1 And when the queen of Sheba heard of the fame of Solomon, she came to prove Solomon with riddles at Jerusalem, with a very great train, and with camels bearing spices, and gold in abundance, and precious stones: and when she was come to Solomon, she spoke with him of all that was on her heart.
1 A rainha de Sabá ouviu falar da fama de Salomão e foi até Jerusalém a fim de pô-lo à prova com perguntas difíceis. Ela chegou com um grande grupo de servidores e também camelos carregados de especiarias , uma grande quantidade de ouro e de pedras preciosas. Quando se encontrou com Salomão, ela lhe fez todas as perguntas que pôde imaginar.
2 And Solomon solved for her all her questions; and there was nothing hidden from Solomon which he did not tell her.
2 Ele respondeu a todas; não houve nenhuma que fosse difícil demais para ele responder.
3 And when the queen of Sheba saw the wisdom of Solomon, and the house that he had built,
3 A rainha de Sabá ouviu a sabedoria de Salomão e viu o palácio que ele havia construído.
4 And the food of his table, and the sitting of his servants, and the attendance of his ministers, and their apparel, and his cupbearers, and their apparel; and his ascent by which he went up into the house of the Lord: there was no more spirit in her.
4 Ela viu a comida que era servida na mesa dele, viu os apartamentos dos seus altos funcionários, a organização do pessoal que trabalhava no palácio e os uniformes que eles usavam. Viu os empregados que o serviam nos banquetes e os seus uniformes e os sacrifícios que ele oferecia no Templo. Isso tudo a deixou de boca aberta e muito admirada.
5 And she said to the king, The truth only was the word that I heard in my own land of thy acts, and of thy wisdom.
5 Então ela disse ao rei Salomão: — Tudo aquilo que eu ouvi no meu país a respeito de você e da sua sabedoria é, de fato, verdade.
6 And I believed not in their words, until I came, and my eyes saw all; and, behold, the onehalf of the greatness of thy wisdom hath not been told me: thou excellest the report which I have heard.
6 Porém eu não pude acreditar até que vim e vi com os meus próprios olhos. Acontece que não tinham me contado nem a metade da sua sabedoria; ela vai muito além daquilo que ouvi dizer.
7 Happy are thy men, and happy are these thy servants, who stand before thee continually, and hear thy wisdom.
7 Que sorte têm estes seus servidores, que estão sempre ao seu lado e têm o privilégio de ouvir os seus sábios provérbios!
8 Blessed be the Lord thy God, who hath had delight in thee to place thee on his throne, as a king for the Lord thy God; because thy God loved Israel, to sustain them for ever, therefore hath he placed thee over them as king, to exercise justice and righteousness.
8 Bendito seja o Senhor , seu Deus, que ficou tão contente com você, que o tornou rei de Israel para governar em nome dele! O amor dele pelo povo de Israel é eterno, e ele quer conservar este povo para sempre como uma nação e por isso ele o fez rei de Israel, para que você possa manter a lei e a justiça.
9 And she gave to the king one hundred and twenty talents of gold, and spices in very great abundance, and precious stones: and there never were any such spices as those which the queen of Sheba gave to king Solomon.
9 Ela entregou ao rei os presentes que havia trazido: mais de quatro mil quilos de ouro e uma grande quantidade de especiarias e de pedras preciosas. Nunca houve especiarias tão finas como as que a rainha de Sabá deu ao rei Salomão.
10 And also the servants of Churam, and the servants of Solomon, who brought gold from Ophir, brought sandaltrees and precious stones.
10 (Os homens do rei Hirão e do rei Salomão que haviam trazido ouro da terra de Ofir também trouxeram madeira de sândalo e pedras preciosas.
11 And the king made of the sandaltrees steps for the house of the Lord, and for the kings palace, and harps and psalteries for singers: and there were never seen the like of them before in the land of Judah.
11 Salomão usou a madeira para fazer degraus para o Templo e para o palácio e também fez harpas e liras para os músicos. Nunca tinham sido vistos em Jerusalém instrumentos musicais tão bonitos.)
12 And king Solomon gave unto the queen of Sheba all her pleasure, whatsoever she asked, beside a return for that which she had brought unto the king. And she turned about and went away to her own country, she and her servants.
12 O rei Salomão deu à rainha de Sabá tudo o que ela quis e pediu, além dos presentes que lhe deu em troca dos presentes que ela havia trazido para ele. Então a rainha e os seus servidores voltaram para Sabá, a sua terra.
13 Now the weight of gold that came to Solomon in one year was six hundred and sixty and six talents of gold;
13 Todos os anos o rei Salomão recebia mais ou menos vinte e três mil quilos de ouro,
14 Besides what the travelling tradesmen and the merchants brought. And all the kings of Arabia and the governors of the country brought gold and silver to Solomon.
