1 And when the queen of Sheba heard of the fame of Solomon, she came to test Solomon with hard questions at Jerusalem, with a very great company, and camels that bore spices, and gold in abundance, and precious stones: and when she had come to Solomon, she spoke with him of all that was in her heart.
1 Tendo a rainha de Sabá ouvido a fama de Salomão, veio a Jerusalém prová-lo com perguntas difíceis, com mui grande comitiva; com camelos carregados de especiarias, de ouro em abundância e pedras preciosas; compareceu perante Salomão e lhe expôs tudo quanto trazia em sua mente.
2 And Solomon answered her all her questions: and there was nothing hid from Solomon which he answered her not.
2 Salomão lhe deu resposta a todas as perguntas, e nada lhe houve profundo demais que não pudesse explicar.
3 And when the queen of Sheba had seen the wisdom of Solomon, and the house that he had built,
3 Vendo, pois, a rainha de Sabá a sabedoria de Salomão, e a casa que edificara,
4 And the food of his table, and the seating of his officials, and the attendance of his servants, and their apparel; his cupbearers also, and their apparel; and his entryway by which he went up into the house of the LORD; there was no more spirit in her.
4 e a comida da sua mesa, o lugar dos seus oficiais, o serviço dos seus criados, e os trajes deles, seus copeiros, e os seus trajes, e o holocausto que oferecia na Casa do Senhor , ficou como fora de si
5 And she said to the king, It was a true report which I heard in my own land of your acts, and of your wisdom:
5 e disse ao rei: Foi verdade a palavra que a teu respeito ouvi na minha terra e a respeito da tua sabedoria.
6 However I believed not their words, until I came, and my eyes had seen it: and, behold, the one half of the greatness of your wisdom was not told me: for you exceed the fame that I heard.
6 Eu, contudo, não cria no que se falava, até que vim e vi com os próprios olhos. Eis que não me contaram a metade da grandeza da tua sabedoria; sobrepujas a fama que ouvi.
7 Happy are your men, and happy are these your servants, who stand continually before you, and hear your wisdom.
7 Felizes os teus homens, felizes estes teus servos que estão sempre diante de ti e ouvem a tua sabedoria!
8 Blessed be the LORD your God, who delighted in you to set you on his throne, to be king for the LORD your God: because your God loved Israel, to establish them forever, therefore he made you king over them, to do justice and righteousness.
8 Bendito seja o Senhor , teu Deus, que se agradou de ti para te colocar no seu trono como rei para o Senhor , teu Deus; porque o teu Deus ama a Israel para o estabelecer para sempre; por isso, te constituiu rei sobre ele, para executares juízo e justiça.
9 And she gave the king a hundred and twenty talents of gold, and spices in great abundance, and precious stones: neither were there any such spices as the queen of Sheba gave king Solomon.
9 Deu ela ao rei cento e vinte talentos de ouro, especiarias em grande abundância e pedras preciosas, e nunca houve especiarias tais como as que a rainha de Sabá deu ao rei Salomão.
10 And the servants also of Huram, and the servants of Solomon, who brought gold from Ophir, brought algum wood and precious stones.
10 Os servos de Hirão e os servos de Salomão, que de Ofir tinham trazido ouro, trouxeram também madeira de sândalo e pedras preciosas.
11 And the king made of the algum wood steps to the house of the LORD, and to the king’s palace, and harps and lyres for the singers: and there were none such seen before in the land of Judah.
11 Desta madeira de sândalo fez o rei balaústres para a Casa do Senhor e para a casa real, como também harpas e alaúdes para os cantores, quais nunca dantes se viram na terra de Judá.
12 And king Solomon gave to the queen of Sheba all her desire, whatsoever she asked, more than that which she had brought unto the king. So she turned, and went away to her own land, she and her servants.
12 O rei Salomão deu à rainha de Sabá, além do equivalente ao que ela lhe trouxera, mais tudo o que ela desejou e pediu. Assim, voltou e foi para a sua terra, ela e os seus servos.
13 Now the weight of gold that came to Solomon in one year was six hundred and threescore and six talents of gold;
13 O peso do ouro que se trazia a Salomão cada ano era de seiscentos e sessenta e seis talentos,
14 Besides that which traders and merchants brought. And all the kings of Arabia and governors of the country brought gold and silver to Solomon.
14 afora o que entrava dos vendedores e dos negociantes; também todos os reis da Arábia e os governadores dessa mesma terra traziam a Salomão ouro e prata.
