Ezequiel 18

1 And the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,
1 E veio a mim a palavra do Senhor , dizendo:
2 What mean ye, that ye use this proverb in the country of Israel, saying, The fathers have eaten sour grapes, and the teeth of the children are set on edge?
2 Que tendes vós, vós que dizeis esta parábola acerca da terra de Israel, dizendo: Os pais comeram uvas verdes, e os dentes dos filhos se embotaram?
3 As I live, saith the Lord Eternal, ye shall not have any more to use this proverb in Israel.
3 Vivo eu, diz o Senhor Jeová , que nunca mais direis este provérbio em Israel.
4 Behold, all the souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the sonmine are they: the soul which sinneth that alone shall die.
4 Eis que todas as almas são minhas; como a alma do pai, também a alma do filho é minha; a alma que pecar, essa morrerá.
5 But if a man be righteous, and execute justice and righteousness;
5 Sendo, pois, o homem justo e fazendo juízo e justiça,
6 Upon the mountains he eateth not, and his eyes he lifteth not up to the idols of the house of Israel, and the wife of his neighbor he defileth not, and unto a woman in her separation he cometh not near;
6 não comendo sobre os montes, nem levantando os olhos para os ídolos da casa de Israel, nem contaminando a mulher do seu próximo, nem se chegando à mulher na sua separação;
7 And he overreacheth no man, he restoreth his pledge for a debt, a robbery he doth not commit, his bread he giveth to the hungry, and the naked he covereth with a garment;
7 não oprimindo a ninguém, tornando ao devedor o seu penhor, não roubando, dando o seu pão ao faminto, cobrindo ao nu com veste;
8 Upon interest he giveth not forth, and increase he doth not take, from wrong he withdraweth his hand, true judgment he executeth between man and man;
8 não dando o seu dinheiro à usura, não recebendo demais, desviando a sua mão da injustiça, fazendo verdadeiro juízo entre homem e homem;
9 In my statutes he walketh steadfastly, and my ordinances he keepeth to deal truly: he is righteous, he shall surely live, saith the Lord Eternal.
9 andando nos meus estatutos e guardando os meus juízos, para proceder segundo a verdade, o tal justo certamente viverá, diz o Senhor Jeová .
10 If he now beget a dissolute son that sheddeth blood and doth to his brother any one of thee things;
10 E, se ele gerar um filho ladrão, derramador de sangue, que fizer a seu irmão qualquer destas coisas
11 And he is one that doth not any of these duties; but eateth even upon the mountains, and defileth the wife of his neighbor;
11 e não cumprir todos aqueles deveres, mas, antes, comer sobre os montes, e contaminar a mulher de seu próximo,
12 The poor and needy he overreacheth, he is guilty of robberies, the pledge he restoreth not, and to the idols he lifteth up his eyes, abominations he committeth:
12 e oprimir ao aflito e necessitado, e praticar roubos, e não tornar o penhor, e levantar os olhos para os ídolos, e cometer abominação,
13 Upon interest he giveth forth, and increase he taketh: and he should live? he shall not live; all these abominations hath he done, he shall surely die; his blood shall be upon him.
13 e emprestar com usura, e receber de mais, porventura viverá? Não viverá! Todas estas abominações ele fez, certamente morrerá; o seu sangue será sobre ele.
14 And behold, if he beget a son, who seeth all the sins of his father which he hath done, and he considereth, and doth not the like of them;
14 E eis que, se ele gerar um filho que veja todos os pecados que seu pai fez, e, vendo- os não cometer coisas semelhantes,
15 Upon the mountains he eateth not, and his eyes he lifteth not up to the idols of the house of Israel, the wife of his neighbor he defileth not;
15 não comer sobre os montes, e não levantar os olhos para os ídolos da casa de Israel, e não contaminar a mulher de seu próximo,
16 And he overreacheth no man, a pledge he withholdeth not, and of a robbery he is never guilty, his bread he giveth to the hungry, and the naked he covereth with a garment;
16 e não oprimir a ninguém, e não retiver o penhor, e não roubar, e der o seu pão ao faminto, e cobrir ao nu com veste,
17 From the poor he withdraweth his hand, interest and increase he taketh not: my ordinances he executeth; in my statutes he walketh:he shall not die for the iniquity of his father, he shall surely live.
17 e desviar do aflito a mão, e não receber usura em demasia, e fizer os meus juízos, e andar nos meus estatutos, o tal não morrerá pela maldade de seu pai; certamente viverá.
18 His father, because he unjustly withheld wages, was guilty of robbery on his brother, and did that which is not good in the midst of his people,and lo, he died through his iniquity.
