1 Then sang Moses and the children of Israel this song unto the Lord, and thus did they say, I will sing unto the Lord, for he hath triumphed gloriously: the horse and his rider hath he thrown into the sea.
1 Então Moisés e os israelitas entoaram este cântico ao Senhor: "Cantarei ao Senhor, pois triunfou gloriosamente. Lançou ao mar o cavalo e o seu cavaleiro!
2 My strength and song is the Lord, and he is become my salvation: he is my God, and I will declare his praise, the God of my father, and I will exalt him.
2 O Senhor é a minha força e a minha canção; ele é a minha salvação! Ele é o meu Deus e eu o louvarei, é o Deus de meu pai, e eu o exaltarei!
3 The Eternal is the Lord of war; the Eternal is his name.
3 O Senhor é guerreiro, o seu nome é Senhor.
4 The chariots of Pharaoh and his host hath he hurled into the sea; and the chosen of his captains are sunk in the Red Sea.
4 Ele lançou ao mar os carros de guerra e o exército do faraó. Os seus melhores oficiais afogaram-se no mar Vermelho.
5 The depths have covered them; they went down to the bottom as a stone.
5 Águas profundas os encobriram; como pedra desceram ao fundo.
6 Thy right hand, O Lord, is become glorious in power; thy right hand, O Lord, hath dashed in pieces the enemy.
6 Senhor, a tua mão direita foi majestosa em poder. Senhor, a tua mão direita despedaçou o inimigo.
7 And in the greatness of thy excellency hast thou overthrown those that rose up against thee; thou didst send forth thy wrath, it consumed them as stubble.
7 Em teu triunfo grandioso, derrubaste os teus adversários. Enviaste o teu furor flamejante, que os consumiu como palha.
8 And with the breath of thy nostrils the waters were heaped up together, the floods stood upright as a wall; congealed were the depths in the heart of the sea.
8 Pelo forte sopro das tuas narinas as águas se amontoaram. As águas turbulentas firmaram-se como muralha; as águas profundas congelaram-se no coração do mar.
9 The enemy said, I will pursue, I will overtake, I will divide the spoil; my desire shall be satisfied upon them; I will draw my sword, my hand shall destroy them.
9 O inimigo se gloriava: ‘Eu os perseguirei e os alcançarei, dividirei o despojo e os devorarei. Com a espada na mão, eu os destruirei. ’
10 Thou didst blow with thy wind, the sea covered them: they sunk as lead in mighty waters.
10 Mas enviaste o teu sopro, e o mar os encobriu. Afundaram como chumbo nas águas volumosas.
11 Who is like unto thee, O Lord, among the mighty? who is like unto thee, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders?
11 Quem entre os deuses é semelhante a ti, Senhor? Quem é semelhante a ti? Majestoso em santidade, terrível em feitos gloriosos, autor de maravilhas?
12 Thou didst stretch out thy right hand, the earth swallowed them.
12 Estendes a tua mão direita e a terra os engole.
13 Thou leadest forth in thy kindness the people thou hast redeemed; thou guidest it in thy strength unto the habitation of thy holiness.
13 Com o teu amor conduzes o povo que resgataste; com a tua força tu o levas à tua santa habitação.
14 Nations hear it and tremble: sorrow seizeth the inhabitants of Palestine.
14 As nações ouvem e estremecem; angústia se apodera do povo da Filístia.
15 Then were troubled the dukes of Edom; the mighty men of Moab, trembling seizeth them; fainthearted become all the inhabitants of Canaan. l
15 Os chefes de Edom ficam aterrorizados, os poderosos de Moabe são tomados de tremor, o povo de Canaã esmorece;
16 Fear and dread shall fall upon them; by the greatness of thy arm they shall be still as a stone: till thy people pass over, O Lord, till this people pass over, which thou hast purchased.
16 terror e medo caem sobre eles; pelo poder do teu braço ficam paralisados como pedra, até que passe o teu povo, ó Senhor, até que passe o povo que tu compraste.
17 Thou wilt bring them, and plant them on the mountain of thy inheritance, the place, O Lord, which thou hast wrought for thy residence, the sanctuary, O Lord, which thy hands have established.
17 Tu o farás entrar e o plantarás no monte da tua herança, no lugar, ó Senhor, que fizeste para a tua habitação, no santuário, ó Senhor, que as tuas mãos estabeleceram.
18 The Lord will reign for ever and ever.
18 O Senhor reinará eternamente".
19 For the horse of Pharaoh went in with his chariots and with his horsemen into the sea, and the Lord brought again upon them the waters of the sea; but the children of Israel went on dry ground through the midst of the sea.
19 Quando os cavalos, os carros de guerra e os cavaleiros do faraó entraram no mar, o Senhor fez que as águas do mar se voltassem sobre eles, mas os israelitas atravessaram o mar pisando em terra seca.
20 Then took Miriam the prophetess, the sister of Aaron, a timbrel in her hand; and all the women went out after her with timbrels and with dances.
20 Então Miriã, a profetisa, irmã de Arão, pegou um tamborim e todas as mulheres a seguiram, tocando tamborins e dançando.
21 And Miriam began her song to them, Sing ye to the Lord, for he hath triumphed gloriously: the horse and his rider hath he thrown into the sea.
21 E Miriã lhes respondia, cantando: "Cantem ao Senhor, pois triunfou gloriosamente. Lançou ao mar o cavalo e o seu cavaleiro".
22 And Moses caused Israel to depart from the Red Sea, and they went out into the wilderness of Shur; and they went three days in the wilderness, and found no water.
22 Depois Moisés conduziu Israel desde o mar Vermelho até o deserto de Sur. Durante três dias caminharam no deserto sem encontrar água.
23 And they came to Marah; but they could not drink the waters of Marah, for they were bitter; therefore they called its name Marah.
23 Então chegaram a Mara, mas não puderam beber das águas de lá porque eram amargas. Esta é a razão porque o lugar chama-se Mara.
24 And the people murmured against Moses, saying, What shall we drink?
24 E o povo começou a reclamar a Moisés, dizendo: "Que beberemos? "
25 And he cried unto the Lord; and the Lord showed him a tree, which he cast into the waters, and the waters were made sweet: there he made for them a statute and an ordinance, and there he proved them.
25 Moisés clamou ao Senhor, e este lhe indicou um arbusto. Ele o lançou na água, e esta se tornou boa. Em Mara o Senhor lhes deu leis e ordenanças, e os colocou à prova,
26 And he said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the Lord thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his eyes, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and wilt keep all his statutes: I will put none of those diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians; for I the Lord am thy physician.
26 dizendo-lhes: "Se vocês derem atenção ao Senhor, ao seu Deus e fizerem o que ele aprova, se derem ouvidos aos seus mandamentos e obedecerem a todos os seus decretos, não trarei sobre vocês nenhuma das doenças que eu trouxe sobre os egípcios, pois eu sou o Senhor que os cura".
27 And they came to Elim, and there were twelve wells of water, and seventy palmtrees: and they encamped there by the water.
27 Depois chegaram a Elim, onde havia doze fontes de água e setenta palmeiras; e acamparam junto àquelas águas.