15 And king Solomon made two hundred large shields of hammered gold: six hundred shekels of hammered gold went to each large shield.
15 Fez o rei Salomão duzentos paveses de ouro batido; seiscentos siclos de ouro batido mandou pesar para cada pavês.
16 And three hundred shields made he of hammered gold: three hundred shekels of gold went to one shield. And the king put them in the house of the forest of Lebanon.
16 Fez também trezentos escudos de ouro batido; trezentos siclos de ouro mandou pesar para cada escudo. E o rei os pôs na Casa do Bosque do Líbano.
17 Moreover the king made a great throne of ivory, and overlaid it with pure gold.
17 Fez mais o rei um grande trono de marfim e o cobriu de ouro puro.
18 And there were six steps to the throne, with a footstool of gold, which were fastened to the throne, and arm rests on each side of the seat, and two lions standing by the arm rests:
18 O trono tinha seis degraus e um estrado de ouro a ele pegado; de ambos os lados, tinha braços junto ao assento e dois leões junto aos braços.
19 And twelve lions stood there, one on each side upon the six steps. There was not the like of which made in any kingdom.
19 Também doze leões estavam ali sobre os seis degraus, um em cada extremo destes. Nunca se fizera obra semelhante em nenhum dos reinos.
20 And all the drinking vessels of king Solomon were of gold, and all the vessels of the house of the forest of Lebanon were of pure gold: none were of silver; for it was not counted as anything in the days of Solomon.
20 Todas as taças de que se servia o rei Salomão para beber eram de ouro, e também de ouro puro, todas as da Casa do Bosque do Líbano; à prata, nos dias de Salomão, não se dava estimação nenhuma.
21 For the king’s ships went to Tarshish with the servants of Huram: once every three years came the ships of Tarshish bringing gold, and silver, ivory, and apes, and peacocks.
21 Porque o rei tinha navios que iam a Társis, com os servos de Hirão; de três em três anos, voltavam os navios de Társis, trazendo ouro e prata, marfim, bugios e pavões.
22 And king Solomon passed all the kings of the earth in riches and wisdom.
22 Assim, o rei Salomão excedeu a todos os reis do mundo, tanto em riqueza como em sabedoria.
23 And all the kings of the earth sought the presence of Solomon, to hear his wisdom, that God had put in his heart.
23 Todos os reis do mundo procuravam ir ter com ele para ouvir a sabedoria que Deus lhe pusera no coração.
24 And they brought every man his present, articles of silver, and articles of gold, and raiment, armor, and spices, horses, and mules, a set rate year by year.
24 Cada um trazia o seu presente, objetos de prata e de ouro, roupas, armaduras, especiarias, cavalos e mulas; assim ano após ano.
25 And Solomon had four thousand stalls for horses and chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen; whom he stationed in the chariot cities, and with the king at Jerusalem.
25 Tinha Salomão quatro mil cavalos em estrebarias para os seus carros e doze mil cavaleiros, que distribuiu às cidades para os carros e junto ao rei, em Jerusalém.
26 And he reigned over all the kings from the river even unto the land of the Philistines, and to the border of Egypt.
26 Dominava Salomão sobre todos os reis desde o Eufrates até à terra dos filisteus e até ao limite do Egito.
27 And the king made silver in Jerusalem as common as stones, and cedar trees made he as the sycamore trees that are in the low plains in abundance.
27 Fez o rei que, em Jerusalém, houvesse prata como pedras e cedros em abundância como os sicômoros que estão nas planícies.
28 And they brought unto Solomon horses out of Egypt, and out of all lands.
28 Importavam-se cavalos para Salomão, do Egito e de todas as terras.
29 Now the rest of the acts of Solomon, first and last, are they not written in the book of Nathan the prophet, and in the prophecy of Ahijah the Shilonite, and in the visions of Iddo the seer concerning Jeroboam the son of Nebat?
29 Quanto aos mais atos de Salomão, tanto os primeiros como os últimos, porventura, não estão escritos no Livro da História de Natã, o profeta, e na Profecia de Aías, o silonita, e nas Visões de Ido, o vidente, acerca de Jeroboão, filho de Nebate?
30 And Solomon reigned in Jerusalem over all Israel forty years.
30 Quarenta anos reinou Salomão em Jerusalém sobre todo o Israel.
31 And Solomon slept with his fathers, and he was buried in the city of David his father: and Rehoboam his son reigned in his stead.
31 Descansou com seus pais e foi sepultado na Cidade de Davi, seu pai, e Roboão, seu filho, reinou em seu lugar.
