1 And he heard the words of Laban’s sons, saying, Jacob hath taken away all that was our father’s, and of that which was our father’s hath he gotten all this wealth.
1 E ele ouviu as palavras dos filhos de Labão, dizendo: Jacó tomou tudo que era de nosso pai; e do que era do nosso pai ele obteve toda a sua glória.
2 And Jacob beheld the countenance of Laban, and, behold, it was not toward him as before.
2 E Jacó viu o semblante de Labão, e eis que não era para com ele como antes.
3 And the Lord said unto Jacob, Return unto the land of thy fathers, and to thy birthplace; and I will be with thee.
3 E o SENHOR disse a Jacó: Volta à terra de teus pais, e à tua parentela, e eu serei contigo.
4 And Jacob sent and called Rachel and Leah to the field unto his flock.
4 E Jacó enviou e chamou Raquel e Lia para o campo para o seu rebanho,
5 And he said unto them, I see your father’s countenance, that it is not toward me as before; but the God of my father hath been with me.
5 e lhes disse: Eu vejo o semblante do vosso pai, que não é para comigo como antes, mas o Deus de meu pai tem estado comigo.
6 And ye know well that with all my power I have served your father.
6 E vós sabeis que, com todas as minhas forças eu tenho servido a vosso pai.
7 And your father hath deceived me, and changed my wages ten times: but God suffered him not to do me evil.
7 E vosso pai me enganou, e mudou meu salário dez vezes; Deus, porém, não lhe permitiu ferir-me.
8 If he said thus, The speckled shall be thy wages: then bore all the flocks speckled: and if he said thus, The ring–streaked shall be thy reward; then bore all the flocks ring–streaked.
8 Se ele dizia: Os salpicados serão teu salário, então todo o rebanho dava crias salpicadas. E se ele dizia: Os listrados serão teu salário, então todo o rebanho dava crias listradas.
9 Thus God took away the cattle of your father, and gave them to me.
9 Então Deus tomou o rebanho de vosso pai, e o tem dado a mim.
10 And it came to pass at the time that the flocks conceived, that I lifted up my eyes, and saw in a dream, and, behold, the rams which leaped upon the flocks were ring–streaked, speckled, and grizzled.
10 E aconteceu nesse tempo que o rebanho deu cria, eu levantei meus olhos, e vi em um sonho, e eis que os carneiros que montavam sobre o rebanho eram listrados, salpicados e malhados.
11 And an angel of God spoke unto me in the dream, Jacob: and I said, Here am I.
11 E o anjo de Deus falou comigo em um sonho, dizendo: Jacó; e eu disse: Aqui estou.
12 And he said, Lift up now thy eyes and see, all the rams which leap upon the flocks are ring–streaked, speckled, and grizzled; for I have seen all that Laban doth unto thee.
12 E ele disse: Levanta teus olhos agora e vê; todos os carneiros que montam sobre o rebanho são listrados, salpicados e malhados; pois eu tenho visto tudo o que Labão faz contigo.
13 I am the God of Beth–el, where thou anointedst a pillar, where thou madest unto me a vow: now arise, get thee out from this land, and return unto the land of thy birth.
13 Eu sou o Deus de Betel, onde tu ungiste o pilar, e onde juraste um juramento para mim. Agora, levanta-te, vai-te desta terra e volta à terra de tua parentela.
14 And Rachel and Leah answered and said unto him, Is there yet any portion or inheritance for us in our father’s house?
14 E Raquel e Lia responderam e lhe disseram: Ainda há alguma porção de herança para nós na casa de nosso pai?
15 Were we not counted of him as strangers? for he hath sold us; and he hath quite consumed also our money.
15 Não somos por ele consideradas como estrangeiras? Pois ele nos vendeu, e devorou também o nosso dinheiro.
16 For all the riches which God hath taken from our father, that is ours, and our children’s; now then, whatsoever God hath said unto thee, do.
16 Porque toda a riqueza que Deus tomou de nosso pai é nossa, e de nossos filhos. Agora, então, tudo quanto Deus te disse, faze-o.
17 Then Jacob rose up, and set his sons and his wives upon camels;
17 Então, Jacó se levantou, e pôs seus filhos e mulheres sobre camelos,
18 And he led away all his cattle, and all his goods which he had gotten, the cattle of his acquiring, which he had gotten in Padan–aram, to go to Isaac his father into the land of Canaan.
18 e ele levou todo o seu rebanho, e todos os seus bens que havia obtido, o rebanho de sua possessão, que havia obtido em Padã-Arã, para ir a Isaque, seu pai, na terra de Canaã.
19 And Laban was gone to shear his sheep; and Rachel stole the images that were her father’s.
19 E Labão foi tosquiar suas ovelhas; e Raquel havia furtado as imagens que eram de seu pai.
20 And Jacob stole away unawares to Laban the Syrian, by not letting him know that he was going to flee.
20 E Jacó ocultou a Labão, o sírio, a notícia de sua partida.
21 And he fled with all that he had; and he rose up, and passed over the river, and set his face toward the mount Gilead.
