1 At this also my heart trembleth, and is moved out of his place.
1 “Quando penso nisso, meu coração bate mais depressa e estremece dentro de mim.
2 Hear attentively the noise of his voice, and the sound
2 Ouça com atenção o estrondo da voz de Deus, que da boca dele troveja.
3 He directeth it under the whole heaven, and his lightning unto the ends of the earth.
3 Ressoa pelo céu, e seus relâmpagos brilham em todas as direções.
4 After it a voice roareth: he thundereth with the voice of his excellency; and he will not stay them when his voice is heard.
4 Depois vem o rugido de trovões, a voz tremenda de sua majestade; quando ele fala, não a refreia.
5 God thundereth marvellously with his voice; great things doeth he, which we cannot comprehend.
5 A voz de Deus é gloriosa no trovão; é impossível imaginar a grandeza de seu poder!
6 For he saith to the snow, Be thou
6 “Ele diz à neve: ‘Venha sobre a terra!’, e ordena à chuva: ‘Caia em torrentes!’.
7 He sealeth up the hand of every man; that all men may know his work.
7 Todos param de trabalhar, a fim de observar seu poder.
8 Then the beasts go into dens, and remain in their places.
8 Os animais selvagens buscam abrigo e ficam em suas tocas.
9 Out of the south cometh the whirlwind: and cold out of the north.
9 A tempestade sai de seus aposentos, e ventos fortes trazem o frio.
10 By the breath of God frost is given: and the breadth of the waters is straitened.
10 O sopro de Deus envia o gelo e congela grandes extensões de água.
11 Also by watering he wearieth the thick cloud: he scattereth his bright cloud:
11 Ele carrega de umidade as nuvens e espalha entre elas seus relâmpagos.
12 And it is turned round about by his counsels: that they may do whatsoever he commandeth them upon the face of the world in the earth.
12 As nuvens se agitam sob sua direção e cumprem suas ordens sobre toda a terra.
13 He causeth it to come, whether for correction, or for his land, or for mercy.
13 Deus faz tudo isso para castigar as pessoas, ou para mostrar seu amor.
14 Hearken unto this, O Job: stand still, and consider the wondrous works of God.
14 “Preste atenção, Jó! Pare e pense nos feitos maravilhosos de Deus!
15 Dost thou know when God disposed them, and caused the light of his cloud to shine?
15 Você sabe como Deus controla a tempestade e faz os relâmpagos brilharem nas nuvens?
16 Dost thou know the balancings of the clouds, the wondrous works of him which is perfect in knowledge?
16 Você entende como ele move as nuvens com perfeição e conhecimento maravilhosos?
17 How thy garments
17 Enquanto você fica sufocado de calor em sua roupa, e o vento sul perde a força e tudo se acalma,
18 Hast thou with him spread out the sky,
18 ele faz o céu refletir o calor como um espelho de bronze; acaso você pode fazer o mesmo?
19 Teach us what we shall say unto him;
19 “Ensina-nos, então, o que dizer a Deus; somos ignorantes demais para apresentar nossos argumentos.
20 Shall it be told him that I speak? if a man speak, surely he shall be swallowed up.
20 Deus deve ser avisado de que desejo falar? É possível falar quando se está confuso?
21 And now
21 Não podemos olhar para o sol, pois ele brilha intensamente no céu, quando o vento dispersa as nuvens.
22 Fair weather cometh out of the north: with God
22 Da mesma forma, dourado esplendor vem do monte de Deus; ele está vestido de tremenda majestade.
23 Touching
23 O Todo-poderoso está além de nossa compreensão; apesar de seu grande poder, a ninguém oprime em sua justiça e retidão.
24 Men do therefore fear him: he respecteth not any
24 Por isso em toda parte as pessoas o temem; todos os sábios lhe mostram devoção”.
