1 O Israel, return unto the LORD your God; for you have fallen because of your iniquity.
1 “Israel, volte para o Senhor , seu Deus, porque você caiu por causa dos seus pecados.
2 Take with you words, and turn to the LORD: say unto him, Take away all iniquity, and receive us graciously: so will we offer the sacrifices of our lips.
2 Tragam palavras de arrependimento e convertam-se ao ‘Perdoa toda a nossa iniquidade, aceita o que é bom e, em vez de novilhos, os sacrifícios dos nossos lábios.
3 Assyria shall not save us; we will not ride upon horses: neither will we say any more to the work of our hands, you are our gods: for in you the fatherless finds mercy.
3 A Assíria não nos salvará. Não iremos montados em cavalos e não mais diremos às obras das nossas mãos que elas são o nosso Deus. Porque só em ti o órfão encontra misericórdia.’”
4 I will heal their backsliding, I will love them freely: for my anger has turned away from him.
4 “Vou curar a rebeldia deles. Vou amá-los de boa vontade, porque a minha ira se afastou deles.
5 I will be as the dew unto Israel: he shall grow as the lily, and cast forth his roots as Lebanon.
5 Serei para Israel como orvalho; ele florescerá como o lírio e lançará as suas raízes como o cedro do Líbano.
6 His branches shall spread, and his beauty shall be as the olive tree, and his fragrance as Lebanon.
6 Os seus ramos se estenderão, o seu esplendor será como o da oliveira, e a sua fragrância, como a do cedro do Líbano.
7 They that dwell under his shadow shall return; they shall revive as the grain, and grow as the vine: their scent shall be as the wine of Lebanon.
7 Os que se assentavam à sua sombra voltarão; serão vivificados como o trigo e florescerão como a videira; a sua fama será como a do vinho do Líbano.”
8 Ephraim shall say, What have I to do any more with idols? I have heard him, and observed him: I am like a green cypress tree. In me is your fruit found.
8 “Ó Efraim, que tenho eu a ver com os ídolos? Sou eu que ouço as suas orações e cuido de você! Eu sou como o cipreste verde; de mim procede o seu fruto.”
9 Who is wise, and he shall understand these things? prudent, and he shall know them? for the ways of the LORD are right, and the just shall walk in them: but the transgressors shall stumble in them.
9 Quem é sábio, que entenda estas coisas! Quem é inteligente, que as compreenda! Porque os caminhos do são retos, e os justos andarão neles, mas os transgressores neles cairão.
