1 ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯರೇ, ಇದೇ ರೀತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಗಂಡಂದಿರಿಗೆ ಅಧೀನರಾಗಿರಿ. ಅವರಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಲವರು ದೇವರ ವಾಕ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಅವಿಧೇಯರಾಗಿದ್ದರೂ

2 ನೀವು ದೇವರಲ್ಲಿ ಭಯಭಕ್ತಿಯುಳ್ಳವರಾಗಿದ್ದು ನಿಷ್ಕಳಂಕರಾಗಿ ಜೀವಿಸುವುದನ್ನು ಕಂಡು ವಾಕ್ಯೋಪದೇಶವಿಲ್ಲದಿದ್ದರೂ ದೇವರ ವಾಕ್ಯದ ಮೇಲೆ ನಂಬಿಕೆಯಿಡಲು ನಿಮ್ಮ ನಡತೆಯಿಂದಲೇ ಪ್ರೋತ್ಸಾಹಿಸಲ್ಪಡುವರು.
2 having witnessed your pure conversation {carried out} in fear;
3 ತಲೆಕೂದಲನ್ನು ಸುಂದರವಾಗಿ ಬಾಚಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದಾಗಲಿ ಬಂಗಾರದ ಒಡವೆಗಳಾಗಲಿ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯ ಬಟ್ಟೆಗಳಾಗಲಿ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಸೌಂದರ್ಯದ ಸಾಧನಗಳಾಗದಿರಲಿ.
3 whose adorning let it not be that outward one of tressing of hair, and wearing gold, or putting on apparel;
4 ಸಾತ್ವಿಕವೂ ಶಾಂತವೂ ಆದ ಆಂತರ್ಯವೇ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಸೌಂದರ್ಯವಾಗಿರಬೇಕು. ಆ ಸೌಂದರ್ಯ ನಶಿಸಿಹೋಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಅದು ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಬಹು ಅಮೂಲ್ಯವಾದದ್ದು.
4 but the hidden man of the heart, in the incorruptible {ornament} of a meek and quiet spirit, which in the sight of God is of great price.
5 ಬಹು ಕಾಲದ ಹಿಂದೆ ಜೀವಿಸಿದ್ದು ದೇವರನ್ನು ಅನುಸರಿಸುತ್ತಾ ಪರಿಶುದ್ಧರಾಗಿದ್ದ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯರು ಇದೇ ರೀತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ತಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಶೃಂಗರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡರು. ಅವರು ತಮ್ಮ ಗಂಡಂದಿರಿಗೆ ಅಧೀನರಾಗಿದ್ದರು.
5 For thus also the holy women who have hoped in God heretofore adorned themselves, being subject to their own husbands;
6 ನಾನು ಸಾರಳಂತಹ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯರ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದೇನೆ. ಅವಳು ತನ್ನ ಗಂಡನಾದ ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನಿಗೆ ವಿಧೇಯಳಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಅವನನ್ನು ತನ್ನ ಒಡೆಯನೆಂದು ಕರೆದಳು. ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯರಾದ ನೀವು ಭಯಪಡದೆ ಯಾವಾಗಲೂ ಯೋಗ್ಯವಾದುದನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದರೆ, ನೀವು ಸಾರಳ ನಿಜವಾದ ಮಕ್ಕಳಾಗುವಿರಿ.
6 as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord; whose children ye have become, doing good, and not fearing with any kind of consternation.
7 ಪುರುಷರೇ, ಇದೇ ರೀತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನೀವು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಪತ್ನಿಯರನ್ನು ಅರ್ಥಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡು ಅವರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಬಾಳಬೇಕು. ನೀವು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಪತ್ನಿಯರಿಗೆ ಗೌರವ ತೋರಬೇಕು. ಅವರು ನಿಮಗಿಂತ ದುರ್ಬಲರು. ಆದರೆ ದೇವರು ನಿಮಗೆ ಕೊಡುವ ಆಶೀರ್ವಾದವನ್ನೇ ಅಂದರೆ ನಿಜಜೀವವನ್ನು ನೀಡುವ ಕೃಪೆಯನ್ನೇ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಪತ್ನಿಯರಿಗೂ ಕೊಡುವನು. ನೀವು ಹೀಗೆ ಜೀವಿಸುವುದಾಗಿದ್ದರೆ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥಿಸಲು ನಿಮಗೆ ಅಡ್ಡಿಯಾಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.