14 além dos impostos pagos pelos comerciantes e vendedores. Também os reis árabes e os administradores dos vários distritos do país lhe traziam prata e ouro.
15 And king Solomon made two hundred targets of beaten gold: six hundred shekels of beaten gold he used for each one target.
15 Salomão fez duzentos grandes escudos e mandou folhear cada um com quase sete quilos de ouro.
16 And he made three hundred shields of beaten gold; three hundred shekels of gold he used for each one shield. And the king put them in the house of the forest of Lebanon.
16 Também fez trezentos escudos menores e folheou cada um com quase três quilos e meio de ouro. Ele mandou colocar todos esses escudos no Salão da Floresta do Líbano .
17 The king also made a great throne of ivory, and overlaid it with pure gold.
17 Salomão também mandou fazer um grande trono, revestido de marfim e de ouro puro.
18 And the throne had six steps, with a footstool of gold, fastened into the throne; and there were arms on either side, on the place of the seat; and two lions stood beside the arms;
18 O trono tinha seis degraus, e ligado ao trono havia um estrado revestido de ouro. O trono tinha dois braços, e no lado de cada braço havia a figura de um leão.
19 And twelve lions stood there upon the six steps on both sides: there was not the like made in any kingdom.
19 Havia também a figura de um leão nas pontas de cada degrau, isto é, havia doze leões ao todo. Nunca tinha sido feito em qualquer outro reino um trono como este.
20 And all king Solomons drinking vessels were of gold, and all the vessels of the house of the forest of Lebanon were of pure gold: no silver was valued in the days of Solomon at the least.
20 Todas as taças que o rei Salomão usava para beber eram de ouro, e todos os objetos do Salão da Floresta do Líbano eram de ouro puro. No tempo de Salomão a prata era considerada sem valor.
21 For the kings ships went to Tharshish with the servants of Churam; once in three years did the Tharshishships use to come home laden with gold, and silver, ivory, and apes, and peacocks.
21 Salomão tinha uma frota de navios que viajava até a Espanha junto com a frota do rei Hirão. Cada três anos a sua frota voltava trazendo ouro, prata, marfim, macacos e micos.
22 And king Solomon became greater than all the kings of the earth for riches and wisdom.
22 O rei Salomão era mais rico e mais sábio do que qualquer outro rei,
23 And all the kings of the earth sought the presence of Solomon, to hear his wisdom, which God had put in his heart.
23 e todos os outros reis queriam ir ouvir a sabedoria que Deus lhe tinha dado.
24 And they brought every man his present, vessels of silver, and vessels of gold, and garments, armor, and spices, horses, and mules; and so year by year.
24 Todos os que chegavam traziam um presente para ele: objetos de prata e de ouro, roupas, armas, especiarias , cavalos e mulas. E era assim ano após ano.
25 And Solomon had four thousand stalls for horses and chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen, whom he quartered in the cities for chariots, and near the king at Jerusalem.
25 Salomão tinha quatro mil cocheiras para os seus carros de guerra e para os seus cavalos e também possuía doze mil cavalos de cavalaria. Ele deixou em Jerusalém uma parte deles e espalhou o resto por várias cidades que haviam sido preparadas para isso.
26 And he was ruling over all the kings from the river even unto the land of the Philistines, and as far as the boundary of Egypt.
26 Ele dominava todos os reis que havia desde o rio Eufrates até a terra dos filisteus e até a fronteira do Egito.
27 And the king rendered silver in Jerusalem like stones, and the cedartrees he rendered like the sycamoretrees that are in the lowlands, for abundance.
27 Em Jerusalém, durante o seu reinado, a prata era tão comum como as pedras, e havia tantos cedros como as figueiras bravas que existem nas planícies de Judá.
28 And men were bringing out horses for Solomon from Egypt and from all lands.
28 Ele importava cavalos de Musri e de todos os outros países.
29 And the remainder of the acts of Solomon, the first and the last, behold, they are written in the history of Nathan the prophet, and in the prophecy of Achiyah the Shilonite, and in the visions of Yedo the seer concerning Jeroboam the son of Nebat.
29 Todas as outras coisas que Salomão fez, do princípio do seu reinado até o fim, estão escritas nos livros História do Profeta Natã , Profecia de Aías, de Siló , e Visões do Profeta Ido ; esse último livro fala também do rei Jeroboão, filho de Nebate.
30 And Solomon reigned in Jerusalem over all Israel forty years.
30 Salomão governou quarenta anos em Jerusalém como rei de toda a terra de Israel.
31 And Solomon slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the city of David his father: and Rehoboam his son became king in his stead.
31 Ele morreu e foi sepultado na Cidade de Davi , e o seu filho Roboão ficou no lugar dele como rei.
