1 And it came to pass in the days of Achaz the son of Jotham, the son of Uzziyahu, the king of Judah, that Rezin the king of Syria, and Pekach the son of Remalyahu, the king of Israel, went up toward Jerusalem to war against it; but were not able to make an attack upon it.
1 Sucedeu, pois, nos dias de Acaz, filho de Jotão, filho de Uzias, rei de Judá, que Rezim, rei da Síria, e Peca, filho de Remalias, rei de Israel, subiram a Jerusalém, para pelejarem contra ela, mas nada puderam contra ela.
2 And it was told unto the house of David, saying, Syria is encamped with Ephraim; and his heart trembled, with the heart of his people, as the trees of the forest are shaken before the wind.
2 E deram aviso à casa de Davi, dizendo: A Síria fez aliança com Efraim. Então se moveu o seu coração, e o coração do seu povo, como se movem as árvores do bosque com o vento.
3 And the Lord said unto Isaiah, Go forth now to meet Achaz, thou with Shearyashub thy son, to the end of the aqueduct of the upper pool, on the highway of the washers field;
3 Então disse o Senhor a Isaías: Agora, tu e teu filho Sear-Jasube, saí ao encontro de Acaz, ao fim do canal do tanque superior, no caminho do campo do lavandeiro.
4 And thou shalt say unto him, Take heed, and be quiet; fear not, and let thy heart not become faint because of these two stumps of smoking firebrands, before the fierce anger of Rezin with Syria, and of the son of Remalyahu.
4 E dize-lhe: Acautela-te, e aquieta-te; não temas, nem se desanime o teu coração por causa destes dois pedaços de tições fumegantes; por causa do ardor da ira de Rezim, e da Síria, e do filho de Remalias.
5 Forasmuch as Syria, with Ephraim and the son of Remalyahu, have taken evil counsel against thee, saying,
5 Porquanto a Síria teve contra ti maligno conselho, com Efraim, e com o filho de Remalias, dizendo:
6 Let us go up against Judah, and besiege it, and let us make a breach therein for us, and set up as king in the midst of it the son of Tabeal:
6 Vamos subir contra Judá, e molestemo-lo e repartamo-lo entre nós, e façamos reinar no meio dele o filho de Tabeal.
7 Thus hath said the Lord Eternal, It shall not succeed, and it shall not come to pass.
7 Assim diz o Senhor DEUS: Isto não subsistirá, nem tampouco acontecerá.
8 For the head of Syria is Damascus, and the head of Damascus is Rezin: and within sixty and five years shall Ephraim be broken, to be no more a people.
8 Porém a cabeça da Síria será Damasco, e a cabeça de Damasco Rezim; e dentro de sessenta e cinco anos Efraim será destruído, e deixará de ser povo.
9 And the head of Ephraim is Samaria, and the head of Samaria is Remalyahus son. If ye will not believe, surely ye shall not have permanence.
9 Entretanto a cabeça de Efraim será Samaria, e a cabeça de Samaria o filho de Remalias; se não o crerdes, certamente não haveis de permanecer.
10 And the Lord continued to speak unto Achaz, saying,
10 E continuou o Senhor a falar com Acaz, dizendo:
11 Ask thee a sign from the Lord thy God; ask it in the depth, or high up above.
11 Pede para ti ao Senhor teu Deus um sinal; pede-o, ou em baixo nas profundezas, ou em cima nas alturas.
12 But Achaz said, I will not ask, and I will not tempt the Lord.
12 Acaz, porém, disse: Não pedirei, nem tentarei ao Senhor.
13 And he said, Hear ye now, O house of David! Is it too little for you to weary men, that ye will weary also my God?
13 Então ele disse: Ouvi agora, ó casa de Davi: Pouco vos é afadigardes os homens, senão que também afadigareis ao meu Deus?
14 Therefore will the Lord himself give you a sign: behold, this young woman shall conceive, and bear a son, and she shall call his name Immanuel, God with us.
14 Portanto o mesmo Senhor vos dará um sinal: Eis que a virgem conceberá, e dará à luz um filho, e chamará o seu nome Emanuel.
15 Cream and honey shall he eat, so soon as he knoweth to refuse the evil, and to choose the good.
15 Manteiga e mel comerá, quando ele souber rejeitar o mal e escolher o bem.
16 For before yet the child shall know to refuse the evil, and to choose the good, shall be forsaken the land, of the kings of which thou feelest dread.
16 Na verdade, antes que este menino saiba rejeitar o mal e escolher o bem, a terra, de que te enfadas, será desamparada dos seus dois reis.
17 The Lord will bring over thee, and over thy people, and over thy fathers house, days that have not come, from the day that Ephraim withdrew from Judah,the king of Assyria.
17 Porém o Senhor fará vir sobre ti, e sobre o teu povo, e sobre a casa de teu pai, pelo rei da Assíria, dias tais, quais nunca vieram, desde o dia em que Efraim se separou de Judá.
18 And it shall come to pass on that day, that the Lord will call for the fly that is in the uttermost end of the streams of Egypt, and for the bee that is in the land of Assyria.
18 Porque há de acontecer que naquele dia assobiará o Senhor às moscas, que há no extremo dos rios do Egito, e às abelhas que estão na terra da Assíria;
19 And they shall come, and shall encamp, all of them, in the desolate valleys, and in the clefts of the rocks, and upon all thornhedges, and upon all bushes.
19 E todas elas virão, e pousarão nos vales desertos e nas fendas das rochas, e em todos os espinheiros e em todos os arbustos.
20 On the same day will the Lord shave with the razor that is hired, from among those on the other side of the river, with the king of Assyria, the head, and the hair of the feet: and also the beard shall it entirely remove.
20 Naquele mesmo dia rapará o Senhor com uma navalha alugada, que está além do rio, isto é, com o rei da Assíria, a cabeça e os cabelos dos pés; e até a barba totalmente tirará.
21 And it shall come to pass on that day, that a man shall nourish but one young cow, and two sheep;
21 E sucederá naquele dia que um homem criará uma novilha e duas ovelhas.
22 And it shall happen, that for the abundance of milk which they shall give he shall eat cream; for cream and honey shall eat every one that is left in the midst of the land.
22 E acontecerá que por causa da abundância do leite que elas hão de dar, comerá manteiga; e manteiga e mel comerá todo aquele que restar no meio da terra.
23 And it shall come to pass on that day, that every place, where there are now a thousand vines worth a thousand silver shekels, shall be,yea, this shall be given up to briers and thorns.
23 Sucederá também naquele dia que todo o lugar, em que houver mil vides, do valor de mil siclos de prata, será para as sarças e para os espinheiros.
24 With arrows and with bows shall men enter thither; because all the land shall become covered with briers and thorns.
24 Com arco e flecha se entrará ali, porque toda a terra será sarças e espinheiros.
25 And all mountains that are worked with the mattock, there shall not come thither the fear of briers and thorns: and they shall serve for the pasture of oxen, and for the treading of sheep.
25 E quanto a todos os montes, que costumavam cavar com enxadas, para ali não irás por causa do temor das sarças e dos espinheiros; porém servirão para se mandarem para lá os bois e para serem pisados pelas ovelhas.