7 {Ye} husbands likewise, dwell with {them} according to knowledge, as with a weaker, {even} the female, vessel, giving {them} honour, as also fellow-heirs of {the} grace of life, that your prayers be not hindered.
8 ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ನೀವೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಒಟ್ಟಾಗಿ ಶಾಂತಿಯಿಂದ ಬಾಳಿರಿ; ಒಬ್ಬರನ್ನೊಬ್ಬರು ಅರ್ಥಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಿಸಿರಿ. ಒಬ್ಬರನ್ನೊಬ್ಬರು ಸಹೋದರರಂತೆ ಪ್ರೀತಿಸಿರಿ. ದಯೆ ತೋರುವವರೂ ಮತ್ತು ದೀನತೆ ಉಳ್ಳವರೂ ಆಗಿರಿ.

9 ಅಪಕಾರ ಮಾಡಿದವನಿಗೆ ಅಪಕಾರ ಮಾಡದೆ, ನಿಂದಿಸಿದವನನ್ನು ನಿಂದಿಸದೆ, ಅವನನ್ನು ಆಶೀರ್ವದಿಸುವಂತೆ ದೇವರಲ್ಲಿ ಬೇಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಿರಿ. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಆಶೀರ್ವಾದವನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ನೀವು ಕರೆಯಲ್ಪಟ್ಟವರಾಗಿದ್ದೀರಿ.
9 not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing; but on the contrary, blessing {others}, because ye have been called to this, that ye should inherit blessing.
10 ಪವಿತ್ರ ಗ್ರಂಥವು ಹೇಳುವುದೇನೆಂದರೆ,
10 For he that will love life and see good days, let him cause his tongue to cease from evil and his lips that they speak no guile.
11 ಅವನು ಕೆಟ್ಟದ್ದನ್ನು ಮಾಡದೆ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯದನ್ನೇ ಮಾಡಲಿ.
11 And let him avoid evil, and do good; let him seek peace and pursue it;
12 ನೀತಿವಂತರನ್ನು ಪ್ರಭುವು ಕಾಯುತ್ತಾನೆ;
12 because {the} eyes of {the} Lord {are} on {the} righteous, and his ears towards their supplications; but {the} face of {the} Lord {is} against them that do evil.
13 ನೀವು ಯಾವಾಗಲೂ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯದನ್ನು ಮಾಡಲು ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದರೆ, ಯಾರೂ ನಿಮಗೆ ಕೇಡು ಮಾಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.
13 And who shall injure you if ye have become imitators of that which {is} good?
14 ಆದರೆ ಯೋಗ್ಯವಾದುದನ್ನು ಮಾಡುವಾಗ ನೀವು ಸಂಕಟಪಡಬೇಕಾಗಬಹುದು. ಆದರೆ “ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಸಂಕಟಕ್ಕೆ ಒಳಪಡಿಸುವ ಜನರಿಗೆ ಹೆದರಬೇಡಿರಿ ಮತ್ತು ಚಿಂತಿಸಬೇಡಿರಿ.”
14 E até sereis felizes, se padecerdes alguma coisa por causa da justiça!
15 ನಿಮ್ಮ ಹೃದಯಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನೇ ಪ್ರಭುವಾಗಿರಲಿ. ನಿಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿರುವ ನಿರೀಕ್ಷೆಗೆ ಆಧಾರವೇನೆಂದು ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಕೇಳುವ ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಬ್ಬರಿಗೂ ಉತ್ತರ ಹೇಳಲು ಯಾವಾಗಲೂ ಸಿದ್ಧವಾಗಿರಿ.
15 Portanto, não temais as suas ameaças e não vos turbeis. Antes santificai em vossos corações Cristo, o Senhor. Estai sempre prontos a responder para vossa defesa a todo aquele que vos pedir a razão de vossa esperança, mas fazei-o com suavidade e respeito.