21 Assim ele fugiu com tudo o que tinha, e se levantou e cruzou o rio, e pôs a sua face em direção ao monte Gileade.
22 And it was told to Laban on the third day that Jacob was fled.
22 E ao terceiro dia, foi declarado a Labão que Jacó havia fugido.
23 And he took his brethren with him, and pursued after him a seven days’ journey; and he overtook him at the mount of Gilead.
23 E ele tomou seus irmãos consigo, e o perseguiu numa jornada de sete dias; e eles o alcançaram no monte Gileade.
24 And God came to Laban, the Syrian, in a dream of the night, and said unto him, Take thou heed that thou speak not to Jacob either good or bad.
24 E Deus veio a Labão, o sírio, em um sonho à noite, e lhe disse: Fique atento para que tu não fales a Jacó nem bem nem mal.
25 Then Laban overtook Jacob; now Jacob had pitched his tent on the mount, and Laban with his brethren pitched on the mount of Gilead.
25 Então Labão alcançou Jacó. Ora, Jacó havia armado sua tenda no monte, e Labão com seus irmãos armaram no monte Gileade.
26 And Laban said to Jacob, What hast thou done, that thou hast stolen away unawares to me, and led away my daughters, as captives taken with the sword.
26 E Labão disse a Jacó: O que fizeste, para fugir às escondidas e conduzir minhas filhas, como cativas à espada?
27 Wherefore didst thou flee away secretly, and steal away from me; and why didst thou not tell me, that I might have sent thee away with mirth, and with songs, with tabret, and with harp?
27 Por que tu fugiste em segredo e escondeste de mim, e não me contaste, para que eu pudesse te enviar com alegria, e com cânticos, com tamboril, e com harpas?
28 And why hast thou not suffered me to kiss my sons and my daughters? now thou hast acted foolishly in so doing.
28 E não me permitiste beijar meus filhos e minhas filhas? Agiste como um insensato ao fazer assim.
29 It is in the power of my hand to do you hurt; but the God of your father spoke unto me yesternight, saying, Take thou heed that thou speak not to Jacob either good or bad.
29 Está no poder da minha mão te fazer mal; mas o Deus de teu pai falou comigo ontem à noite, dizendo: Fique atento para que tu não fales a Jacó nem bem nem mal.
30 And now, thou wouldst needs be gone, because thou greatly longedst after thy father’s house; yet wherefore hast thou stolen my gods.
30 E agora, se decidiste ir-te pelo muito que anelas pela casa de teu pai, contudo por que tu furtaste meus deuses?
31 And Jacob answered and said to Laban, Because I was afraid, for I said, Peradventure thou wouldst take by force thy daughters from me.
31 E Jacó respondeu e disse a Labão: Porque eu tive medo. Pois eu disse: E se porventura tomasses à força tuas filhas de mim?
32 With whomsoever thou findest thy gods, let him not live; before our brethren seek out thou what is thine with me, and take it to thee; but Jacob knew not that Rachel had stolen them.
32 Com quem encontrares os teus deuses, que este não viva. Diante de nossos irmãos, discerne o que é teu comigo, e toma-o a ti. Porque Jacó não sabia que Raquel os tinha furtado.
33 And Laban went into the tent of Jacob, and into the tent of Leah, and into the tent of the two maid–servants; but he found nothing; he then went out of the tent of Leah, and entered into Rachel’s tent.
33 E Labão foi à tenda de Jacó, e à tenda de Lia, e às tendas das duas servas, mas não os encontrou. Então ele saiu da tenda de Lia, e entrou na tenda de Raquel.
34 Now Rachel had taken the images, and put them in the saddle–cushion of the camel, and sat upon them; and Laban searched all the tent, and found nothing.
34 Ora, Raquel havia tomado as imagens, e as tinha colocado na albarda de um camelo, e estava sentada sobre elas. E Labão buscou em toda a tenda, mas não as encontrou.
35 And she said to her father, Let it not displease my lord that I cannot rise up before thee; for the custom of women is upon me; and thus he searched, but found not the images.
35 E ela disse a seu pai: Não se aborreça o meu senhor que não posso levantar-me perante ti, pois o costume das mulheres está sobre mim. E ele procurou, mas não encontrou as imagens.
36 Now Jacob became wroth, and quarrelled with Laban; and Jacob answered and said to Laban, What is my trespass? what is my sin, that thou hast so hotly pursued after me?
36 E Jacó irou-se e contendeu com Labão. E Jacó respondeu e disse a Labão: Qual é a minha transgressão? Qual é o meu pecado, que tão furiosamente me tens perseguido?
37 Although thou hast searched all my goods, what hast thou found of all the articles of thy household? set it here before my brethren and thy brethren, that they may judge between us both.
37 Enquanto buscaste em todas as minhas coisas, o que achaste de todas as coisas da tua casa? Põe-no aqui diante de meus irmãos e teus irmãos, para que eles possam julgar entre nós dois.