18 Seu pai, porque fez opressão, e roubou os bens do irmão, e fez o que não era bom no meio de seu povo, eis que ele morrerá pela sua maldade.
19 Yet say ye, Why doth not the son bear part of the iniquity of the father? when the son hath executed justice and righteousness, all my statutes hath he kept, and hath done them: he shall surely live.
19 Mas dizeis: Por que não levará o filho a maldade do pai? Porque o filho fez juízo e justiça, e guardou todos os meus estatutos, e os praticou, por isso, certamente viverá.
20 The soul that sinneth, she alone shall die; the son shall not help to bear the iniquity of the father and the father shall not help to bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him.
20 A alma que pecar, essa morrerá; o filho não levará a maldade do pai, nem o pai levará a maldade do filho; a justiça do justo ficará sobre ele, e a impiedade do ímpio cairá sobre ele.
21 And the wicked, when he turneth away from all his sins that he hath committed, and keepeth all my statutes, and executeth justice and righteousness, shall surely live, he shall not die.
21 Mas, se o ímpio se converter de todos os seus pecados que cometeu, e guardar todos os meus estatutos, e fizer juízo e justiça, certamente viverá; não morrerá.
22 All his transgressions which he hath committed shall not be remembered unto him: through his righteousness which he hath done shall he live.
22 De todas as suas transgressões que cometeu não haverá lembrança contra ele; pela sua justiça que praticou, viverá.
23 Have I then the least pleasure in the death of the wicked? saith the Lord Eternal: and not in his turning away from his ways, that he may live?
23 Desejaria eu, de qualquer maneira, a morte do ímpio? Diz o Senhor Jeová ; não desejo, antes, que se converta dos seus caminhos e viva?
24 But when the righteous turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth wrong, and doth according to all the abominations that the wicked man doeth, shall he live? all his righteousness that he hath done shall not he remembered: through his trespass which he hath committed, and through his sin that he hath done,through them shall he die.
24 Mas, desviando-se o justo da sua justiça, e cometendo a iniquidade, e fazendo conforme todas as abominações que faz o ímpio, porventura viverá? De todas as suas justiças que tiver feito não se fará memória; na sua transgressão com que transgrediu, e no seu pecado com que pecou, neles morrerá.
25 Yet ye say, The way of the Lord is not equitable: hear now, O house of Israel, Is not my way equitable? is it not your ways which are not equitable?
25 Dizeis, porém: O caminho do Senhor não é direito. Ouvi, agora, ó casa de Israel: Não é o meu caminho direito? Não são os vossos caminhos torcidos?
26 When a righteous man turneth away from his righteousness, and doth wrong, and dieth therefore: through his wrong which he hath done must he die.
26 Desviando-se o justo da sua justiça e cometendo iniquidade, morrerá por ela; na sua iniquidade que cometeu, morrerá.
27 Again, when the wicked turneth away from his wickedness which he hath committed, and executeth justice and righteousness: he shall indeed preserve his soul alive.
27 Mas, convertendo-se o ímpio da sua impiedade que cometeu e praticando o juízo e a justiça, conservará este a sua alma em vida.
28 Because he hath considered, and turned away from all his transgressions which he had committed: he shall surely live, he shall not die.
28 Pois quem reconsidera e se converte de todas as suas transgressões que cometeu, certamente viverá, não morrerá.
29 Yet say the house of Israel, The way of the Lord is not equitable: are not my ways equitable, O house of Israel? is it not your ways which are not equitable?
29 Contudo, diz a casa de Israel: O caminho do Senhor não é direito. Não são os meus caminhos direitos, ó casa de Israel? E não são os vossos caminhos torcidos?
30 Therefore will I judge you, every one according to his ways, O house of Israel, saith the Lord Eternal: return ye, and cause others to return from all your transgressions, that iniquity may not become your stumblingblock.
30 Portanto, eu vos julgarei, a cada um conforme os seus caminhos, ó casa de Israel, diz o Senhor Jeová ; vinde e convertei-vos de todas as vossas transgressões, e a iniquidade não vos servirá de tropeço.
31 Cast away from yourselves all your transgressions, whereby ye have transgressed; and make yourselves a new heart and a new spirit; for why will ye die, O house of Israel?
31 Lançai de vós todas as vossas transgressões com que transgredistes e criai em vós um coração novo e um espírito novo; pois por que razão morreríeis, ó casa de Israel?
32 For I have no pleasure in the death of him that deserveth to die, saith the Lord Eternal: therefore convert yourselves, and live.
32 Porque não tomo prazer na morte do que morre, diz o Senhor Jeová ; convertei-vos, pois, e vivei.
