Mateus 26
King James 2000 (KJ2000) vs VC
1 And it came to pass, when Jesus had finished all these sayings, he said unto his disciples,
1 — ausente —
2 You know that after two days is the feast of the passover, and the Son of man is betrayed to be crucified.
2 Ye know that after two days the passover takes place, and the Son of man is delivered up to be crucified.
3 Then assembled together the chief priests, and the scribes, and the elders of the people, unto the palace of the high priest, who was called Caiaphas,
3 Then the chief priests and the elders of the people were gathered together to the palace of the high priest who was called Caiaphas,
4 And consulted that they might take Jesus by subtlety, and kill him.
4 and took counsel together in order that they might seize Jesus by subtlety and kill him;
5 But they said, Not on the feast day, lest there be an uproar among the people.
5 but they said, Not in the feast, that there be not a tumult among the people.
6 Now when Jesus was in Bethany, in the house of Simon the leper,
6 — ausente —
7 There came unto him a woman having an alabaster flask of very precious ointment, and poured it on his head, as he sat to eat.
7 a woman, having an alabaster flask of very precious ointment, came to him and poured it out upon his head as he lay at table.
8 But when his disciples saw it, they had indignation, saying, To what purpose is this waste?
8 But the disciples seeing it became indignant, saying, To what end {was} this waste?
9 For this ointment might have been sold for much, and given to the poor.
9 for this might have been sold for much and been given to the poor.
10 When Jesus knew it, he said unto them, Why trouble you the woman? for she has worked a good work unto me.
10 But Jesus knowing {it} said to them, Why do ye trouble the woman? for she has wrought a good work toward me.
11 For you have the poor always with you; but me you have not always.
11 For ye have the poor always with you, but me ye have not always.
12 For in that she has poured this ointment on my body, she did it for my burial.
12 For in pouring out this ointment on my body, she has done it for my burying.
13 Verily I say unto you, Wherever this gospel shall be preached in the whole world, there shall also this, which this woman has done, be told for a memorial of her.
13 Verily I say to you, Wheresoever these glad tidings may be preached in the whole world, that also which this {woman} has done shall be spoken of for a memorial of her.
14 Then one of the twelve, called Judas Iscariot, went unto the chief priests,
14 — ausente —
15 And said unto them, What will you give me, and I will deliver him unto you? And they covenanted with him for thirty pieces of silver.
15 and said, What are ye willing to give me, and *I* will deliver him up to you? And they appointed to him thirty pieces of silver.
16 And from that time he sought opportunity to betray him.
16 And from that time he sought a good opportunity that he might deliver him up.
17 Now the first day of the feast of unleavened bread the disciples came to Jesus, saying unto him, Where will you that we prepare for you to eat the passover?
17 — ausente —
18 And he said, Go into the city to such a man, and say unto him, The Teacher says, My time is at hand; I will keep the passover at your house with my disciples.
18 And he said, Go into the city unto such a one, and say to him, The Teacher says, My time is near, I will keep the passover in thy house with my disciples.
19 And the disciples did as Jesus had appointed them; and they made ready the passover.
19 And the disciples did as Jesus had directed them, and they prepared the passover.
20 Now when the evening was come, he sat down with the twelve.
20 And when the evening was come he lay down at table with the twelve.
21 And as they did eat, he said, Verily I say unto you, that one of you shall betray me.
21 And as they were eating he said, Verily I say to you, that one of you shall deliver me up.
22 And they were exceedingly sorrowful, and began every one of them to say unto him, Lord, is it I?
22 And being exceedingly grieved they began to say to him, each of them, Is it *I*, Lord?
23 And he answered and said, He that dips his hand with me in the dish, the same shall betray me.
23 But he answering said, He that dips his hand with me in the dish, *he* it is who shall deliver me up.
24 The Son of man goes as it is written of him: but woe unto that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! It would have been good for that man if he had not been born.
24 The Son of man goes indeed, according as it is written concerning him, but woe to that man by whom the Son of man is delivered up; it were good for that man if he had not been born.
25 Then Judas, who betrayed him, answered and said, Teacher, is it I? He said unto him, You have said.
25 And Judas, who delivered him up, answering said, Is it *I*, Rabbi? He says to him, *Thou* hast said.
26 And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed it, and broke it, and gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my body.
26 — ausente —
27 And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink you all of it;
27 And having taken {the} cup and given thanks, he gave {it} to them, saying, Drink ye all of it.
28 For this is my blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.
28 For this is my blood, that of the {new} covenant, that shed for many for remission of sins.
29 But I say unto you, I will not drink again of this fruit of the vine, until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father's kingdom.
29 But I say to you, that I will not at all drink henceforth of this fruit of the vine, until that day when I drink it new with you in the kingdom of my Father.
30 And when they had sung a hymn, they went out into the mount of Olives.
31 Then said Jesus unto them, All you shall be offended because of me this night: for it is written, I will smite the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock shall be scattered abroad.
31 Disse-lhes então Jesus: Esta noite serei para todos vós uma ocasião de queda; porque está escrito: Ferirei o pastor, e as ovelhas do rebanho serão dispersadas {Zc 13,7}.
