1 The doom of Egypt. Behold, the Lord rideth upon a swift cloud, and is coming to Egypt: and the idols of Egypt shall be moved because of his presence, and the heart of Egypt shall melt in its inward parts.
1 Sentença contra o Egito. Eis que o uma nuvem ligeira, vai indo para o Egito. Os ídolos do Egito estremecerão diante dele, e o coração dos egípcios se derreterá dentro deles.
2 And I will stir up Egyptians against Egyptians: and they shall fight every one against his brother, and every one against his fellow; city against city, kingdom against kingdom.
2 “Porque farei com que egípcios se levantem contra egípcios, e cada um lutará contra o seu irmão e cada um contra o seu próximo; cidade contra cidade, reino contra reino.
3 And the spirit of Egypt shall be emptied out in its inward parts, and its counsel will I frustrate; and they will inquire of the idols, and of the charmers, and of those that have familiar spirits, and of the wizards.
3 O espírito dos egípcios irá esmorecer dentro deles, e eu farei com que os planos deles fracassem. Eles consultarão os seus ídolos, encantadores, médiuns e feiticeiros.
4 And I will surrender the Egyptians into the hand of a cruel lord; and a rigorous king shall rule over them, saith the Lord, the Eternal of hosts.
4 Entregarei os egípcios nas mãos de um senhor cruel, e um rei feroz os dominará”, diz o Senhor, o
5 And the waters shall fail from the sea, and the river shall be wasted and dried up.
5 As águas do mar baixarão, e o rio Nilo se tornará seco e árido.
6 And the rivers shall become foul; and shallow and dried up shall become the deep streams: reeds and flags shall wither.
6 Os canais exalarão mau cheiro, e os braços do Nilo diminuirão até secar; as canas e os juncos murcharão.
7 The wellrooted plants by the stream, by the mouth of the stream, and every thing sown by the stream, shall dry up, be scattered by the wind, and be no more.
7 A relva que está junto ao Nilo, junto às suas margens, e tudo o que foi semeado junto dele secarão, serão levados pelo vento e desaparecerão.
8 The fishermen also shall lament, and all they that cast an angle into the stream shall mourn; and they that spread nets upon the face of the waters shall languish.
8 Os pescadores gemerão, e lamentarão todos os que lançam anzóis no rio; e os que estendem redes sobre as águas desfalecerão.
9 And ashamed shall be they that work in fine flax, and they that weave white cloth.
9 Os que trabalham em linho fino e os que tecem pano de algodão ficarão decepcionados.
10 And its foundations shall be beaten down, all that build sluices shall be grieved in soul.
10 Os seus homens importantes serão esmagados, e todos os que trabalham por salário andarão de alma entristecida.
11 Surely fools are the princes of Zoan, the wise of the counsellors of Pharaoh impart silly counsel: how can ye say unto Pharaoh, I am a son of the wise, a son of the ancient kings?
11 Na verdade, os príncipes de Zoã não têm juízo; os sábios conselheiros de Faraó dão conselhos estúpidos. Como vocês podem dizer ao Faraó: “Sou filho de sábios, filho de antigos reis?”
12 Where are they, these, thy wise men? that they may tell thee now, that they know what the Lord of hosts hath resolved on over Egypt.
12 Onde estão agora os seus sábios? Que eles agora lhe anunciem ou informem o que o determinou contra o Egito.
13 The princes of Zoan are become fools, deceived are the princes of Noph; and Egypt is led astray by the chiefs of its tribes.
13 Os príncipes de Zoã perderam o juízo, e os príncipes de Mênfis estão enganados; os que são a pedra de esquina das suas tribos estão levando o Egito a andar errante.
14 The Lord hath poured out in the midst thereof a spirit of perverseness: and they have led Egypt astray in all its work, as a drunkard reeleth astray in his vomit.
14 O Senhor derramou no coração deles um espírito de confusão; eles fizeram o Egito andar errante em toda a sua obra, como o bêbado quando escorrega no seu próprio vômito.
15 And there shall not be for Egypt successful work, which the head or tail, palmbranch or rush, may do.
15 Para o Egito, não há obra alguma que possa ser feita pela cabeça ou cauda, pela palma ou junco.
16 On that day shall Egypt be like the women: and it shall tremble and be in dread because of the waving of the hand of the Lord of hosts, which he waveth over it.
16 Naquele dia, os egípcios serão como mulheres: ficarão tremendo de medo quando se levantar a mão do Senhor dos Exércitos, que ele agitará contra eles.
17 And the land of Judah shall become unto Egypt a terror, every one that maketh mention thereof shall be in dread, because of the counsel of the Lord of hosts, which he hath resolved against it.
17 A terra de Judá será um espanto para o Egito; todo aquele que dela se lembrar ficará apavorado por causa da decisão que o Senhor dos Exércitos tomou contra eles.
18 On that day shall be five cities in the land of Egypt speaking the language of Canaan, and swearing by the Lord of hosts; "The city of destruction" shall one be called.
18 Naquele dia, haverá cinco cidades na terra do Egito que falarão a língua de Canaã e farão juramento ao Senhor dos Exércitos; uma delas se chamará Cidade do Sol.
19 On that day shall there be all altar to the Lord in the midst of the land of Egypt, and a pillar at its border to the Lord.
19 Naquele dia, o Senhor terá um altar no meio da terra do Egito, e na fronteira do país será levantada uma coluna em honra do Senhor .
20 And it shall be for a sign and for a testimony unto the Lord of hosts in the land of Egypt; for they shall cry unto the Lord because of the oppressors, and he will send them a helper, and a chief, and he shall deliver them.
20 Servirá de sinal e de testemunho ao Senhor dos Exércitos na terra do Egito. Quando eles clamarem ao Senhor por causa dos opressores, ele lhes enviará um salvador e defensor que os há de livrar.
21 And the Lord will be made known to the Egyptians, and the Egyptians shall know the Lord on that day, and will do service with sacrifice and oblation; yea, they will make vows unto the Lord and perform them.
21 O Senhor se dará a conhecer ao Egito, e os egípcios conhecerão o Senhor naquele dia. Eles o adorarão com sacrifícios e ofertas de cereais, e farão votos ao Senhor , e os cumprirão.
22 And the Lord will thus strike Egypt, striking and healing it: and they will return unto the Lord, and he will be entreated of them, and heal them.
22 O Senhor ferirá os egípcios; ele os ferirá, mas depois os curará. Eles se converterão ao Senhor , e ele lhes atenderá as orações e os curará.
23 On that day there shall be a highway out of Egypt to Asshur, and Asshur shall come into Egypt, and the Egyptians into Asshur, and the Egyptians shall serve with Asshur the Lord.
23 Naquele dia, haverá uma estrada do Egito até a Assíria. Os assírios irão ao Egito, e os egípcios irão à Assíria; e os egípcios adorarão com os assírios.
24 On that day shall Israel be the third with Egypt and with Asshur, a blessing in the midst of the earth.
24 Naquele dia, Israel será o terceiro com os egípcios e os assírios, uma bênção no meio da terra.
25 Whom the Lord of hosts will have blessed, saying, Blessed be my people Egypt, and Asshur the work of my hands, and my heritage Israel.
25 O Senhor dos Exércitos os abençoará, dizendo: “Bendito seja o Egito, meu povo! Bendita seja a Assíria, obra de minhas mãos. E bendito seja Israel, minha herança.”
