Leeser Old Testament (LEESER) vs BKJ
1 Then prophesied Haggai the prophet, and Zechariah the son of Iddo, the prophets, unto the Jews that were in Judah and Jerusalem, in the name of the God of Israel, concerning them.
1 Então, os profetas, Ageu e Zacarias, filho de Ido, profetizaram aos judeus que estavam em Judá e em Jerusalém; em nome do Deus de Israel, lhes profetizaram.
2 Then rose up Zerubbabel the son of Shealthiel, and Jeshua the son of Jozadak, and began to build the house of God which is in Jerusalem; and with them were the prophets of God helping them.
2 Então, levantou-se Zorobabel, o filho de Sealtiel, e Jesuá, o filho de Jozadaque, e começaram a edificar a casa de Deus a qual está em Jerusalém; e com eles estavam os profetas de Deus lhes ajudando.
3 At this same time came to them Thathnai, the governor on this side of the river, and Shetharbozenai, and their companions, and thus they said unto them, "Who hath given you an order to build this house, and to complete these walls?"
3 Ao mesmo tempo vieram até eles, Tatenai, governador deste lado do rio, e Setar-Bozenai, e os seus companheiros, e assim lhes disseram: Quem vos ordenou a edificar esta casa, e a construir esta muralha?
4 Then said we unto them after this manner, what are the names of the men that erect this building.
4 Então nós lhes dissemos desta forma: Quais são os nomes dos homens que fazem esta edificação?
5 But the eye of their God was upon the elders of the Jews, so that they did not stop them, till the matter came to Darius; and they then returned an answer by letter concerning this.
5 Porém os olhos de Deus estavam sobre os anciãos dos judeus, para que eles não pudessem fazê-los cessar, até que a questão viesse até Dario; e, então, eles retornaram a resposta por carta acerca desta questão.
6 A copy of the letter which Thathnai, the governor on this side of the river, and Shetharbozenai, and his companions, the Apharsachites, who were on this side of the river, sent unto king Darius.
6 A cópia da carta que Tatenai, governador deste lado do rio, e Setar-Bozenai, e os seus companheiros, os afarsaquitas, os quais estavam deste lado do rio, enviaram ao rei Dario;
7 They sent a report unto him, and thus was it written therein: Unto king Darius be all peace.
7 enviaram-lhe uma carta, na qual estava escrito assim: Para Dario, o rei, toda a paz.
8 Be it known unto the king, that we went into the province of Judah, to the house of the great God, which they are building with heavy stones, and timber is laid in the walls, and this work is urged with speed, and it prospereth in their hands.
8 Seja notório ao rei, que nós fomos à província da Judeia, à casa do grande Deus, a qual está edificada com grandes pedras, e a madeira está lançada nas paredes, e esta obra avança com rapidez, e prospera nas suas mãos.
9 Then asked we these elders, and after this manner said we unto them, Who hath given you the order to build this house, and to complete these walls?
9 Então, nós perguntamos àqueles anciãos, e assim lhes dissemos: Quem vos ordenou a edificar esta casa, e a levantar estas paredes?
10 Also their names did we ask of them, to let thee know them, that we might write down the names of the men that are at their head.
10 Nós também perguntamos os seus nomes, para certificar-te, para que pudéssemos escrever os nomes dos homens que eram os seus chefes.
11 And in this manner did they return us answer, saying, We are the servants of the God of heaven and earth, and we build the house that was built before this many years, and a great king of Israel built and completed it.
11 E assim eles retornaram com a resposta, dizendo: Nós somos os servos do Deus do céu e terra, e edificamos a casa que há muitos anos foi edificada, a qual um grande rei de Israel edificou e estabeleceu.
12 But since our fathers had provoked the God of heaven unto wrath, he gave them up into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, the Chaldean, and he destroyed this house, and carried the people as exiles into Babylon.
12 Mas depois que nossos pais provocaram à ira o Deus do céu, ele os deu na mão de Nabucodonosor, o rei de Babilônia, o caldeu, que destruiu esta casa, e levou o povo consigo para Babilônia.
13 However, in the first year of Cyrus the king of Babylon, king Cyrus gave an order to build this house of God.
13 Todavia, no primeiro ano de Ciro, o rei de Babilônia, o mesmo rei Ciro editou um decreto para edificar esta casa de Deus.
14 And also the vessels of gold and silver of the house of God, which Nebuchadnezzar had taken out of the temple that was in Jerusalem, and brought into the temple of Babylon, these did king Cyrus take out of the temple of Babylon, and gave them unto one, Sheshbazzar by name, whom he had appointed as governor;
14 E também os vasos de ouro e prata da casa de Deus, os quais Nabucodonosor retirou do templo que estava em Jerusalém, e os trouxe para dentro do templo de Babilônia, o rei Ciro os retirou do templo de Babilônia, e eles foram entregues a um cujo nome era Sesbazar, ao qual ele havia feito governador;
15 And he said unto him, Take these vessels, go, carry them into the temple which is in Jerusalem, and let the house of God be built on its site.
15 e disse-lhe: Toma estes vasos, vai, leva-os para dentro do templo que está em Jerusalém, e deixa com que a casa de Deus seja edificada no seu lugar.
16 Then came this same Sheshbazzar, and laid the foundation of the house of God which is in Jerusalem; and from that time even until now they have been building it, but it is not yet finished.
16 Então veio o mesmo Sesbazar, e lançou os fundamentos da casa de Deus a qual está em Jerusalém; e desde aquele tempo até agora ela tem estado em edificação, e ainda não está acabada.
17 And now, if it seem good to the king, let search be made in the kings treasurehouse, which is there at Babylon, whether it be so, that an order was given by king Cyrus to build this house of God at Jerusalem, and let the king send to us his pleasure concerning this matter.
17 Agora, portanto, se parecer bom ao rei, que ali seja feita uma investigação na casa do tesouro do rei, que está em Babilônia, para ver se é verdade que foi feito um decreto da parte do rei Ciro, para edificar esta casa de Deus em Jerusalém, e sobre esta questão que o rei nos envie a sua consideração.