32 But after I am risen again, I will go before you into Galilee.
33 Peter answered and said unto him, Though all men shall be offended because of you, yet will I never be offended.
34 Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto you, That this night, before the cock crows, you shall deny me three times.
34 Disse-lhe Jesus: Em verdade te digo: nesta noite mesma, antes que o galo cante, três vezes me negarás.
35 Peter said unto him, Though I should die with you, yet will I not deny you. Likewise also said all the disciples.
36 Then came Jesus with them unto a place called Gethsemane, and said unto the disciples, Sit you here, while I go and pray yonder.
37 And he took with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and began to be sorrowful and very distressed.
37 E, tomando consigo Pedro e os dois filhos de Zebedeu, começou a entristecer-se e a angustiar-se.
38 Then said he unto them, My soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even unto death: tarry you here, and watch with me.
Ficai aqui e vigiai comigo.
39 And he went a little farther, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as you will.
40 And he came unto the disciples, and found them asleep, and said unto Peter, What, could you not watch with me one hour?
41 Watch and pray, that you enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.
42 He went away again the second time, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if this cup may not pass away from me, except I drink it, your will be done.
43 And he came and found them asleep again: for their eyes were heavy.
44 And he left them, and went away again, and prayed the third time, saying the same words.
45 Then came he to his disciples, and said unto them, Sleep on now, and take your rest: behold, the hour is at hand, and the Son of man is betrayed into the hands of sinners.
46 Rise, let us be going: behold, he is at hand that does betray me.
46 Levantai-vos, vamos! Aquele que me trai está perto daqui.
47 And while he yet spoke, lo, Judas, one of the twelve, came, and with him a great multitude with swords and clubs, from the chief priests and elders of the people.
48 Now he that betrayed him gave them a sign, saying, Whomsoever I shall kiss, that same is he: hold him fast.
Prendei-o!
49 And immediately he came to Jesus, and said, Hail, Teacher; and kissed him.
E beijou-o.
50 And Jesus said unto him, Friend, why are you come? Then came they, and laid hands on Jesus, and took him.
51 And, behold, one of them who was with Jesus stretched out his hand, and drew his sword, and struck a servant of the high priest, and cut off his ear.
52 Then said Jesus unto him, Put up again your sword into its place: for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword.
53 Think you that I cannot now pray to my Father, and he shall presently give me more than twelve legions of angels?
54 But how then shall the scriptures be fulfilled, that thus it must be?
55 In that same hour said Jesus to the multitudes, Are you come out as against a thief with swords and clubs to take me? I sat daily with you teaching in the temple, and you laid no hold on me.
56 But all this was done, that the scriptures of the prophets might be fulfilled. Then all the disciples forsook him, and fled.
57 And they that had laid hold on Jesus led him away to Caiaphas the high priest, where the scribes and the elders were assembled.
58 But Peter followed him afar off unto the high priest's palace, and went in, and sat with the servants, to see the end.
59 Now the chief priests, and elders, and all the council, sought false witness against Jesus, to put him to death;
60 But found none: yea, though many false witnesses came, yet found they none. At the last came two false witnesses,
61 And said, This fellow said, I am able to destroy the temple of God, and to build it in three days.
62 And the high priest arose, and said unto him, Answer you nothing? what is it which these witness against you?
63 But Jesus held his peace. And the high priest answered and said unto him, I adjure you by the living God, that you tell us whether you be the Christ, the Son of God.
63 Jesus, no entanto, permanecia calado.
64 Jesus said unto him, You have said so: nevertheless I say unto you, Hereafter shall you see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.
64 Jesus respondeu: Sim.
65 Then the high priest tore his clothes, saying, He has spoken blasphemy; what further need have we of witnesses? behold, now you have heard his blasphemy.
66 What think you? They answered and said, He is guilty of death.
66 Qual o vosso parecer? Eles responderam: Merece a morte!
67 Then did they spit in his face, and buffeted him; and others struck him with the palms of their hands,
67 Cuspiram-lhe então na face, bateram-lhe com os punhos e deram-lhe tapas,
68 Saying, Prophesy unto us, you Christ, Who is he that struck you?
68 dizendo: Adivinha, ó Cristo: quem te bateu?
69 Now Peter sat outside in the courtyard: and a maidservant came unto him, saying, You also were with Jesus of Galilee.
70 But he denied it before them all, saying, I know not what you say.
71 And when he was gone out into the porch, another maidservant saw him, and said unto them that were there, This fellow was also with Jesus of Nazareth.
72 And again he denied it with an oath, I do not know the man.
73 And after awhile came unto him they that stood by, and said to Peter, Surely you also are one of them; for your speech betrays you.
74 Then began he to curse and to swear, saying, I know not the man. And immediately the cock crowed.
E, neste momento, cantou o galo.
75 And Peter remembered the words of Jesus, who said unto him, Before the cock crows, you shall deny me three times. And he went out, and wept bitterly.
75 Pedro recordou-se do que Jesus lhe dissera: Antes que o galo cante, negar-me-ás três vezes. E saindo, chorou amargamente.