38 These twenty years have I been with thee: thy ewes and thy she–goats have not cast their young; and the rams of thy flock have I not eaten.
38 Estes vinte anos eu tenho estado contigo; tuas ovelhas e tuas cabras não abortaram suas crias, e eu não comi os carneiros do teu rebanho.
39 That which was torn of beasts I brought not unto thee; I had to bear the loss of it, of my hand didst thou require it, whatever was stolen by day, or stolen by night.
39 O que foi despedaçado pelos animais eu não trouxe a ti; eu carreguei a perda disso. Da minha mão o requerias, se furtado de dia ou furtado de noite.
40 Where I was in the day the heat consumed me, and the frost by night; and my sleep departed from my eyes.
40 Assim fui eu. Durante o dia a seca me consumia, e a geada de noite, e o meu sono fugia dos meus olhos.
41 These twenty years have I been in thy house; I have served thee fourteen years for thy two daughters, and six years for thy flocks: and thou hast changed my wages ten times.
41 Assim eu estive vinte anos na tua casa. Eu te servi catorze anos pelas tuas filhas, e seis anos pelo teu rebanho, e tu mudaste o meu salário dez vezes.
42 Except the God of my father, the God of Abraham, and the Fear of Isaac, had been with me, surely thou hadst now sent me away empty; my affliction and the labor of my hands God hath seen, and decided yesternight.
42 Se o Deus de meu pai, o Deus de Abraão, e o temor de Isaque não estivesse comigo, certamente tu me terias enviado embora vazio. Deus viu a minha aflição e o trabalho das minhas mãos, e te repreendeu ontem à noite.
43 And Laban answered and said unto Jacob, The daughters are my daughters, and the children are my children, and the flocks are my flocks, and all that thou seest is mine; but as to my daughters, what can I do unto them this day, or unto their children whom they have born?
43 E Labão respondeu e disse a Jacó: Estas filhas são minhas filhas, e estes filhos são meus filhos, e esse rebanho é meu rebanho, e tudo o que tu vês é meu. E o que eu posso fazer hoje a essas minhas filhas, ou aos seus filhos que elas geraram?
44 And now, come thou, let us make a covenant, I and thou; and let it be for a witness between me and thee.
44 Portanto, vem agora e façamos um pacto, eu e tu, e que isto seja por testemunha entre mim e ti.
45 And Jacob took a stone, and set it up for a pillar.
45 E Jacó tomou uma pedra, e a colocou por pilar.
46 And Jacob said unto his brethren, Gather stones; and they took stones, and made a heap; and they ate there upon the heap.
46 E Jacó disse a seus irmãos: Ajuntai pedras; e eles tomaram pedras e fizeram um montão; e eles comeram ali sobre o montão.
47 And Laban called it Yegar–sahadutha; but Jacob called it Galed.
47 E Labão o chamou Jegar-Saaduta, mas Jacó o chamou Galeede.
48 And Laban said, This heap is a witness between me and thee this day; therefore called he its name Galed;
48 E Labão disse: Este montão é uma testemunha entre mim e ti neste dia. Por isso, foi o nome dele chamado Galeede,
49 And Mitzpah; for he said, The Lord shall watch between me and thee, when we are absent one from the other;
49 e Mispá, pois ele disse: O SENHOR observe entre mim e ti, quando nos apartarmos um do outro.
50 If thou shouldst afflict my daughters, or if thou shouldst take other wives besides my daughters, when there is no man with us: see, God is witness between me and thee.
50 Se tu afligires minhas filhas, ou se tomares outras mulheres além das minhas filhas, nenhum homem está conosco. Vê, Deus é testemunha entre mim e ti.
51 And Laban said to Jacob, Behold this heap, and behold this pillar, which I have cast up between me and thee;
51 E Labão disse a Jacó: Vê este montão, e olha para este pilar, que tenho erigido entre mim e ti.
52 Witness be this heap and witness be this pillar, that I will not pass by this heap, and that thou shalt not pass unto me by this heap and this pillar, for evil.
52 Este montão seja testemunha, e este pilar seja testemunha, de que eu não passarei deste montão a ti, e que tu não passarás deste montão e deste pilar até mim, para o mal.
53 The God of Abraham and the God of Nachor shall judge between us, the God of their father; but Jacob swore by the Fear of his father Isaac.
53 O Deus de Abraão, e o Deus de Naor, o Deus do seu pai julgue entre nós. E Jacó jurou pelo temor do seu pai Isaque.
54 Then Jacob slew some cattle upon the mount, and called his brethren to eat bread; and they did eat bread, and tarried all night on the mount.
54 Então, Jacó ofereceu sacrifício sobre o monte, e chamou seus irmãos para comer pão, e eles comeram pão, e ficaram a noite toda no monte.
55 And early in the morning Laban rose up, and kissed his sons and his daughters and blessed them; and Laban departed, and returned unto his own place.
55 E cedo de manhã Labão levantou-se, e beijou seus filhos e suas filhas, e os abençoou, e Labão partiu, e retornou ao seu lugar.
