1 In the seventeenth year of Pekach the son of Remalyahu, became Achaz, the son of Jotham the king of Judah, king.
1 No décimo sétimo ano do reinado de Peca, filho de Remalias, Acaz, filho de Jotão, rei de Judá, começou a reinar.
2 Twenty years old was Achaz when he became king, and sixteen years did he reign in Jerusalem; and he did not what is right in the eyes of the Lord his God, like David his father.
2 Acaz tinha vinte anos de idade quando começou a reinar e reinou dezesseis anos em Jerusalém. Não fez o que era reto aos olhos do Senhor , seu Deus, ao contrário de Davi, seu pai.
3 But he walked in the way of the kings of Israel, and even his son he caused to pass through the fire, after the abominable acts of the nations whom the Lord had driven out from before the children of Israel.
3 Andou no caminho dos reis de Israel e até queimou o seu filho como sacrifício, segundo as abominações dos gentios, que o Senhor havia expulsado de diante dos filhos de Israel.
4 And he sacrificed and burnt incense on the highplaces, and on the hills, and under every green tree.
4 Também sacrificou e queimou incenso nos lugares altos, nas colinas e debaixo de toda árvore frondosa.
5 Then came up Rezin the king of Syria and Pekach the son of Remalyahu the king of Israel to Jerusalem to war: and they besieged Achaz, but were not able to make an attack.
5 Então Rezim, rei da Síria, e Peca, filho de Remalias, rei de Israel, subiram a Jerusalém para lutar contra ela. Cercaram Acaz, mas não conseguiram derrotá-lo.
6 At that time did Rezin the king of Syria bring Elath back to Syria, and drove the Jews from Elath: and the Edomeans came to Elath and dwelt there, even until this day.
6 Naquele tempo, Rezim, rei da Síria, restituiu Elate à Síria e expulsou dela os homens de Judá. Os sírios foram para Elate e ficaram morando ali até o dia de hoje.
7 And Achaz then sent messengers to Tiglathpilesser the king of Assyria, saying, Thy servant and thy son am I: come up, and help me out of the hand of the king of Syria, and out of the hand of the king of Israel, who rise up against me.
7 Acaz enviou mensageiros a Tiglate-Pileser, rei da Assíria, dizendo: — Eu sou seu servo e seu filho. Venha me livrar do poder do rei da Síria e do poder do rei de Israel, que se levantam contra mim.
8 And Achaz took the silver and the gold that were found in the house of the Lord, and in the treasures of the kings house, and sent the same to the king of Assyria as a bribe.
8 Acaz pegou a prata e o ouro que havia na Casa do Senhor e nos tesouros do palácio real e mandou de presente ao rei da Assíria.
9 And the king of Assyria hearkened unto him; and the king of Assyria went up against Damascus, and captured it, and led the people of it away captive to Kir, and Rezin did he put to death.
9 O rei da Assíria lhe deu ouvidos, subiu contra Damasco, tomou-a, levou o povo para Quir e matou Rezim.
10 And King Achaz went to meet Tiglathpilesser the king of Assyria to Damascus, and he saw the altar that was at Damascus: and king Achaz then sent to Uriyah the priest the form of the altar, and its pattern, after all its workmanship.
10 Então o rei Acaz foi a Damasco para se encontrar com Tiglate-Pileser, rei da Assíria. Ao ver ali um altar, enviou ao sacerdote Urias o modelo do altar e a planta segundo a qual tinha sido feito.
11 And Uriyah the priest built the altar; in accordance with all that king Achaz had sent from Damascus, so did Uriyah the priest make it against the arrival of king Achaz from Damascus.
11 Urias, o sacerdote, edificou um altar segundo tudo o que o rei Acaz havia ordenado de Damasco; o sacerdote Urias fez isso antes que o rei Acaz viesse de Damasco.
12 And when the king came from Damascus, the king saw the altar; and the king approached to the altar and offered thereon.
12 Quando o rei voltou de Damasco, viu o altar, aproximou-se dele e nele sacrificou.
13 And he burnt his burntoffering and his meatoffering, and poured out his drinkoffering, and sprinkled the blood of his peace offerings upon the altar.
13 Queimou o seu holocausto e a sua oferta de cereais, derramou a sua libação e aspergiu o sangue das suas ofertas pacíficas naquele altar.
14 And as respecteth the copper altar which was before the Lord, he moved it back from the forefront of the house, from between the altar and the house of the Lord, and set it on the side of the altar to the north.
14 O altar de bronze, que estava diante do Senhor , ele o tirou da frente do templo, do lugar entre o altar dele e a Casa do Senhor , e o pôs ao lado do seu altar, do lado norte.
15 And king Achaz commanded Uriyah the priest, saying, Upon the great altar burn the morning burntoffering, and the evening meatoffering, and the kings burntoffering, and his meatoffering, with the burntoffering of all the people of the land, and their meatoffering, and their drinkofferings; and all the blood of the burntoffering, and all the blood of the sacrifices shalt thou sprinkle on it; and the copper altar shall be for me to visit occasionally.
15 O rei Acaz também ordenou ao sacerdote Urias, dizendo: — Use este altar grande para o holocausto da manhã, para a oferta de cereais da tarde, para o holocausto do rei e a sua oferta de cereais, e para o holocausto de todo o povo da terra, a sua oferta de cereais e as suas libações. Todo o sangue dos holocaustos e todo o sangue dos sacrifícios você deve aspergir nele. Mas o altar de bronze ficará para a minha deliberação posterior.
16 And Uriyah the priest did in accordance with all that king Achaz had commanded.
16 E o sacerdote Urias fez tudo como o rei Acaz lhe havia ordenado.
17 And king Achaz cut off the borders of the bases, and removed the lavers from off them; and the sea he took down from off the copper oxen that were under it, and placed it upon a pavement of stones.
17 O rei Acaz cortou os painéis dos suportes e tirou as pias que estavam em cima deles. Pegou também o mar de fundição e o tirou de sobre os touros de bronze, que estavam debaixo dele, e o pôs sobre um pavimento de pedra.
18 And the covered passage for the sabbath that they had built on the house, and the outer kings entrance, turned he from the house of the Lord, on account of the king of Assyria.
18 Também, por causa do rei da Assíria, retirou da Casa do Senhor a estrutura coberta para uso no sábado, que tinha sido construída no templo, e a entrada real pelo lado de fora.
19 Now the rest of the acts of Achaz which he did, behold, they are written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah.
19 Quanto aos demais atos de Acaz e ao que fez, não está tudo escrito no Livro da História dos Reis de Judá?
20 And Achaz slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David: and Hezekiah his son became king in his stead.
20 Acaz morreu e foi sepultado junto a seus pais, na Cidade de Davi; e Ezequias, seu filho, reinou em seu lugar.