16 ಆದರೆ ಸಾತ್ವಿಕತೆಯಿಂದ ಗೌರವಕರವಾದ ರೀತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಉತ್ತರವನ್ನು ಹೇಳಿ. ನೀವು ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿರುವುದು ಯೋಗ್ಯವಾದದ್ದೆಂಬುದು ನಿಮಗೆ ಯಾವಾಗಲೂ ಖಚಿತವಾಗಿ ತಿಳಿದಿರಬೇಕು. ಆಗ, ನೀವು ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನಲ್ಲಿ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯವರಾಗಿ ಜೀವಿಸುವುದನ್ನು ನೋಡಿ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಕೆಟ್ಟಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಹೇಳುವವರು ತಾವು ಹೇಳಿದ ಕೆಟ್ಟ ಸಂಗತಿಗಳಿಗಾಗಿ ನಾಚಿಕೆಪಡುವರು.
16 Tende uma consciência reta a fim de que, mesmo naquilo em que dizem mal de vós, sejam confundidos os que desacreditam o vosso santo procedimento em Cristo.
17 ಕೆಟ್ಟದ್ದನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿ ಸಂಕಟ ಪಡುವುದಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯದನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿ ಸಂಕಟಪಡುವುದು ಉತ್ತಮ. ಹೌದು, ಅದು ದೇವರ ಅಪೇಕ್ಷೆಯಾಗಿದ್ದರೆ ಅದೇ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯದು.
17 Aliás, é melhor padecer, se Deus assim o quiser, por fazer o bem do que por fazer o mal.
18 ನಿಮ್ಮ ಪಾಪಗಳಿಗಾಗಿ ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನು ಒಂದೇಸಾರಿ
18 Pois também Cristo morreu uma vez pelos nossos pecados - o Justo pelos injustos - para nos conduzir a Deus. Padeceu a morte em sua carne, mas foi vivificado quanto ao espírito.
19 ಬಳಿಕ ಆತನು ಆತ್ಮರೂಪದಲ್ಲಿ ಹೋಗಿ ಸೆರೆಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಆತ್ಮಗಳಿಗೆ ಸುವಾರ್ತೆ ಸಾರಿದನು.
19 É neste mesmo espírito que ele foi pregar aos espíritos que eram detidos no cárcere, àqueles que outrora, nos dias de Noé, tinham sido rebeldes,
20 ಬಹಳ ಹಿಂದೆ ನೋಹನ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಅವಿಧೇಯರಾಗಿದ್ದವರೇ ಅವರು. ನೋಹನು ನಾವೆಯನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾಗ ದೇವರು ತಾಳ್ಮೆಯಿಂದ ಕಾಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದನು. ಕೆಲವರು ಅಂದರೆ ಎಂಟು ಮಂದಿ ಮಾತ್ರ, ಆ ನಾವೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ನೀರಿನ ಮೂಲಕ ರಕ್ಷಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟರು.
20 quando Deus aguardava com paciência, enquanto se edificava a arca, na qual poucas pessoas, isto é, apenas oito se salvaram através da água.
21 ಆ ನೀರು ಈಗ ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ರಕ್ಷಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವ ದೀಕ್ಷಾಸ್ನಾನದಂತಿದೆ. ದೀಕ್ಷಾಸ್ನಾನವು ಮೈಕೊಳೆಯನ್ನು ತೊಳೆಯುವಂಥದ್ದಲ್ಲ. ಅದು ಪರಿಶುದ್ಧ ಹೃದಯ ಬೇಕೆಂದು ವಿಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವಂಥದಾಗಿದೆ. ಯೇಸು ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನು ಸಾವಿನಿಂದ ಎದ್ದುಬಂದದ್ದರಿಂದ ಅದು ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ರಕ್ಷಿಸುತ್ತದೆ.
21 Esta água prefigurava o batismo de agora, que vos salva também a vós, não pela purificação das impurezas do corpo, mas pela que consiste em pedir a Deus uma consciência boa, pela ressurreição de Jesus Cristo.
22 ಈಗ ಯೇಸು ಪರಲೋಕಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗಿರುವನು. ಆತನು ದೇವರ ಬಲಗಡೆಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ಆತನು ದೇವದೂತರನ್ನೂ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳನ್ನೂ ಶಕ್ತಿಗಳನ್ನೂ ಆಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾನೆ.
22 Esse Jesus Cristo, tendo subido ao céu, está assentado à direita de Deus, depois de ter recebido a submissão dos anjos, dos principados e das potestades.
