a meu pai, dizendo: Nasceu-te um filho!, alegrando-o com isso grandemente.
16 And may that same man become like the cities which the Lord overthrew, and bethought himself not; and may he hear a cry of anguish in the morning, and a tumultuous noise at noontide;
16 Seja esse homem como as cidades que o Senhor , sem ter compaixão, destruiu; ouça ele clamor pela manhã e ao meio-dia, alarido.
17 Because I was not slain as I escaped from the womb; or that my mother might have become unto me my grave, and her womb have been affected with a perpetual pregnancy.
17 Por que não me matou Deus no ventre materno? Por que minha mãe não foi minha sepultura? Ou não permaneceu grávida perpetuamente?
18 Wherefore was this that I came forth out of the womb to see trouble and sorrow, that my days should pass away in shame?
18 Por que saí do ventre materno tão somente para ver trabalho e tristeza e para que se consumam de vergonha os meus dias?
