Amós 9

1 I saw the Lord standing upon the altar: and he said, Strike the lintel of the door, that the posts may shake: and break them on the heads of all of them; and I will slay the last of them with the sword: he that flees of them shall not flee away, and he that escapes of them shall not be delivered.
1 Vi o Senhor, que estava em pé junto ao altar. Ele me disse: “Bata nos capitéis das colunas, para que os umbrais comecem a tremer e os pedaços caiam sobre a cabeça de todos eles. Matarei à espada os que restarem. Nenhum deles fugirá, e nenhum escapará.
2 Though they dig into sheol, there shall my hand take them; though they climb up to heaven, there will I bring them down:
2 Ainda que cavem para chegar ao mais profundo abismo, a minha mão os tirará de lá. Se subirem ao céu, de lá os farei descer.
3 And though they hide themselves on the top of Carmel, I will search and take them from there; and though they are hidden from my sight in the bottom of the sea, there will I command the serpent, and it shall bite them:
3 Se eles se esconderem no alto do Carmelo, irei atrás deles e de lá os tirarei. E, caso se ocultarem dos meus olhos no fundo do mar, ali darei ordem à serpente, e ela os morderá.
4 And though they go into captivity before their enemies, there will I command the sword, and it shall slay them: and I will set my eyes upon them for harm, and not for good.
4 Se forem levados para o cativeiro pelos seus inimigos, ali darei ordem à espada, e ela os matará; porei os meus olhos sobre eles para o mal e não para o bem.”
5 And the Lord GOD of hosts is he that touches the land, and it shall melt, and all that dwell in it shall mourn: and it shall rise up wholly like the river; and shall be drowned, as by the river of Egypt.
5 Porque o Senhor, o é o que toca na terra, e ela se derrete, e todos os seus moradores estarão de luto. Toda a terra subirá como o Nilo e abaixará como o rio do Egito.
6 It is he that builds his chambers in the heavens, and has founded his vault upon the earth; he that calls for the waters of the sea, and pours them out upon the face of the earth: The LORD is his name.
6 Deus é o que edifica as suas câmaras no céu e firmou a sua abóbada sobre a terra. Ele é o que chama as águas do mar e as derrama sobre a terra;
7 Are you not as children of the Ethiopians unto me, O children of Israel? says the LORD. Have not I brought up Israel out of the land of Egypt? and the Philistines from Caphtor, and the Syrians from Kir?
7 “Filhos de Israel, não é verdade que vocês são para mim como os filhos dos etíopes?” — diz o “Não é fato que eu tirei Israel da terra do Egito, os filisteus de Caftor, e os sírios de Quir?
8 Behold, the eyes of the Lord GOD are upon the sinful kingdom, and I will destroy it from off the face of the earth; except that I will not utterly destroy the house of Jacob, says the LORD.
8 Eis que os olhos do Senhor Deus estão contra este reino pecador, e eu o destruirei da face da terra. Mas não destruirei por completo a casa de Jacó”, diz o
9 For, lo, I will command, and I will sift the house of Israel among all nations, like grain is sifted in a sieve, yet shall not the least grain fall upon the earth.
9 “Porque eis que darei ordens e sacudirei a casa de Israel entre todas as nações, assim como se sacode trigo na peneira, sem que um só grão caia na terra.
10 All the sinners of my people shall die by the sword, who say, The calamity shall not overtake nor meet us.
10 Todos os pecadores do meu povo morrerão à espada, os que dizem: ‘O mal não nos alcançará nem nos encontrará.’”
11 In that day will I raise up the tabernacle of David that is fallen, and close up its breaches; and I will raise up its ruins, and I will rebuild it as in the days of old:
11 “Naquele dia, levantarei o tabernáculo caído de Davi. Vou reparar as suas brechas e levantá-lo das suas ruínas. Vou restaurá-lo, para que volte a ser como era nos dias da antiguidade,
12 That they may possess the remnant of Edom, and of all the nations, who are called by my name, says the LORD that does this.
12 para que o meu povo tome posse do restante de Edom e de todas as nações que são chamadas pelo meu nome”, diz o que faz estas coisas.
13 Behold, the days come, says the LORD, that the plowman shall overtake the reaper, and the treader of grapes him that sows seed; and the mountains shall drop sweet wine, and all the hills shall flow with it.
13 “Eis que vêm dias”, diz o “em que o que lavra virá logo após o que colhe, e o que pisa as uvas virá logo após o que lança semente. Os montes destilarão vinho, e todas as colinas se derreterão.
14 And I will bring again the captivity of my people of Israel, and they shall rebuild the waste cities, and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, and drink their wine; they shall also make gardens, and eat the fruit of them.
14 Mudarei a sorte do meu povo de Israel. Eles reedificarão as cidades destruídas e nelas habitarão. Plantarão vinhas e beberão o seu vinho; farão pomares e comerão dos seus frutos.
15 And I will plant them upon their land, and they shall no more be pulled up out of their land which I have given them, says the LORD your God.
15 Eu os plantarei na sua terra, e, dessa terra que lhes dei, nunca mais serão arrancados”, diz o
